I had recently gotten a hernia while lifting something at work. After getting it delivered, I began wearing it the following morning. At first it felt great. I really liked the "bubble" that can be moved to put extra pressure in exactly the right spot. That felt really good. After a few days of wearing it with the bubble, it began causing a burning sensation right under the bubble. I guess it was too much pressure pushing inward on the hernia. I removed the bubble and replaced it with a twice-folded wash cloth. That seemed to work just as good and the burning sensation never returned. As far as the belt goes, it lays flat and can't be seen under my clothing so nobody even knows it is there. ... show more

Never says how to clean but I hand wash and drip dry. Don't fight the belt. If it rolls up on the sides.. let it. Seems like it adjusts itself. I purchased black and beige.. Don't apply belt too tight or it will be uncomfortable.

I bought the 3 highest rated umbilical bands here on Amazon...I wanted to compare them to see which would work best. This one by Wondercare is made Very nice...but the band is too narrow and sizes run small. All 3 I bought were the same size..other 2 were 2inches wider..they stayed in place and fit beautifully. I wore each for 4 to 6 hours 3 days in a row while going through my daily chores. I wanted to be fair anf give each a chance...so wore the same clothes with each (yes they were washed everyday). The other 2 I had no problem putting them on...though I had to put them on backward...not easy blindly trying to aline velcro behind your back...out of alignment the velcro would scratch and rub my skin...easy fix put on backward and twist around to front. I had high hopes for the Wondercare...it is made so well (better than other 2). All 3 were the 3 highest rated on Amazon. I would be giving the Wondercare 5 star reviews if it were 4in longer and 2in wider. Because it is narrower it slides up your waist...kept going up to under my boobs....annoying as hell. I'll be returning the Wondercare and keeping the other 2...that way I always have 1 when the other needs laundering. ... show more

It deserves 5 star compare to other belts, but it needs more than one support slat to prevent severe curling of the sides. Otherwise it has provided me support so I can move better with a large hernia I developed after surgery. I am having 12 inches ventral hernia repair April 30th--6 hr surgery. Thanks for this belt , I have been able to tolerate it more comfortable. I will also if able to use it after surgery, as a prevention and security support. I am going to see about adding those two support side slats. ... show more
