My daughter needed a new alarm clock that could travel and while I did receive this unit for free as a reviewer, I very likely would have purchased it. Key features I've appreciated while testing: - Super lightweight. While some things suffer from that plastic feel, this clock has a nice balance between weight and solidity. And for sheer portability, this is a good thing. - Charging features. Brilliant to have the dual rear USB ports for additional charging. The average B&B night table has a lamp and that means one wall outlet available in close range. With this plugged in the watch and phone get recharged easily. - Big, bright display. Crazy bright at its highest setting (I like the dark), dimming is easy using the rear buttons. As is adjusting the time and the DST / 24hour. - Battery slots. We use rechargeables in everything and I prefer these over a built-in option that adds weight and another point of failure. Keeps this less expensive, too. Other features: - The alarm is your standard chirpy "hey it's time to wake up" repeating beep. Nothing fancy but effective and not so startling as to annoy. - The mirror is more of an aesthetic thing than a functional one in my opinion. I spent a moment wondering if a teen aged girl would do her makeup in the reflective surface of a clock and then tried briefly to imagine I was a teen aged girl who needed to do her make up, thought better of it and went to find the genuine article. She kept the clock happily but was Meh about the mirror as a mirror. Clean look for the clock, though. - Night light is soft enough that it's not intrusive, and the color choices are pleasing. - Instructions. One thoughtful thing about this clock is that there are printed instructions everywhere. Adjusting time, setting the LED color, navigating the two alarms, all have their own little text pointers to help you remember how to change a setting. Overall, this is a convenient travel / sleepover clock with a mix of required features and nice to haves. I'm not sure I'd make it an everyday device because the reflective surface plays with your focus at a distance or when at eye level. That's my only drawback. 1) arge numbers with 4 brightness settings, with 1st being bright enough to light up the area around it, and 4th being no display 2) Two USB ports in the back, and I use both. They function well 3) A big nightlight button on top that when pressed allows you to cycle through color options of white, blue, green, violet, red, light green, and light blue (the 8th press turns it back off). The same button also acts as a snooze button 4) DST + and - buttons on the back for setting your time and alarm clock 5) Five alarm volume options, 1 being the quietest, 5 the loudest, and loud enough for the very heavy sleeper 6) 12/24 hour button if you want to use an AM/PM cycle vs a 24-hour clock, which uses the numbers 00:00 (12 midnight) to 23:59 (11:59 pm) 7) Two alarm buttons to the left and right of the big snooze/night light button. To set each alarm, hold its button down until the hourly digit blinks, then use the plus/minus buttons on the back to set the hour. Then press the alarm button on top again to move to minutes. 3rd press returns to the time. To turn on or off the alarm, press twice quickly on its button, and to just see the alarm setting, press once quickly (In either case, the time display will return after a few seconds). I knocked off one star due to the "+" and "-" (used to set the time/alarms) buttons being on the back side and not on top. Intuitively, it makes more sense to have them on top and inside the alarm buttons (in other words, "alarm 1" / "+" / "SNOOZE-NIGHT LIGHT" / "-" / "alarm 2") so you can change your time/alarm without having to flip the clock around or feel around to the back. There's still enough room for a large snooze-night light button. It's the only annoyance for me. Otherwise, I do like this clock very much and would absolutely recommend it, especially for folks who are near-sighted, and/or those who need a couple of extra USB outlets in back. ... show more
