For the cheap price this cant be beat. I'm going to be giving birth in a few weeks and we needed something to keep the dogs out of the living room. Install was super easy though the sticky pads weren't very great at holding them in place. We installed ours directly into our doorframe so my husband just held the snaps where they needed to be and I drilled the screws right in. However these snaps/clasps do appear to be made of cheap plastic. I suspect in a couple months I'll have to rig up a makeshift metal replacement when one inevitably breaks, but for only about $30 for this gate I don't mind having to do that. This worked perfect for my family as our dogs are very obedient and don't attempt to jump gates. However, if your dog is destructive or likes to jump I could see the plastic sheeting and clips easily busting and ripping with a single good try. Same can be said for any rowdy toddlers. If a simple sheet and plastic would do the trick for your situation this is great. If you need something that can take a beating this won't replace a classic metal gate.

We ordered this 72" gate in Black. We needed a gate that was a full 72" wide. Most gates seem to be only 71" which would be just shy of the opening we need the gate for. It is installed outside on our deck at the top of the steps. It allows us to let our dogs out to enjoy the sun & fresh air without needing to use a tie out. One dog is 15lbs, the other 80lbs. The gate adequately serves the intended purpose. It pulls out smoothly enough with one hand. We leave the knob in the unlocked position so as not to have to fool with lock/unlock every time. Retracting is not always as smooth. If the way you are holding the handle puts the mesh at a slight angle relative to the pole, the mesh will be all wonky as it rolls up and sometimes won't retract fully. Pulling it back out and trying again usually solves the problem but it is a little annoying. There is some space between the surface of the deck and the bottom of the mesh. I'm sure our little dog could wriggle under it if he was so inclined - but he is not the least bit interested in escaping so it works for him. But if you have a little dog who is an escape artist, I wouldn't recommend this gate (or any gate of this type). The same goes for big dogs - if our 80lb dog really wanted to, he could run at the gate and probably rip the mesh or pull the screws out of the post. But he is not inclined to do that sort of thing so this gate works for him. That may not be the case for most larger dogs though. So for our particular circumstances and needs, it serves the purpose. It may not fit the bill for everyone though.

If you have the right tools and and are a DIY person it’s quick and easy. 8 screws and bam less than 5 min it’s done. Only thing is the screws are not all that great. The head broke on a couple while I was screwing it in with a drill. I didn’t use the anchors cuz I went straight into wood. But I like how it holds up nice and sturdy and looks clean.

Seems well built and probably works well for children, however I bought this to section off rooms for the dogs. It’s installed as close to the floor as possible and my smaller breed dogs and our Aussie quickly figured out how to commando style roll under it. So kinda just put holes in our walls for nothing. Also the double sided tape already stuck to the mounting equipment is worthless, I even cleaned the walls with alcohol prior to installation

We purchased these gates to keep our new puppy in the kitchen so he’s not ruining every rug and thing in the house.. First of all, there are no instructions as to how to install and the video on the listing is of no help.. luckily I’m pretty handy and was able to figure it out. After an hour of install, drilling into my walls and getting the gate set up, the latches to close the gate are not easy to use. My children were having a tough time working them. Ok so we got through that, and 15 min after my 10 wk old puppy was inside the gated area he was able to wiggle his way underneath the gate. It’s not that it’s not installed properly, it’s as tight as can be and installed correctly.. it’s lose and not tight to the floor. I’m sure it’s good for a baby but not good for dogs!!

I first want to say, you can set this up to use in two different spots! I somehow missed that when looking at this product and was so pleased when I set this up and was able to use the second set of hardware for my other hallway that I needed a gate for. This was super quick and easy to put up. The directions make sense and comes with paper guides to mark where your screws need to go to have the correct distance for your hardware, and once it's set up it feels really secure. This is also super easy to open when you need through (and it retracts really smoothly for me), and to move it between the two spots. When I move my girl from one room to the other, I just pop it right out and slide it into the other one. Couldn't be easier. The height is perfect. It's high enough that my girl doesn't try to put her leg up to try to climb out like she does on another gate I had, but it is low enough that I can step over it if I don't feel like opening it which is a little funny. It is more durable than I expected. My toddler is 20 months old and has pulled and pushed on the mesh and hasn't damaged it. I was really hesitant to buy it because of the mesh. I felt like it wouldn't hold up, but it has so far! I honestly have nothing negative to say about this. So far, ten out of ten!

Perfect for areas of varying sizes. Easy to install. A wonderful plus is the fact that it locks! I appreciate that while it is a permanent fixture in the home. It isn't always fully extended. I can easily retract to open up the room when not in use.
