  • Excellent performance, highly recommended.
I have been using this brand of Camera for many years. I also bought a video doorbell, which also performed very well. I was very satisfied with it. I even bought two more surveillance cameras. I highly recommend it.

  • consider: aspect ratio, mounting, wiring
My suggestion to potential buyers is assess these three things: Which aspect ratio best fits your entryway, if you can mount a doorbell camera, and if you can wire one. Reolink is making two different models of doorbells right now: White - 3:4 capture aspect, Wifi Black - 4:3 capture aspect, PoE Both PoE and WiFi versions can be powered by traditional doorbell wiring, and both have a 10/100 ethernet port. So there's some mixing and matching going on here with the features and you'll need to figure out what you want to trade off to get what you want. But IMO since the point of the camera is to show you what's out there I'd make my selection based primarily on which aspect ratio is going to show you the most of your entryway. When making that decision consider the angle of your mounting location, if any. A wedge is included to be used between the wall and the mounting plate. It providers ~0.4" of static horizontal grading. There is no wedge for vertical mounting. If you're mounting on an overlapping plank type wall then take that angle into consideration as you may need to resolve it by your own means. And for wiring, since this is not the PoE model, you are provided with a DC24V power adapter and an extension cable if you wish to power the camera by plugging it into the wall. Note that the doorbell doesn't have any channeling in the casing to let this cable out, it assumes you'll be running it through the wall. You can use existing doorbell wiring for power but the user manual advises bypassing your existing doorbell's chime by applying an included jumper cable. The greatest criticism I have is about the minimal anti-theft and non-existent anti-vandal design. The doorbell is attached to the mounting plate by tiny plastic tabs held in place by a spring clip. Inserting an included pin about 1mm into a hole at the bottom disengages the tabs freeing the doorbell. That's it. I managed to press the spring with the tip of a piece of landscaping bark I found near my door. As for anti-vandalism features, there are none. The outer shell is plastic and I see no indications of special protection for the lens. ... show more

  • Quite Good
This doorbell is really very good. It works well and the setup is quite easy. The package came with all the parts that are needed, sort of. It didn't include a micro SD card, that needs to purchased separately. The doorbell will work without it, however, recording and retrieving the recordings won't be available, unless you subscribe to a cloud option. The first thing that impressed me was that the package included extension wires for existing wiring that might be too short. This is a common thing actually, either the internal doorbell wires are so worn-out and old that it is almost impossible to strip a piece to connect it to the new doorbell, or it is hanging by a tiny thread that will definitely break during the installation. The existing positive and negative wires attach to screws on the back of the doorbell. As in any other older doorbell. Setting up the Wi-Fi connectivity took less than 3 minutes. I plugged the video doorbell into the power socket with the included adapter, scanned the QR code to install the mobile app, entered my WI-FI credentials and that was it. Mostly took the default configurations, which I tweaked later after installation to match my preferences. The chime plugs right into a wall socket inside the house. It is required as your old home chime/ring will not work with the Reolink doorbell. The physical installation was easy. Make sure you have the required tools, such as a screwdriver and a drill, especially if installations require drilling new hole(s). A paper template is provided for exact measurements. The package also included a wedge. I installed that. It is an additional installation piece of plastic that attaches to the wall, before attaching the doorbell to it. This is required only if the wedge provides a better angle for the camera, based on the location of the doorbell. Once installed, all worked as the manual indicated. The chime worked when pressing the doorbell. It has buttons to adjust the tone and volume. The video quality itself is impressive. It is very clear during the day and at night. I haven't tested some of the AI capabilities yet. Specifically, notifications based on identifying packages placed by the door. Very minor delay, fractions of a second, with the video stream feed. This is a good product. ... show more

  • Very easy install and no need for montly subscription.
Very nice doorbell. The installation was very simple. The instructions are easy to follow and the app is a snap to use. If you have a reolink nvr you can wire it as well but the nvr is not required as it has a built in microsd slot. The app and notifications work without the nvr. It also comes with a chime that comes paired out of the box. There are multiple models of this doorbell. Some are POE and some are not so if you are looking for something with POE be sure to get the correct one. It does have built in ethernet which is very nice. Most camera doorbells do not offer this option and given they are placed outside external walls the wifi signal is not always the best. It is very nice to be able to wire the doorbell directly and not deal with missing alerts/rings or video due to wifi interference or a poor signal. It can also record locally thanks to the microsd card. The only downside is that ONVIF support doesn't seem to be available which is shame since it limits your ability to use other NVRs. Other reolink doorbells do advertize this capability so hopefully it is added down the line on a firmware update. Overall very nice specially if you already have a reolink nvr. ... show more
