    • Great quality camera for fair price, but poor human detection
The first one we got delivered was damaged (microphone and speaker). It took a lot of time working with the supplier to show that it was defective before I got the go ahead to return it and get another one. The next one we got was perfect! Here is what we like: Love that there is no monthly fee for subscription! The quality of the video is perfect and the night vision is good. The field of vision is good, but even though I installed it exactly the right height, it does not show my porch (only just a portion), so I can't see if there is a package. No worries because it will detect the motion and I can see if someone brings a package to the door. I like that there is a 2-way audio and you can use pre-recorded messages. I love that it has a long range sensor on it compared to other doorbell cameras. The packing was very nice and organized! Now here is the areas that I would like to see improved. The first is it should come with an option for an extra SD card slot. I thought I saw a video that it comes with it, but I could not find that model. All models should have this feature (I would of paid extra money for this feature)! Next improvement area which a BIG problem is Human detection is extremely poor. Either a flag moving or a shadow should not trigger it to go off! I have the intelligent notifications on and that does not help. The current solution is I have to setup zones for a specific area so a tree or flag blowing does not trigger it to go off. There is nothing I can do with shadows. This has to be improved! It frustrates me that I have to limit the detection area because it does so poorly with human detection. Now the other option that needs improving (it does a good job, but not a great job). It tags "lingering" if people are walking at a good pass down the sidewalk. That should be flagged as "Passing". I would say 30% of the time it will get it wrong. So in summary, this camera is very good quality for a fair price with no subscription. I am hoping the company can fix via firmware/software for the human detection and the types of notifications such as passing or lingering, etc. Once that is corrected then you can begin to add additional features (improve camera so it has more view downward to see more of the porch, option to set off an alarm via phone to scare a lingering person, add small light that will turn on at night). This is hands down the best video doorbell that I have ever owned! It is not perfect, but pretty close to it. It has the best image quality of any doorbell that I have used and so far has never missed recording me entering or exiting my front door. The specs say that it is a 5MP sensor which would make this a 2K camera, which is sharper and clearer than most of the other 1080p doorbell cameras. The camera has a night vision setting if you are using it in a very dark area with no ambient light, but I chose to turn that feature off. There is enough ambient lighting around my front door to give me a nice clear color image without having to use the black & white night vision as you can see in the attached night time screen shot taken by the doorbell. The screen shots from the video feed come out perfectly and I really like how they assign their own folders in the image gallery on my phone for both the still shots and the video clips that I download. The internal storage size on the doorbell's receiver is more than sufficient for my needs and I would think plenty large enough for most people. The only slight negative that I can find so far its that there is about a 1.5 to 2 second delay in the audio coming through the app from a visitor at the front door. When the doorbell rings I click the notification on my phone & I have a nearly instant video connection to the person at my door. They can hear me clearly talking to them through the app on my phone and I can hear them clearly talking back to me, but when they speak, the speech to me is delayed by about 1.5 to 2 seconds. It's not that big of a deal, but something to be aware of. I could see them addressing this in a future firmware update. The only other thing that I would like to see improved is being able to have a few choices for the notification tone. I would like to have it selectable in the app and to be able to adjust the volume of it in the app as well. Using my Galaxy S21 Ultra there is no way to change the doorbell's notification tone that I can find. These are minor issues and greatly overshadowed by the performance of this video doorbell. In conclusion I think that this is a GREAT video doorbell at a fair price and am very glad I purchased it! I would recommend it to anyone who asks. ... show more

    • Good camera video when it loads
I wanted a camera that didn’t have a monthly fee to use it. More money up front for the camera compared to other brands but I don’t need to pay $5+/month just to have the doorbell camera. There is an option to pay for a cloud service with this camera but I haven’t found a need for it. The camera has a decent amount of data storage already and I don’t keep many videos since most of the videos are my neighbors walking by. I liked that this doorbell camera also had the indoor chime unit for inside the apartment since I noticed other brands either needed to be wired into an existing doorbell to be heard inside or the doorbell only chimed from the unit outside. There’s three different chime sounds to pick from but I wish I could made the indoor chime a tad louder. Overall, I think this doorbell works well for what we need/want. I just wish it was easier to l load video footage when I get the video alerts when I’m at work. I’m not sure if it’s my work wifi-network or if it’s the camera, but I get a lot of errors trying to load them so I have to take my phone off the work WiFi and try reloading on my phone data. ... show more
