The media could not be loaded. Roborock S8 Max Ultra – One Week In: A Real-World Review I’ve been using the Roborock S8 Max Ultra for about a week now, right after moving into my new home. Overall, the experience has been smooth and impressive. 📶 Setup & Wi-Fi Connection During the initial setup, I did run into a common issue: the robot only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Since my home network used a combined 2.4GHz/5GHz band, I had to split the bands and connect the robot to the 2.4GHz network manually. Once I did that, the pairing process was straightforward. 🧹 Cleaning Performance My house has laminate flooring throughout and tiled bathrooms. Right now, we don’t have a lot of furniture, but the robot has done a great job navigating around chair and table legs, accurately detecting and avoiding them with its obstacle avoidance system. I ran two separate cleaning tasks: a full-house vacuum at standard intensity and a full-house mopping. The vacuuming performance was solid—it picked up hair and small debris effortlessly. Some corners were a bit hard to reach, but that’s pretty typical for any robot vacuum. The mopping was also impressive: the floor was noticeably cleaner without being left too wet. 🤖 Smart Features That Impressed Me Two things stood out in a good way: 1. When vacuuming the small bathroom rug, the robot not only detected it accurately but also cleaned it without shifting it out of place. 2. It successfully recognized and marked clusters of charging cables and even a bathroom scale on the app’s map—which was surprisingly accurate. ⚠️ One Minor Flaw The only issue I’ve encountered so far was in my study. The robot detected the modem’s power cable lying on the floor but still spent a little too long cleaning around it, eventually pulling the plug out. I plan to set a no-go zone in that area for future cleanings, which should solve the problem. ✅ Verdict All in all, this was a very worthwhile purchase. The S8 Max Ultra has taken care of the majority of my floor cleaning needs and saved me a ton of time and effort.     • Best robot vacuum I’ve ever owned

This is the third robot vacuum I’ve purchased in the last six months, and it’s hands-down the best — the one we’re finally sticking with. My first two (one from Dreame and one from Roomba) either broke within weeks or had disappointing performance. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra blows them both away. Performance & Cleaning Quality We have a large main floor (~2,500 sq ft) with a mix of hardwood and carpet, plus a short-haired dog that sheds constantly. This vacuum makes it feel like we don’t even have a pet. It picks up hair, dirt, and debris effortlessly, and I’m amazed at how intelligently it adjusts — lifting the mop pads on hardwood, lowering them for carpet, and delivering a thorough clean every time. I run it nightly for vacuuming and once a week for mopping, and it hasn’t missed a beat. Smart Features & App Experience The Roborock app is fantastic — easy to use, highly customizable, and perfect for both scheduled and ad hoc cleanings. I can set detailed room parameters, surface types, and cleaning schedules, or send it for a quick spot clean with just a tap. The mapping and navigation are spot-on, and it’s smart enough to clean efficiently without getting lost. The Only Downside If I had to nitpick, the clean water reservoir could be larger. For my big main floor, a full vacuum + mop run uses nearly all the water, so I refill it after each large mopping job. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. Bottom Line This is a true workhorse — powerful, intelligent, and reliable. After two failed vacuums, I can confidently say the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is worth every penny.     • First time owner and I am beyond impressed

Good morning, This is my first robot. I read tons of website and watched many YouTube videos. I decided on Roborock due to their warranty, state-of- art technology and the big one, the app. This was really important because I hate headaches. I thought I had my mind made up with the Qrevo after a couple weeks of research and ordered it…but canceled it before shipping after watching and reading more, so I ordered the S7 Max Ultra…but I continues to read reviews and canceled this one before it shipped too. I wanted the best. The latest and greatest technology and ordered the S8 MaxV Ultra. It has been amazing. I had none of the WiFi issues some reviews talk about, and the app was a breeze to set up for this technology-challenged man. Once I got it up and running, it mapped out my place like a new dog in the house. It was cool. I loved the apps features and options. It is awesome that you can change about every feature. I wish the voice volume came a little lower out of the box, but once I found that setting, it was all good. I figured out the app without ever opening the instruction manual. It is intuitive. Also, I was so impressed with the cleaning. The suction is as good as my Dyson. My carpet is a few months old, but it made it look showroom good. I thought that the high suction would kill battery life, but it did not. Also, when the carpet was installed, I also replaced the floor. It is bringing out more beauty and shine to it than when it was installed. Just a ridiculously easy, effective, and simple to use robot. Finally, I had a shipping issue and the customer service was outstanding too. No waiting on hold, they emailed me while I was on the phone to make sure that I got it, then solved the problem after one email from me explained it. All in all, I will never go without one of these again. I cannot say enough about the robot or the customer service. Beyond impressed. ... show more
