  • Ring does it again
Color: Black Configuration: Wired Floodlight
Nice flood light with warm light and not too bright like some others. Install was straight forward and very easy. Motion detection is good and if you have a ring hub you can hook it to the Ring app and adjust everything on the app such as motion detection zones and sensitivity, the time the lights are on. Over all easy install, connection to the app and up and running in no time. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Bright light
Color: White Configuration: Wired Floodlight
I use this a a light in my shed. Works great and lights up the entire shed. Easy to install and use of batteries is a plus. Only negative is the amount of time the light can stay off. However it works well and the would buy again.

  • Works well - installation not the easiest
Color: White Configuration: Wired Floodlight
i had installed Ring floodlight cameras prior to installing the regular floodlights. Both the floodlight cams and regular floodlights work and integrate into the system well together. My only complaint so far (after 1 week of use) is that the installation of the regular floodlight is more tedious than the floodlight cam. My floodlight installation was complicated by a tall (second story) height. i was on an extension ladder with limited ability to reach everything easily. The main difficulty involved installing the very small fine thread machine screws that hold the unit to the base on the junction box. One has to hold the unit up in place with one hand while at the same time trying to start these small screws into a blind hole with the other. Kinda scary with no hands on the ladder up there. Very easy to do at ground level but hard on top of a second story ladder. This design should be changed somehow to make that easier for a homeowner to do and to provide more spares screws in case they tumble down to the ground (which they will). The fasteners on the floodlight cam were hex nuts that were much easier to work with. In summary i can recommend these lights for their intended purpose, but if you have an application that is on a second story or otherwise have difficulty reaching consider hiring an electrician to install them. ... show more

  • Changed rating to a 5 star after a recent update - they aren't perfect... but they are 95%!
Color: White Configuration: Wired Floodlight
If I had one item to put on a "wish list" for them - it would be a button (wireless / micro), I could mount on my wall to just turn them on and off without the need for the phone. I know I can talk to Alexa, but a button is not a bad thing! after recent update: you can now turn them on and off all night / you can set schedules for them - the motion sensor could be a little better - but we utilize the other lights to trigger these lights. we will be purchasing more of these... I would like the option to dim the flood light - there is still no "dusk to dawn" option - but ... maybe it will come with another update! OLD REVIEW: these work fine for basic motion at night - we don't have trees near us, so the motion sensor works fine on default - the issue I have is with the lack of customization - for example: no dusk to dawn light option - no ability to control the brightness - no ability to just turn them on and leave them on all night - not sure why - hopefully there will be an upgrade - the hub is also 95% accurate - most of the time it works fine, but the other day, I went to turn the lights on manually and could not connect - had to walk down and unplug the hub / then it worked fine again. just an opinion ... show more

  • Years Later—Still One of the Best Smart Floodlights Out There
I installed the Ring Smart Lighting Wired Floodlight a few years ago, and it’s been one of the most reliable outdoor lights I’ve ever owned. It’s extremely bright—more than enough to light up my driveway and yard—and the motion detection is accurate without being overly sensitive. What really stands out is the long-term durability. After several seasons of snow, rain, wind, and heat, it still works like day one. Being hardwired means no battery hassle, and once it was set up and connected to the Ring app via the Bridge, it’s been easy to manage and adjust. If you're already using Ring devices or just want a dependable smart floodlight that lasts, this one’s worth every penny. I’ve had zero issues, and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. ... show more

I installed two new floodlights within 30 minutes. The installation instructions are super-easy to follow. The two lights are super-bright. Adding the light to the Ring app was flawless and fast. I

  • Not bad, but missing some critical features for me
Color: Black Configuration: Wired Floodlight
It took me a while to figure out what I wanted from outdoor floodlights but it boiled down to a couple of very simple things - controllable via phone and dimmable. Honestly, I find the embedded motion sensors in floodlights to be pretty aggravating since they are all different on different fixtures and highly dependent on angle, etc. If find myself constantly waving at the motion detectors if I want the lights to stay on for more than a few minutes... And it is no different on the Ring fixture. After tinkering with the Ring floodlights, I ended up returning them and going with standard floodlights with no sensors (on/off only) and Lutron Caseta Dimmers. I couldn't be happier. These lights are ok, but, for my usage, they can turn on only for 15 minutes max if you want an on/off mode. The app also isn't as nice as Lutron's, where one can create scenes (e.g., late night backyard chats - dim lighting), (e.g., evening backyard work - bright lighting) and schedules (e.g., turn on at outdoor lights at low setting at sunset to provide landscape lighting). Another drawback of these lights is the range of motion of the individual lights, they cannot be angled to the side. The only advantage I see about these lights vs. traditional floodlights with caseta switches is if you are already invested in the Ring system with the doorbell and alarm system. This is a nice way to integrate it all together in one app and have them trigger each other. And if you really care about motion sensing, then this is another plus in this column (even though it is finicky). While I do care about motion sensing, it ultimately wasn't as important to me. I may eventually try to hack it out with a separate motion detector (maybe the Hue one) and Apple Homekit. But if, like me, you mostly care about on/off capabilities, phone control and dimming, these are not the lights for you. ... show more
