Ok so I didn't really get to use it what I intended it for because it is a tall sub. But I did not return it because I had already taken it out and didn't really want the hassle of shipping it back because of my stubbornness. I did manage to use it for a home stereo set up. Basically gutted a old radio shack Optimus speaker box and installed it in there. It looks pretty bad ass and fit perfectly. It sounds pretty good but definitely not hitting its potential. Needs lots more juice. But over all it came packaged nice and protected I like using sonic electronix for car audio. I go directly to there site find what I need then order it through amazon. Overall the sub is nice and tight if you got room try one its def a good sub. Unfortunately I gotta use 1 of 2 subs a ken wood or a kicker comp rt oh well mistake ... show more

Running a Crossfire Tek 150 on two of these subs and I am impressed. I believe that these subs could take 500 watts easily. Running 300 rms into 2 P2D4-8's pound my truck cab extremely well. With a ported box tuned to 32hz, the sub never bottom...granted the sub can only do 40hz itself, it's nicer than my JL 8W0 easily and WAY louder. ... show more

Almost a year of beating on this sub daily, and I couldn't be happier. Sas bass tube provides a cozy home for this 8 inch heavy hitter. Made to last !! Puts my kicker comp 8 to shame. 2024 and this 8" sub is stiil bumping hard. Originally purchased in 2017.

These baby's are legit!!! Outa the box they will have to broke in!!! You must brake them in!!!! The spider is sooooooooooo tight its not even funny. You can't even push in on them at all! After a nice brake in these are some monsters. They really do put down for what there are for real. Ill be posting so picks and a update after a firm brake in time has past. But the do look nice as can be for a 8in sub. ... show more

It almost gets up to the level of my Pioneer Champion 12, although this sub is in a very nice box while the 12 is in one that's a bit more budget oriented...plus, the 12 isn't really being maxed out but I digress. Very stiff on arrival. Maybe it needs a long break in. With any power it cracks and pops. The worst initial experience with a subwoofer ever! I will try to get it setup and broken in before I decide to return. I should have gone with a different model or brand maybe. I love RF products and wanted to keep with the family. It is installed in a custom sealed box that is about .25 cf. Next few days will tell but right now I am not happy. My door speakers seem to over power this sub. Mine may be broken because it does sound good at very low volume. With any more volume beyond 1/3 it cracks and pops. I'm only @ about 250w. Update: I returned it on Aug 21. I am still waiting for my return as of Sep 17. UPS lost it I guess. Update 2: Sept 29, still have not got a refund. Not happy. Update 3: Amazon finally refunded the order. Seller was having difficulty with UPS and couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it in a reasonable time. Not sure this was the fault of the seller or not. They were very slow to respond and each time it seemed like the first time I contacted them. ... show more

This item and it's performance has nothing to do with this review it's the Amazon company and there handling of there merchandise. Box was wet ,damaged and my stickers and birth sheet was missing. Speaker is fine I hope won't know till I try it out . Very disappointed with the way my electronics have been comming this is the third speaker order and the last from here . Boxes 📦 are tossed around and not cared for. Was opened and tapped back up . ... show more

    • Finally figured out this Sub's issue!

I was getting really bad buzzing and poor performance on this sub and had no clue what was going on with them for a while. I tried several things like remounting them and was just about to buy a bigger amp when I noticed that the factory Rockford Fosgate 8" speaker grills I had bought with them were riding the edge of the rubber surround. After this speaker breaks in the rubber expands quite a bit and eventually started riding against the edge of the grill. The clearance looked fine when I first put the grill on but after break in there was zero clearance left. So when buying grills double check and make sure they are for your model speakers. The earlier grills will fit but they will not accommodate the movement of the newer RF speakers. Also these speakers would sound much better with more than 250 watts. (Old review) I have been using this Sub for around 2 years and they either need a ton more power or it's just a low sound quality speaker. I am running a pair of them on a Rockford Fosgate R500X1D Prime amp which should be a decent match. I had a pair of P2D28, the previous version of this speaker in almost the exact same configuration and they were KILLER! I pounded the crap out of those until the foam suspension gave out! So far these have been a BIG disappointment :( I am most likely gonna buy a more powerful amp and if they don't perform then, they are going in the garbage where they belong and then I'm going with some JL 8"s because I already built the custom box for 8's and it's what fits in the space. Rockford usually has really high quality stuff at an affordable price but this is definitely a "sub" standard product so far. They should switch back to the P2D28 design configuration, it kicks the hell out of this piece of crap! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I got 7 years of hard use out of those P2D28's. ... show more
