    • Terrible since they did a software update

I have purchased 2 of the solar 4G cameras and had them at my farm and they initially worked great. I have no idea what they did, but about 6-8 weeks ago they did the first software update I was aware of and then another one about 5 days ago that made things worse. 1) I no longer get alerts from either camera to my cell. 2) Even if I manually check without an alert, sometimes the calendar will show no events, but then mysteriously several will show up. 3) If I try to playback, I can usually playback the first video and then no other clips will play. I may have a deer on my driveway, or a truck and I can only playback one and have no idea what the other clips are. 4) Daytime clips are now black and white when they have always been color. And playback sometimes now flashes like a strobe. 4) For some reason, the app on my cell was always a little better than my laptop. Now, I cannot even access live or replay from my cell and laptop is unacceptable. They are now completely worthless to me as a security measure or just to view wildlife on my property. Again, these are 2 separate systems, and each have a separate 4G card in them, so it is not one camera just went bad. This is a Reolink problem. I will be replacing them and there appear to be cheaper solutions available than Reolink that have the same features. DO not buy these if you need dependability. ... show more

    • Remote Camera Worth the Money
This camera works great! We use it to monitor our driveway gate which is 1/4 mile from the house. This camera offers a great solution with a reasonable price. It has a great app and clear video quality. I highly recommend it.

Picture quality is good for our purpose (monitoring live stock). Easy to install and charges great in good light, not so great in low light. App is slow to respond when controlling the camera, but happy with it compared ot other cameras we’ve had. Connection issues are a bit frustrating from time to time. ... show more

    • How to setup your camera with MINT Mobile!

I was hesitant to purchase this camera as I have never used any camera with its own sim card. I read all the reviews about the prepaid plans and considering T-Mobile has great service in my area, I decided to go with it. Camera was delivered on time and package included everything on the description, drove to my local T-Mobile store and tried to purchase a SIM card and the store employees had no idea how to handle a cellular camera. Went home and decided to read up on some more options. Decided to try MINT Mobile as it is a T-Mobile secondary carrier. Drove down to my local target and purchased the 4g per month for 3 month plan which includes the sim card kit (~45$). The MINT Mobile setup instructions say to place sim card into your phone and download the app....... but stay with me there's another way. Considering I did not want to put any SIM card into my personal phone, I decided to go to the MINT Mobile website on my computer and "BINGO" on the top on there websites there is an "Activate" link which allows you to active your SIM without needing to use a phone. Once I followed the instructions on the website, my SIM card was activated then followed the reolink instructions and put in my camera and a few blue light flashes later my camera said "network succeeded" and my camera was ready to go. I then downloaded the Reolink app on my phone, scanned the QR code on my reolink camera and I was live streaming video. Also the MINT Mobile website does NOT require a Credit Card on file like some of the other prepaid options I looked at. 11/02/21: Camera is mounted with solar panel in a open field so far working 100% Will come back in 3 months to update review.     • You can't use this camera on an AT&T network

It's a really nice product that should have been easy to install, but I couldn't get past the first step: "Install a sim card". I hope this review will save other customers who are stuck with AT&T from wasting 6 hours on trying to get this product installed. What's hard about that? I spent four hours on the phone trying to find out how to get a sim card and a cellular plan. AT&T has horrendously bad customer service, and I kept getting reps who had no idea how to do that. The last one finally said "you're going to have to go to a Store." So I gave up and went to a store. Waited another 40 minutes until the only guy there could get to me. He just said "you'll have to go to a store with home security reps", and he directed me to one. I really wanted this camera to work, so I went to that store. It wasn't easy to park, I had to walk several blocks to get there. After waiting another 20 minutes for a customer with screaming kids get her problem solved, the manager finally helped me. First he had to find a sim card that fit the product (a Nano, not hard). Then he spent the next two hours trying to get it activated, but he couldn't find a cellular plan that would work for cameras. They are all either for phones or tablets. Is this REI's fault? No. AT&T just doesn't support the product. They have their own high-priced "AT&T Digital Life" security services, that must be why. Unfortunately, for me AT&T is the only game in town, so now I have to find another security camera that doesn't rely on a cellular plan. I guess I need a camera that uses wi-fi, which won't be as good, but I have no other choice. Word to the wise: don't use AT&T if you have a choice, or buy a camera they do support (is there one? probably not). ... show more
