Out of the box review: Feels much more supple and cushioned than appears. I prefer a bit more firmness for support and the actual leather seat has just the right amount of give along with the padding adding a nice bit of comfort. As for the ergonomics, it's a one-size-fits-most affair. The set lumbar curve is perfectly positioned for my 5'10" self, both in a lounging posture and a "proper" upright position. This may not be for those who are shorter or taller so do be aware. For adjustments, you get a height adjustment lever and an offset tilt tension knob. the range is actually quite broad and works well for a variety of desk heights. Not quite the levels of a drafting chair but can get a bit of height if needed. The seat tilt is fluid and the knob is offset as mentioned earlier, meaning that you don't need to get up or awkwardly do yoga to get the right amount of feel. The casters are surprisingly smooth for a chair of this price, an often easy yet crucial corner to cut. The surface of the wheels are NOT hard plastic but rather some kind of rubberized material that glides well on both carpet and hard flooring. I personally would get an aftermarket set to keep these as a spare set as they are a decent set. The one piece star base is an equally nice touch, making assembly a 3 minute affair to simply take the packaging off and slot the parts together. Add the sturdy looking suspension and you got a chair that punches well above its weight in this price bracket, especially for one of this design. For the under $500 range, an Eames aluminum group-like is typically gonna be a cheaply made simulacrum that either sacrifices the look, fit and finish, or any other aspects. However, this one not only looks almost identical to the 1950's MCM classic, it feels like a well made seat that won't fall apart after a week. At $350, You can get the 1950's Eames experience for the 1950's price tag. So yeah, if you're willing to forgo the bells and whistles of modern mesh seats and 6 levels of adjustments or are fatigued by endless racecar chairs, this is it. ... show more

Due to the price of this chair I decided to wait a few weeks to decide if I really wanted it. Anyway, I ended up buying it. It arrived pretty fast; maybe 3 days. The box was big. It was very easy to assemble and went together smoothly. It feels sturdy and is comfortable. It looks good. I like that it has height adjustment. Although I don't believe this chair is worth what I paid for it, I do believe it's a really good chair. I expect it to last a long time. I'd recommend it to people with extra money who want a good, comfortable, high quality office chair. ... show more

This is an outstanding reproduction of an icon of 20th century furniture design, part of the Eames Aluminum Group. It is still comfortable after hours of use editing photography and is the desk chair I wish I’d had 30 years ago. The packaging protected the chair in shipping and it arrived in pristine condition. Should you consider purchasing this chair, it is likely that you will spend more time removing the protective padding than assembling the chair. Though I have bought other furniture on Amazon, this is the piece of the highest quality that I have acquired by far. They are other knock-offs of this chair available through Amazon at much lower prices and I considered them, but I am glad I made this selection due to its intrinsically greater value as a quality piece of furniture and also the factthat it is virtually indistinguishable from the original. ... show more

I purchased this chair to compliment my new desk in my home office. The chair looks just like the posting. The construction of the chair looks of good quality and solid. Upon first use, the seat is a bit on the firmer side but I expect that the leather will soften over time with continued use. Ergonomically it's very nice given the curved lumbar. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this chair is a replica of a much more expensive brand. For an almost identical item, the value for the money is definitely there. Loved the elevated designer look of this chair, since it would be located in my living room. It arrived within the scheduled time frame in great condition, thanks to the efficient and protective packaging. The chair itself was very easy to assemble in minutes and appears to be of excellent quality, better than expected. The seat is quite firm and stiff, but feels comfortable enough. I am doubtful as to whether the seat material is really genuine leather, but at this price point I am willing to accept it regardless.
