I feel so much safer as a single mom with babies knowing when my doors and windows are being opened or when there’s motion in my hallway or when I’m away with the kids has brought me such a peace of mind!! It's really easy to install. No tech skills needed. Instructions are clear, what is rare nowadays. The Ring Alarm Pro comes with a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router. It works well, but coverage could be better. You can always buy extenders, but they are not cheap. I also miss some features, like setting a fixed Wi-Fi channel for 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz (one of my TVs only work on specific channels, so I had to use an Ethernet cable instead). The alarm part is good and integrates with a lot of other devices, like the Ring doorbell and cameras. I haven't tried the Ring Protect Pro yet, but it looks promising. ... show more

I have really enjoyed my Ring system. Plus it is compatible with Alexa and easily configurable. Creating routines for it is helpful and quick. The professional monitoring is very affordable in comparison to most alternatives. I have not needed to contact support so I cannot comment on that area. [Edit March 2023] Ring has now fixed the wifi issue that was causing the issue mentioned below. Ring has been very responsive to the wifi issue, kudos to them for addressing the issue and release a fix. Changing the rating. [Original Post] The integrated WiFi in the Ring Alarm Pro is terrible and completely ineffective. The range is poor and the connectivity is inconsistent. If you have many devices or are doing real time video streaming or gaming, be careful. I have now disconnected the Ring Alarm and am using a 5 year old wifi/router and getting much better performance. I called Ring technical support and they said that the router/wifi is not to be used with many connected devices. That would be fine if could use the Ring device as a second network, or event better yet, disable it. But, you can't disable the wifi and you need to use it as your primary wifi. So, you are forced to use their terrible wifi. I tried returning/exchanging the Alarm Pro basestation for just the regular one without the integrated wifi. Ring declined and told me to call Amazon. An extremely frustrating hour with Amazon support with three handoffs to other agents (and having to repeat the request) got me nowhere. I am now using the Alarm Pro wifi in Bridge mode with only one computer and the Ring devices connected to it. What a waste. The alarm itself is good. The setup for all the devices is easy and the app is nicely done. ... show more

Gave this a good 6+ month try, and it is going in the trash. I lose connection daily. Multiple times a day. Certain apps and websites never work. iOS devices specifically work worse than others. Range and signal are weak. When you lose connection it goes into cellular backup. Quickly eats through the free tiny amount of data, then begins to charge you. It is not easy to get off this cellular data mode or reset the device. This feature would be fine, but it is the device itself causing the failure, not your actual internet dropping out. Eero support has been worthless and each time they ultimately blame my ISP and modem. The funniest part, it barely functions with the ring equipment. 90% of the time I could not get a live view out of my cameras. Just got a “streaming error” Ring support said my signal was weak. By their own in app test, it was about as strong a signal as you could obtain. I put the cameras 2 inches from that router and they would not stream a live video. I switched back to an old 50$ Linksys router from Walmart I bought 3 years ago. Instantly doubled my speeds, and have not dropped connection in 2 weeks. The ring cameras also immediately started streaming again. Save yourself the trouble and just pick literally any other brand. This is one of the few bad reviews I’ve left in my life, but this thing is seriously awful. The strength of Amazon, Eero and Ring all combined to give you a bunch of worthless plastic. The media could not be loaded. I have another ring alarm system at my office, and it’s wonderful. Everything connects quickly and easily, and the ring alarm app is very intuitive. My issue with the ring alarm PRO, is that the system is required to replace your current router. I’m not a big fan of mesh wifi systems, but I decided to give it a try. EERO has many good reviews, but the biggest issue with mesh systems is the device switching between nodes. The eero router is missing some pro options. Another issue is the expectation that Alexa/ring would connect with everything else much easier. There is A LOT of fiddling with settings and groups and naming to get all the security pieces such as locks and cameras just right. Still a buy, but Amazon, please let the router work as a bridge and not replace the router. ... show more
