We bought one Redkey MGC1000 about 2 month ago. It worked so well that we bought another one for the front yard. They greatly exceed our expectations, even though there are rooms for improvement. With some occasional "hand-holding", the mowers are able to cover the areas defined by the boundary wires. The yard is nice and smooth after using the mowers, much nicer that we were able to do before. It's also great fun to watch them work and check their progresses on the App. We program the mowers to run everyday between 10AM and 9PM. It takes about 2 days for a mower to cover an area of about 0.1 acres. The mower can handle very complicated yard (see picture). We are amazed by the software that navigates the yard. A few annoyances, - the boundary wires need to be very carefully laid, so that it won't be cut by the mower. - the mower could get stuck on loose turf. - once in awhile (maybe every couple of days), a mower would go to dormant. Some of them might be due to the hot temperature, some due to the aforementioned boundary problem, and others seem random. - the App supports scheduling, but only based on day of the week. we are unable to schedule, say, every other day. - oh yes, you will need WiFi coverage for at least part of the yard - one mower lost the ability to show boundary and mowing progress, which is only corrected after a factory reset - sometimes, the mower keeps going after scheduled stop time (9PM)

It took about and hour to install the guide wire and set up mower it does good job cutting grass and the unit is made very well battery does not last as long as my last mower but charges up and finishes the job

Worst piece of crap that’s ever been made. Gets stuck if you look at it wrong. Has a collision with the fence and shuts off until you move the mower or the fence. Got stuck on level ground once with nothing blocking it. Could not find the charger while it was on the charger. Do not buy this useless piece of junk. Took 18 hours to mow my lawn the one and only time it actually worked.

This robot mower is best suited for small lawns only. It stops working if the total boundary wire exceeds 180 meters (about 590 feet), if you try to extend it by adding extra wire. When this happens, it shows error code E607 (which may appear as L093 if you're viewing the screen from the opposite side). If your lawn has bushes, flower beds, or other obstacles, you’ll likely need extra wire to route around them—and that can easily push you over the wire length limit. That said, customer service was excellent. They clearly explained the issue and even sent me a second returned mower so I could use it to cover an additional zone on my lawn. Now, with two mowers, everything works fine. This is a good product with great support, but to become an excellent one, the manufacturer—MuChen International Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd.—should remove or increase the artificial limit on boundary wire length.

They are only capable of mowing about 2,000 sq ft and don’t work well on large areas as they lose track of their orientation. The support agents respond quickly and try to resolve the problem. Yuna was my agent and she did the best she could. Service is a problem. Their approach is unsustainable so it is hard to imagine they will be selling mowers in the US much longer. The mowers work ok on small areas and stop immediately if they go outside the wire. I’m still using mine. My suggestion would be for Redkey to turn over support of their US mower business to ANTHBOT. MGC mowers appear to be nearly identical to the Pion mowers. ANTHBOT has a better support organization in place.

I have now used this mower to mow my lawn twice and can not be any happier, it works flawlessly on my yard. The mower does everything that it is advertised to do, my lawn is not flat and has some bumps and trees, etc, but it has managed to mow it without fault, it has never over run the boundary wire on some of the slopes that I have and has always found its home to recharge as needed until done with the job. I have been using robot mowers for over five years and this is100 percent better than the other 3 robot mowers that I have had mowing my yard. I am still using the others to do a part of my yard but I can not say enough good about how this new mower works. My other mowers work just like a romba house vacuum bouncing around until yard is done, this new one mows in a controlled manner. I only had to adjust my buried cable being I already had it buried for the other ones. I can tell you the most important part of getting these units to work is to follow directions as far as what distances you should be from walls, buildings and other obstacles in your yard. It is very important to make sure the charging pad is level and the distance of five feet of staight entry is allowed on both sides of the charger. I have some trees in my yard that I just let it bounce off and it works just fine, if you have trees with surface roots it is best to use wire around them as directed in the manual, my trees are spruce and they are just staight up so there was no need to run wire around them. I now only have to trim with my push mower every other week and it only takes me 20 minutes to do, what a time saver.

Placement of the cable is the biggest hardship. Maintains great over lap for an consistent mow. Direction suggests you place a wire around tree base... as long as your roots are not raised out of the dirt I'd ignor such. The AI mapping will be very capable of mowing around objects without an issue. Suggest barying line a 1/2 inch under lawn to prevent animals from chowing the line... or the mower cutting it. Was great till my dog ate the line....
