  • Much better resolution at a distance
Color: Black Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
Replaced my front door floodlight cam with this newest model. It has "Retinal 4K" video (some sort of Apple technology), so the video is much sharper than the older 2K models. Full-screen, you probably won't notice much of a difference, but my front door is about 100ft from the street on our one acre lot. The Retinal 4K allows me to zoom in on the video without pixelation, providing the resolution to identify people at my front gate. The older 2K cam just provided a blurry pixelated image. Is it THAT much better to justify the cost? Not really. My neighbor is an elderly lady and country punks were egging her house. So I upgraded my front door to 4K and installed my 2K rig on her front porch. She doesnt have internet, but my T-mobile router, coupled with my Google Mesh pushes enough bandwidth to her house to keep it online. Also bought some cheap solar LED motion lights and installed them on her gate. The teenager punks no longer mess with her property as they can clearly see she has an electronic fortress, capable of providing incriminating evidence to the local sheriff's office. So should you purchase this? If you have the older 2K unit and a standard ¼ acre residential subdivision lot, probably not worth it. If you need the resolution improvement, then yes it's absolutely worth it. If you have no camera, then this is pretty much top of the line (for now). ... show more

  • Ring Floodlight Cam Pro
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
Very clear camera, easy installation just like previous model. Looks to be sealed better from the elements too. Wide viewing area with light, microphone, adjustable motion zones... very cool. The light really seams to cover a larger area than before and both lights can be adjusted in a customizable aiming area. I bought two and am very happy with the first one. Will install the second one soon! ... show more

  • $1K invest in Ring flood light camar & all I wound up with, was, NO VIDEO, NO SUPPORT
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
I have 7 ring flood light camera and 4 Wi-Fi range extender to the cost of about $!K. I pay for a year's subscription of video archiving. The last flood light camera I purchased was their new 4K floodlight camara for $279. It was plagued with software problem but I finally got it working. Because it was a new camera added to my account, it came up as a 30-day free trial of the ring video app. I call the Ring team (which takes about 30 minutes to get a representative) and they told me that when the trial ended it would automatically roll over to my yearly subscription. When the new flood cameras 30-day trial ended, all my cameras when off line. I call Ring and again waited about 30 minutes to get a representative. They told me it was just coincidental that the cameras when off line and the same time the 30-day trial period ended, for the new 4K flood camara. They told me it was because I had a 2 gig Wi-Fi and that I needed to call my Wi-Fi service to up it to 2.4 gig and everything would be fine. So, I had the Wi-Fi changed to 2.4 gig. Camaras still off line. Called Ring again ( on hold for about 30 minutes). I was told my Wi-Fi signal was to week. I told them my cameras were working fine up to my trial period ending for the new 4K flood camera. They told me that the signal was to week and that I needed Wi-Fi rang extenders. I told them that I already had 4 range extenders. They told me that each flood cam needed a range extender within 10 feet of the flood cam. I took an extender, put it on an extension cord and held within 1 foot of the flood cam. Rebooted it and still no camera. They now said it was because my Wi-Fi pass word was not being recognized. I went through each camera, reset the password and still, to this day all my cameras are off line. MY ADVICE, IF YOU'RE GOING TO SPEND GOOD MONEY FOR SECURITY CAMERAS, PAY A LITTLE MORE AND GO WITH A COMPANY THAT OFFER ONSITE TECH SUPPORT. ... show more

  • Personal info gets shared.
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
These cameras work great. Very easy install and setup. I however didn’t At all appreciate that ring sold or at least shared my phone number with telemarketers that immediately started blowing up my phone with illegal offers for Medicare advantage programs. These calls are illegal!!! I later read the fine print on ring’s website and found that do share your personal information with “ partners “!!! Oh yeah!!! I get 30 to 40 calls per day now. Started within hours of my setup. If I could start over I would lie about my age. I have to keep my phone on silent now so it kinda screws up the whole idea of notifications that my cameras see something. Big downside!!! ... show more
