It’s been almost 2 months so that adjustment period is over (thank God) and I actually stay asleep throughout the night now. I initially experienced terrible back and neck pains in the first month but I’m pain-free now with virtually no tossing and turning according to my Fitbit. I find I’m most comfortable sleeping on my back, this could be due to the cold weather stiffening up the foam material causing it to be firmer than what it will be in the summer. There wasn’t a weird smell or off-gassing when first unwrapped, but I wanted to let it expand for 24 hours as this is crucial with memory foam mattresses. No sagging, no indentations, no complaints! There are many reviews that say this mattress is soft but it is definitely firm. I prefer medium and saw people said there’s a good flexible bounce atop a firm base so I thought I’d find that happy medium here. It is comfortable for side sleeping- my shoulder sinks in enough but I roll onto my back in the night and I woke up with a stiff lower back because the firmness around my hips didn’t allow them to sink in enough. I’m a lightweight sleeper so if you’re a heavier sleeper this might not be a problem for you, but it was so stiff for me that it caused pain. I’m not really someone who feels pain from a mattress easily either. I kept the mattress, however, because it is in fact so structurally sound, and added a 2 inch memory foam topper to reduce that stiffness. ... show more

Mattress 2: Staying at a relatives house who needs help and have had to sleep on an old mattress for a month and I could barely stand up straight from back pain. I decided to just buy another mattress even if I’m only going to use it for a few months. Night 2 and I’ve finally actually slept. After the first night where the mattress was still a little soft - I still slept better than the last month and the relief from pain was obvious!!! Previous review for mattress 1: So far, I love it! The bottom of the mattress is a little grippy and the mattress doesn’t slide on my frame. Love the quality casing that comes off for cleaning. Feels supportive. Solid quality. Good choice. Had this mattress for about a year without issue. It was decent to sleep on, nothing super fantastic, but definitely not painful or uncomfortable. Then I spilled some soda on the bed, so I unzipped the mattress cover to throw it in the washing machine. What was supposed to be a convenient benefit of this mattress turned out to be my worst nightmare. There's a fiberglass layer used as a fire retardant just underneath. It's supposed to be kept safe from spilling out in a "fire sock" but over time this can apparently wear out and the fiberglass will break apart inside the mattress cover. These shards are very small and if you don't have a light pointed at them, very easily missed. By the time I realized, I was already going to put the now "clean" mattress cover back on after pulling it out of the dryer. Fiberglass in my washer and dryer, all over my bedframe, the walls, the floors, my clothes, curtains, pictures, carpet, everything you can imagine, I found fiberglass there. It's in the air and been circulating around my house. I've gone through hell for a week trying to clean it up, breathing this stuff in, had to buy special equipment and I'm still struggling to get it all. NOWHERE is fiberglass mentioned in the description on Amazon for this mattress, and the manufacturer doesn't just go out of their way to give up this information when asked. Google search Casper mattress and fiberglass, I'm not the first person this has happened to, and won't be the last. Can it be okay as long as you don't take the cover off? Maybe, but do you really want to risk it? There's probably going to be a class-action lawsuit over this, run away! Get something without toxic materials if you can, I'm switching to a Nolah mattress myself. ... show more
