  • (video is just me using it, no other content in vid) Fun, Compact, Great Skill curve.
Style: Old Version
I am not a pro, or am, or even very good so if you are a high level striker, this review probably doesnt help you... This is a great little bag to have fun with and get a good sweat going. its great for finding timing, rhythm, and distance. it also forces you to keep your head moving or your hand up (sometimes both). Its not a heavy bag so don't expect to giving it hail mary's, and its not a speed bag so don't expect to be daping the ice picks. its like a heavier free standing cousin of a double ended bag. originally I had it set up in my living room with weights on the base. that was noisy and unstable. i filled the base with water and moved it to the garage where it performed much better. the only times i have had any stability issues is when i was popping it harder than i really should have. i would guess ive put about about 120 3:30 rounds in on it. I had the graphics rub off on maybe my 60th round and i have to re tighten the pole into the base once out of every maybe 20-25 rounds. the spring, base, and bag itself are all in very good condition. i really have no complaints. one thing that i have been really enjoying is the skill curve on this bag. this bag give opportunities get off some wild off angle punches, fun counters, and interestingly timed combos. ... show more

  • Seems solid Seems solid
Style: Improved Material
I got the enhanced materials version. Seems very solid. I put about 140lbs of sand on it and it's not moving. At a low setting it has quick bounce back and at the 6 foot head level it's a little slower but not too slow that it's annoying. Good workout. Note: As another reviewer mentioned, it does take hours to put the sand in. It took me about 4 hours to squeeze the sand into it. It would have been much easier with water but I live in a cold climate and didn't want it to freeze and potentially burst when we move it to the garage. ... show more

  • Good sturdy workout equipment Good sturdy workout equipment
Style: Old Version
Good quality product, stable and firm enough to do the job. Great workout equipment for cardio and beginner boxing. One problem is with the fill hole, too small to fill without spilling. Best fill in is with combo sand and water. You don't need to overfill, base is stable and wide to keep it steady during workout. Other issue is, I had to drill a small hole at the bottom to keep the spring from coming out of the socket and screw it in place a small machine screw. Reflex bag itself can take the hit, the spring is quite sturdy and strong to give it a good bounce. I would recommend a buy for the money. ... show more

  • Much Better than the Everlast Reflex Bag
Style: Old Version
This is a fantastic reflex bag! I've also owned an Everlast reflex bag and I like this one much more. In comparison to the Everlast bag, this one has a much stronger spring so it moves faster and can actually provide some resistance. The shape of the bag also allows you to work on uppercuts, which is harder to do with the Everlast bags. My only complaint is that the fastening mechanism that allows you to set the height of the bag is not very good. If you don't tighten it super tight, the bag will either come flying off in the middle of a workout or it'll slowly slink down in height as it loosens with each hit. This forces you to tighten the fastener so tight that it's inconvenient for a quick adjustment in the middle of a workout and also fastening it super tight damages the post attached to the bag. I had a similar problem with my Everlast bag. Keeping the bag secure required overtightening, which eventually led to the pole getting so heavily dented that the bag lists to one side. So far that doesn't appear to be happening to my Ringside bag, but the pole is starting to get dinged up. ... show more

  • Best in the game for the price
Style: Old Version
I was looking online for a cobra bag and wanted a fast one, i learned soon enough that u had to spend at least 150$+ so i tried looking for cheaper options and saw products like the everlast reflex bag, i saw a video on it and it seemed too slow so i kept looking and found this one, this one is a faster more sturdier version. You can hit it and it will definitely bounce back fast, you can do enough oh a combination, sometimes if u hit it hard enough it will give you a second to react but over all it’s a great product. Easy to assemble everything is pretty self explanatory and the punching bag feels great to hit, very satisfying i love it and 100% recommend for the price definitely the best one if your budget is 100$ and below. ... show more

  • The Bag itself is cheap and will break easily. The Bag itself is cheap and will break easily.
Style: Old Version
I loved it at first, the ball at the top had a head-like weight to it and was nice, until a few days later the ringside logo came off easily after a few straights & jabs. I ignore that, cause its just a logo right? It doesn't affect much, but here we are now after hitting the bag for about a month and a half the bag is developing rips towards the bottom of itself due to taking punches like it's job is supposed to do. It's obviously a cheaper material because it couldn't handle my strikes and I took it pretty light on this reflex bag. Hopefully looking forward to a refund or replacement bag that's more durable and not going to deteriorate when performing the action it's supposed to. And if you're looking for a bag to combo on?, This is NOT the one the spring is too low towards the bottom so it's more of a stick and move/wait. (Little update on the last picture with the ball off: So it had one more strike left before it broke. I hit it one time since making this review and it's completely done. I'll for sure be expecting a refund.) ... show more

  • Outstanding
Style: Old Version
Let me premise by saying I'm a 40-something guy trying to get back into shape, and definitely not a Golden Gloves contender. With that being said, after a month's use, I think this reflex bag is outstanding. The first thing I noticed is this bag has more "springback" than I thought it would. The recoil appears to be a little faster than other brands of a similar price point. In my opinion, this is a good thing, since you will want to be challenged after using it for awhile. The punching bag itself is a dense foam, so no need to worry about pumping it with air. I highly recommend wearing handwraps at the minimum, as it is a rather firm bag. I use wraps and 14 oz gloves, and am able to execute crisp, snappy punches with no knuckle pain. As for the base, it is designed to be filled up to 125 lbs. with water or sand. I used water, and have had no problems with the unit moving during my workout. One note on the spring that connects to the base - it has a tendency to get loose. I remedied this with a small piece of duct tape on the threads. Have not had it come loose since. In closing, I would absolutely recommend the Ringside Fitness Reflex Bag, especially over the more popular brands that you see at your local sporting goods store. ... show more

Works well. Is a good workout. IS NOT fast enough for advanced training but still works great.
