What I liked about this product is the ease of installation, even if your not very mechanically inclined, I think anyone who sets there mind to it can replace this with minimal effort and time. Lots of youtube videos to walk you through it if you dont have a clue. That being said this product was more expensive then anywhere else I looked, and it was the only place I could purchase the part because everywhere else was out of stock. Yet another Honeywell appliance component failure this year. Yes this fixed the broken one perfectly (which failed prematurely because the thinly coated metal on the probe corroded and allowed water into places it shouldn’t be.) Update 9/6/2022. Piece of junk failed again after 3 years Update 5/22/2024. Failed again. I keep taking the bait. This new one fixed it again. This time I pressed the piezo electric button and it broke into bits. Part is branded “Residio” not Honeywell (as others have commented) however of all of them this one actually looks to be the highest quality of the lot. Lots of water heaters come with this unit or it’s Honeywell equivalent. They all look about the same. Avoid them. In the AO Smith line you can get a water heater with this style comtrol or with the old school type that has the big button on top and the large temp control knob. I’m sure those old school ones can fail too, but I’ve never had one fail personally. Ever. These Honeywell ones are disposable garbage. Get a water heater with that old style classic control is my first recommendation. ... show more
