  • Great Enhancement Of Our Home Security!
Color: Venetian Bronze Configuration: with Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen)
We have wanted a Ring Video Camera Doorbell for some time. Black Friday provided us with the perfect opportunity to acquire one at a very reasonable price. Bundled with the Echo Show 5 (3rd Generation) made our investment all the more rewarding. This Video Camera Doorbell works great! Imo, the 1080p HD wired video quality is exceptional. Audio is great too. It is paired to a family member's cell phone so when out of the house, we may still monitor what is happening at our front door. The Video Camera Doorbell is also paired to the Echo Show 5, assisted by Alexa, making in home monitoring convenient and enjoyable. Our original purpose for investing in a Ring Video Camera Doorbell was to enhance our home security. A family member recommended the Echo Show 5 as it was on sale during Black Friday at an irresistible price, especially bundled with the Doorbell Video Camera. Needless to say, the Echo Show 5 and Alexa afford so much more than alerting us to what is happening at our front door. There are microphones so one may converse with whomever may be there if desired. And then ..... one may request to listen to a favorite music album or just a single song, watch a movie, make a grocery list, set up your Smart Home, ask Alexa almost anything you may ask of Google and the list goes on and on. We greatly underutilize the Echo Show 5, but we have time to look into all that it offers and set it up accordingly. Our immediate concern was enhancing our home security. It seems our world has become a much more dangerous place almost over night. We are very happy with the additional peace of mind the Ring Video Camera Doorbell affords us. We highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Loss of connectivity-FIXED
Color: Satin Nickel Configuration: Doorbell only
I was contacted by an Executive Community Support Representative for Ring shortly after posting my original review. The Support Agent was incredibly helpful in resolving the connectivity issue. It turns out the gauge of my original doorbell wires are too old to support modern devices. I had the same issue when trying to connect a Smart Thermostat. The loss of connectivity was due to fluctuations with the battery power due to the outdated wires. The Ring Rep sent me a an electrical outlet adapter free of charge since I have an outdoor electrical outlet located just below my doorbell. That solved the wifi connectivity issue. I did have other issues since my Doorbell is also sideway facing. The Ring Rep did everything possible to help me with that issue as well. Now, the Ring Doorbell is working flawlessly. With out a doubt, this was the best customer service experience I have ever had with any company. The Ring Support Staff are fantastic and worked diligently to make me a satisfied customer. I am now a huge Ring fan and a very happy customer. I would recommend all customers with any issues with their Ring device contact Ring Support, they will correct any and all issues. Ring has customer support down to a science. Everything is as advertised. Great video, great app. However, the complaints about losing wifi connectivity is a very real thing. It happens for absolutely no reason, I have incredible, reliable Internet and wifi. The instructions say to place the wifi router close to the doorbell with no walls between it. I live in a house, a structure with walls like a normal house. I don't live in a tent. The router is extremely close to the doorbell, there are windows and everything. The Ring still loses WiFi connection frequently. This problem with Ring needs to be fixed. ... show more

  • Work great with my chime and gives really view.
Color: Venetian Bronze Configuration: Doorbell only
Bought two of these for my rural property. After having to evict my farm hand I learned not to let him set it up on his app but that's working out. It will transfer after two weeks. On the main farmhouse I exchanged the regular chime door bell with a ring doorbell and can't be happier. It works with my chime, gives me a great view of the actvity from the road to the house. Im planning to add cameras for each of the barns. Easy to set up and very reasonable subscription. ... show more

  • Not bad for an old model.
Color: Satin Nickel Configuration: Doorbell only
The 2nd generation Ring doorbell is a decent product overall, but it does have some drawbacks. The installation process can be a bit tricky, especially if you're not tech-savvy. The video quality is good during the day, but it can be grainy and have lag at night. The motion detection can be a bit too sensitive and may pick up on things like passing cars or trees swaying in the wind, leading to unnecessary notifications. On the positive side, the 2nd gen Ring doorbell does allow for two-way communication, so you can talk to delivery people or visitors even when you're not at home. The app is user-friendly and allows you to easily access and review footage from the doorbell. The device also has a sleek and modern design that looks nice on any home. Overall, the 2nd gen Ring doorbell is a solid option for a video doorbell, but it does have some room for improvement in terms of video quality and motion detection settings. ... show more
