  • Reliable Ring!
Excellent and easy to install and set up

  • Seamless Integration and Reliable Central Hub for Ring System
The Ring Alarm Base Station 2nd Gen worked exactly as expected and connected seamlessly with the rest of the Ring ecosystem. Setting up through the Ring app was quick and straightforward, and adding sensors and accessories was very smooth. Everything connected to it without any issues. Sensors, keypads, and other Ring devices paired quickly and have remained stable since installation. It functions well as the central hub, keeping everything organized and easy to manage within the app. The build quality feels solid, and the built-in backup battery is a great feature for added reliability during power outages. The 104 dB siren is also loud and provides a strong alert if triggered. What stood out: • Seamless integration with Ring sensors and accessories • Easy setup and pairing process • Reliable central hub for Ring Alarm system • Built in backup battery for power outages • Loud 104 dB siren Overall, this base station is a dependable foundation for a Ring Alarm setup. Everything connected smoothly, and it provides strong performance and peace of mind. Highly recommended for anyone building or expanding a Ring security system. ... show more

  • Gotta have a Base from which to operate. The Heart of a system.
Bought a house that had a couple camera's, 2 keypads and several door/window sensors, but no base station. After jumping through the hoops with "RING" to get them transferred to me, I had to get the base to make it all happen. After getting it, I found the install and activation to be pretty easy. I did need to get a wi-fi extender to get signal to one of the cameras, but it's all good now. It is set to a daily "Mode" so it turns on/off at pre-set times and does so reliably. It even announces such in a soft female voice when changing. I also had Eufy cameras from my previous house and while I feel the video quality is better on them, they aren't very durable and I will be using Ring from here on out. It runs off my Internet network and connects to the router via an ethernet cable. ... show more

  • Good Option if You Do Not Want or Need the Router Version.
Works great with the rest of the system. Ours is wired (Ethernet), and if that or the power goes out, the cell backup kicks in fast and works well. We chose this older version because the newer router version isn't as good as our own router, so the extra money for that was unnecessary. I'm glad Amazon keeps this older version available. Good stuff. ... show more

  • Excellent
Our insurance required us to install a monitored smoke alarm system. Ring was the best value for the money. I purchased the smoke alarm listening device seperate. For a complex system Ring makes installation very easy. I really like the use of qr codes to connect new sensors

  • Worth It - Especially if You're Already Using Ring Devices
If you're already using Ring services like a doorbell or driveway light / surveillance cam, get this. I bought it just for a water sensor in the basement, in the event of a water heater tank issue. You can add the other security items later when ready, like alarm key pads for doors or entry sensors for windows. Everything is registered and monitored under their app in your account. Ring setup is always a breeze to do, aside from installing the devices that require wiring and possibly cutting into a wall like for a keypad. DIY if you know how or hire someone, of course. ... show more

  • Does what it claims
Works great - gave me a little challenge hooking up one of my 3 my smoke detectors (first alert 2nd gen) but a call to Ring fixed it- had to remove it from zwave. 4 stars only because there isn’t a way to disable the super loud alarm. I understand why not on the alarm itself, but the app should have that function ... show more

  • Amazon customer service for the win
Ring is a wonderful system… if you like getting ripped off. I give it zero stars. Let me explain to you how the Ring system works. It’s like going to the car dealership and buying a car but when you get to the parking lot, you notice that the wheels are missing, and so is the steering wheel and the pedal. So you turn around to ask the salesclerk why and they tell you that you have to buy those separately. So now your “car” is basically useless unless you pay more and what you initially thought was going to cost X dollars in the end actually ended up costing you X + $$$. That’s Ring in a nutshell. They hide everything behind subscriptions and separate modules and devices and every important function that is needed to make an alarm work is sold separately. It’s deceptive marketing and corporate greed! Please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! Amazon customer service was superb in helping though. ... show more
