I bought these to hold our clam and scallop rakes. They handle both fine but due to the thickness of the pole on the scallop rakes one of them doesn’t want to lock after it is latched. I purchased two sets of the Rhino-Rack 574's for my truck rail system. The bolts were a little too short to clamp around the rails as they were designed. I looked at how the upper clamp part was connected to the rack and realized it was a T-bolt connection. I removed the bolts and narrowed them just a little and they fit the slots in my rails perfectly. Its a solid, clean look as the pictures show. Well built set of racks. ... show more

I don’t normally review items, yet I was impressed by the Rhino-Rack. Easy to install with security Allen key (drilled out center). I took them on a trip over 1,000 miles holding four Penn rod/reel combos along with my landing net. All fit snug and no vibration noises at all. Fairly easy to install. Works great with one pair of skis and one snowboard. Can’t fit 2 pairs of skis and a snowboard, though. All adult sized. Only downside to this rack.

    • Great rack!
Great rack. Drove nearly 1,000 miles with it through a lot of storms and never had any problems. Solid rack. People who said the brackets broke were over tightening them by a lot. Brief-ish instructions: Spin the top bracket so the are perpendicular to the cross bars. Put the bottom brackets on tight enough that the rack doesn't fall, but loose enough that it can be slid to align the front and rear. (Repeat for the rear rack). Tighten the top bracket to the lower bracket just enough that it doesn't slide on the crossbar. Tighten the top bracket to the rack (bolt located inside the rack with rack open). Check to make sure the rack doesn't slide. That's it. It's done. Takes about 10 minutes total to mount both the front and rear rack. ... show more
