I absolutely love this camera! A friend recommended it to me, and honestly, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made for creating content. I had been wanting a camera like this for a long time, and I’m so happy I finally got it. I mainly use it for vlogging at home, and the image quality is incredible. The colors, the autofocus, and the stabilization are all amazing. I also love the 2-inch rotating touchscreen because it makes recording yourself so much easier. There are so many settings and options that you can really adjust the camera to get the look you want. One of my favorite things is how easy it is to carry. It’s lightweight, compact, and fits nicely in my purse, which is perfect for traveling or recording wherever I go. I also really like how it can blur the background when you get close to an object, especially when I’m filming things on my table. The one thing I would mention is that the lens is very delicate, so I recommend being careful with it and using a good protective case. The case I bought covers both screens, but it doesn’t completely protect the front of the camera. The tripod legs and the front protective piece also need to be purchased separately. When I first bought this, I thought "oh cool, it's just a small camera" - but honestly, this has completely changed the way I record video and create content. I dont say that lightly - prior to buying this, I'd purchased a Sony ZV-E10 - which is a VERY capable DSLR camera... and its great, but its also relatively large. And if I wanted to shoot with my sony, getting it out, setting it up, etc felt like... a lot. This DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is excellent. I get it out of its case, flip the screen, and I'm ready to record almsot instantly. What I also really like... is that it isnt my phone. Which feels weird to say, but I like having this as a separate device solely for recording video/taking photos. Im not distracted by notifications, I'm not worried about available space competing with apps and other things on my phone... its just a device for recording. Image stabalization is REALLY REALLY good, and the face tracking capability makes my video punch way above its weight class looking much better than I deserve credit for. Yes - I bought this AFTER the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 came out, but I honestly just didn't see enough reason to pay more for the 4. I even tested mine side by side with a friend who got the 4... and the differences were... not really noticeable. We even filmed a multi-cam event me with the 3, him with the 4... and when you cut the footage together, you honestly cant tell. If you're on the fence between this or a DSLR - get this. The image quality out of box beats the 4k recording capabilities of my ZV-E10 without all of the configuration required... on top of the fact that this is actually less expensive of a device and seemingly more capable. ... show more

I've had other mini-gimbal units and have to say the DJI just feels beefier and better. It focuses faster and just does everything else better. But - you HAVE to register it before the 5th use. If you don't, you have a paperweight until you do register it. So if you go on vacation with your new toy and have no internet, you are in trouble. This is my main complaint with every new DJI device. The app is not standards compliant and to get it to run is a bit tricky. If you already have it installed - I did - but it won't run - mine would not - you have to uninstall and download the APK from DJI using a QR code. You also have to change your security settings to allow the app to install. If you're into privacy or security, you will NOT like anything about the camera. After I went through all that on my Moto Edge 2023 the app ran fine. The first thing it did was download a firmware update. It works well and has very little lag. It uses an ad-hoc wifi network to connect to the phone, and it's all done with answering questions (allow to connect? etc.) Other stuff worth mentioning: The camera will power on and off when the screen is rotated. It's a battery hog. I went through 11% of the battery just setting it up and installing firmware. There's magnetic storage in the case for filters and a slide-in spot to keep their external mic. The "manual" reads like Ikea instructions and is all icons and arrows, and pretty useless. The included mount that snaps on the bottom is needed for using with a selfie stick or tripod, as there's no mounting threads on the gimbal - the threaded opening (1/4-20) is on the snap-on base. This also adds about 1 1/2" to the length. It's a combination of rubber, plastic and aluminum and is surprisingly heavy. The included case is handy, but does not cover the camera completely, and leaves the bottom and back totally exposed. It's not something I would just toss in a backpack or camera bag. You'll need to put it in a pouch or another case. Video quality is excellent, audio surprisingly good. The gimbal is FAST and there's a lot of features, from hyperlapse and timelapse, to 3x3 and 180 degree panoramic photos, although no 360 photos. Last night I shot some video at a 1920's themed dance. Very dark room, loud music with some heavy bass. I was amazed at the quality of the video and the clarity of the audio. ... show more

    • Loved the Camera… Until It Started Malfunctioning and Burned My Fingers!

I purchased the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 almost a month ago, and I was so excited about this camera after hearing so many great things about it. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. About a week ago, the camera randomly started refusing to turn on. Sometimes it would take four or five attempts before it would finally power up, causing me to miss several great moments I wanted to capture. I checked the battery, and that wasn’t the issue. Then, a few days ago, things got even worse. When I tried turning it on, the camera started twitching uncontrollably. I eventually gave up, but when I went to put it back in its bag, the camera was so HOT that it literally burned my fingers! That was extremely concerning, especially considering how expensive this camera is. I genuinely believe I may have received a defective unit because I’ve heard nothing but great things about the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I actually still want this camera! I simply wanted a replacement that works properly. Unfortunately, Amazon wouldn’t allow me to exchange it. Instead, I’m now stuck going through the return and refund process, which could take up to 30 days! So not only did I receive a malfunctioning camera, but now I have to wait potentially an entire month to get my money back before purchasing another one. For a camera at this price point, this entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. I really wanted to love it, and I’m still willing to give it another chance, but the overheating issue is a serious safety concern. I used the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 extensively on a Europe trip (including Scotland) and have continued using it regularly for my day-to-day YouTube channel, and it has been outstanding. The image quality is excellent, especially in mixed and low-light conditions, and the 3-axis gimbal stabilization is seriously impressive for such a small device. Walking shots, city footage, and handheld vlogging all come out smooth without any effort. The larger sensor and fast autofocus make a noticeable difference compared to previous generations. For travel, this camera was perfect—compact, quick to deploy, and discreet, yet capable of producing footage that easily matches much larger setups. Battery life was more than enough for full sightseeing days, and the built-in mic quality is surprisingly good for casual talking-head shots.
