  • Working
Style: Small Color: Black
I first got a inguinal hernia in the mid 1970’s. For whatever the reason back then, just rested and it went away. I had forgotten about it, and in the 1980’s had a very physical job with lots of exertion. No hernia or sign of it. Then starting in the latter 80’s, started going to the gym and used free weights on regular basis for decades. No issues with hernia until 2022 when it reappeared out of nowhere. Then I remembered I had it way back when. It isn’t a very large bulge, and doesn’t hurt. Doctor said not to worry unless something changes. I asked about a truss and he said I could try one. Wanted to get the Uriel as I read great things about it. But not available in my size. Somewhere along the way clicking and reading saw something about the Flexamed being a newer version of - I believe - the Uriel. At any rate, purchased a small and medium. The small is the one I use the most. I’m small…33” measurement around hips. But the medium also works for me. After finally figuring out the leg strap (bring it under and then straight up through the belt/truss…works very well. It’s comfortable..well..considering..but seems to work keeping things in place. I still work out and cycle and do yoga and other exercise regularly.. Sometimes I use this during workouts, sometimes not. Rarely if ever sleep with it on. Would still like to compare to the Uriel if it’s ever available again. But would recommend giving this one a go. There are others that look good too, but some have a very large pad which I don’t think would work well for me. The pad on this is just enough to put ample pressure where needed. ... show more

  • A sock helps
Style: Large Color: Black
I'm about 38" or 98 cm and my hernia is lower abdominal. The large size is OK and the medium is also OK - Pretty tight - but not uncomfortable. In either one, I put a soft wool sock rolled up inside the cup to put on extra pressure on the exact spot. With this on, I can go through the day in no pain - a huge help. Well-made and seems durable so far after a few weeks. ... show more

  • Works well for supporting hernia. No issulles there. Sizing seems to be a small issue though.
Style: Medium Color: White
I ordered med for a 34-35” waist and the waistband had to be totally snugged on tightest setting. The strap that goes through your crotch and up and across your butt had to be pulled through the waistband and wrapped around it before securing. It’s almost like they mislabeled a large and sent me that. Anyway, I washed it in a washing machine warm cycle, and med heat dry cycle and it shrunk a bit. I repeated this 3 times and now the thing fits properly. So if yours is too loose, it’s easy to fix. The cost seems a bit excessive for such a simple thing (a jockstrap is $10-15 in the sports store). I am trying a cheaper brand for the second one i’m getting, just so I can have a clean spare. It really does work to support the hernia. I have backed off on really gut wrenching activity, and I take it easy in the weight room. I still play hockey, run, hike, motorcycle off road etc, but I ask for help lifting truly heavy things now.(until the surgery this winter) ... show more

  • Works well.
Style: Medium Color: Black
I had no issues with the Velcro or fit. I did end up adding material to the pocket that applies the pressure, the original material understandably compressed after some time. Be cautious - I can see how a product like this could create an opportunity for the opposite side to form another hernia.

  • Make sure you do your research before you buy.
Style: Large Color: Black
For the most part, the product was so-so. When it arrived, I bent down to pick up the package off the ground. I know you can't judge the book by its cover, and that dynamite comes in small packages. It arrived in a little, flimsy, beautifully illustrated extremely thin cardboard box approx. 6"x6"x2" thick that has a very high gloss finish to it. Along with instructions clearly printed on the backside of the box; that hardly weighs anything. My first impression was, I got ripped off! But like I said, you can't judge the book by its cover. Upon opening it, (though it hardly weighed anything), to be honest with you, it is of quality. Upon trying it on ("without") connecting the strap, it felt good; and it really did help with the hernia that was protruding and it did help with the pain, and discomfort. But to be honest with you, I purchased this item because Amazon rated it as their choice though it only had a little over 1700 likes. I may end up purchasing another one soon from another brand/Company that has a little bit over 5800 likes that's also rated #1 which I think may be better. The only, only, reason why I wasn't 100% totally satisfied with this particular item, was, because it's poorly designed. Perhaps it's because it's designed too close to the competition;for US patent purposes. My version of the belt is designed for having a hernia on my right hand side. The strap that comes with it is unlike the competitions it starts below the triangle piece in the front, and goes through your legs and come out the back end and could only be attached in an awkward uncomfortable way on the belt on the right hand side of the belt through a loop and attaches with velcro. But the problem is: that the velcro piece that attaches the velcro together, is inside the of the belts loop. that you slip it through, the velcro piece that you need is sewn on the opposite side; therefore, it becomes twisted instead of laying flat. It's extremely uncomfortable because the strap is twisted. Unlike the competition where it starts from the back of the belt goes through your legs in the front, and attaches to a little clip/buckle in the front which allows you to tighten it should you need to. You can't do this with the one that I have; it's the opposite. And not only is it the opposite, it doesn't come with a clip/buckle so that you can tighten it and attach it to. The strap is uncomfortable to wear because It could only be worn twisted. This was not explained prior to me purchasing it. I don't know if this is a defected one that they wanted to hurry up and get rid of it as soon as possible.Otherwise, I would have given it 10 Stars ... show more

  • It Works!
Style: Large Color: Black
Using this product reduced my pre-op pain significantly. Previously the pain intermittently varied between non-existent and insupportable, ~75% of the time being quite uncomfortable (or worse). With the belt, the pain level ranges from non-existent (~75% of the time) to mild. The leg strap dangles uselessly (have not figured out how to properly adjust it), but all else is self-evident and easy to use. Waist - 35 inches, 5'10" 175 lbs. Bought the large size based on an attempt at hip measurement and the fit appears to be pretty good. Surgery now scheduled for the near future. ... show more
