This was shipped rolled and it took a lot of muscle to get it to unroll and lay flat. Once flat, even after the chair rolling on top, it's rippled and doesn't lay all the way flat. I rarely write reviews for things, but I couldn't in good faith let this mislead anyone else into buying it. My purpose for the purchase: I wanted a sturdy mat for my desk and gaming chair that looked nice and protected my newly installed carpet. Considerations: - My height (6'0") - My weight (230lbs) - My gaming chair's weight (66lbs) - I'm a writer and gamer so I will be stationary for long periods of time (hours). - The carpet is medium plush density and brand new. Issues with product: - Chair sinks significantly into the mat (about 1/4 inch) - Chair doesn't roll smoothly due to it sinking into the mat. - Mat moves whenever I move my chair. This is also because the chair wheels sink into the mat. - The mat lifts at the edges when the chair wheel is roughly 6" away from the edge, thus the surface area you can roll your chair is reduced by 6" on all sides. Caveats: - Combined weight of myself and my chair is just under 300lbs. - Carpet has a medium plush density. - I'm stationary for long periods. Theory - It's possible that the mat is not designed to hold this much weight. Test Theory: - Had 5 year old sit in chair for 30 minutes. - 5 year old weights 34 lbs. - Chair weighs 66lbs) - Sat and played Sesame Street games for 10 minutes. Result: The chair had significantly sunk into the mat from a combined total of 100lbs, stationary for 30 minutes. Conclusion: The mat deforms from 100lbs within 10 minutes. Personal Opinion: Don't buy it. Doesn't perform the function intended. Even if I attempted to reuse it for storage purposes, it will deform and sink into the carpet with only 100lbs. ... show more

    • Made for "office" carpet, not "home" carpet

Appears well made and easy to use, but is not made for a more "plush" type carpet. This indents where the chair wheels sit on the carpet (when I'm in the chair), and these indentations will last through the night (even after the chair has been moved and no one is sitting in it). Is it a good pad for under a chair-yes, fits good, well made, big enough that I don't "roll of the edge" when the chair is moved. But, it is made for "flat" carpet in an office, not "at-home" carpet that has more depth to it. On the correct surface, I believe this would last a long time, but not sure it will for our application. As long as it lasts through the "work from home-Covid " mandate, I'll be happy with the item for the price, as it is saving wear and tear on the carpet. ... show more

    • Be sure you have low pile carpet!
The supplier shipped quickly and it's generally as described. The mat came rolled. When you first roll it out, the edge curls a bit, but by the next day, it was flat. I have no problem with the fact it came rolled. Unfortunately, the description does not tell you the thickness of the plastic. I weigh 175 lbs and my carpet is about 1/2" which I don't think is that unusual. However, my office chair sinks in and creates little craters at each leg roller. After working for awhile, it's difficult to get the chair to roll out of the craters. Be sure your carpet is thinner that 1/2" or you won't be happy. I suspect I'll have to go the more expensive route of tempered glass. :( ... show more

    • Could be thicker
This mat was delivered promptly, it is the right size and fits perfectly. Two of us were needed using thick gloves to protect against the sharpness of the underside, and a hairdryer to soften the plastic and get it unrolled and into place. It settled down smoothly in a few hours. I must be honest, on our low pile carpet though, I am disappointed that the chair wheels put indents into the plastic mat. This makes the chair almost as difficult to roll as when it was on the carpet. ... show more

seems to be a well made product with a versatile and usable shape, however, it will arrive rolled into a 6" cylinder - and coercing the mat to lay flat (after being rolled tightly for who knows how long) will test your mettle..... I resorted to using a heat gun to speed the process.... having ordered 4... but in the final analysis, all good.... ... show more

I would have liked for it to have been thicker. It's thin and leaves the wheel mark impressions. The material doesn't allow for the chair to move smoothly. It also doesn't appear to be durable.
