  • These are weird, but they work.
I wanted to cover my garage windows so creepers can't look inside. For months, I had blankets covering the windows, which looked awful, but it was meant to be a temporary fix. I was hesitant to invest several hundred dollars in fancy window shades for my garage so I started looking for something cheaper. Don't get me wrong, my garage is awesome. It's been renovated and it's a cool place to hang out. But it also gets pretty dusty inside, and the thought of trying to keep expensive window shades clean sounds daunting. I got on Amazon, found these paper shades and read enough positive reviews to convince me to order them. I didn't measure correctly and ordered the wrong size. I improvised and made them work. I used Gorilla tape to install them since so many people complained the adhesive wasn't strong enough. I've had them up for almost 3 months now with no issues. At first, I didn't like them at all. But as time goes on, they're growing on me. I think they're good enough. I would not have these inside my house, they look like construction paper. But you have to look close enough to tell. They do the job I need them to do, and when they eventually get dusty, I can easily change them out. ... show more

  • Minimalist and Chic
As several reviewers have commented: I know they are supposed to be temporary, but I really like the look. Cutting them to size was a bit labor intensive - I used a pretty sharp kitchen knife, but a nice serrated edge is better for this job. They were easy to measure for and to adhere. I adhered them to the metal window frame and not to paint. I am pretty sure the adhesive would damage your paint job. They are a bit tedious if you want to raise and lower them frequently, but if you keep them up or down most of the time you will not have any complaints. The clips that are provided are cute and work well to secure the blinds. ... show more

  • Good but not very sticky!
EDIT: It has been a few more weeks and it has fallen 2 more times. Not a huge deal but more annoying than anything. These were so helpful in a pinch, but I came home from a long weekend and they were all on the floor. Make sure when you stick them on, wash the windowsill and let it dry, then apply very firm pressure along the sticky part. I found rubbing it with my hand along it for a few minutes was helpful because it seemed to warm the glue and help it stick better. They are a little cheap looking if you need to use the clips to lift them up but otherwise, they work how they are supposed to. ... show more

  • Cheap But Effective TEMPORARY Blinds
First and foremost, if you're thinking that you're going to use these as a permanent (or even long-term temporary) window treatment, I would caution against that from the outset. These are not going to last. While they are not "low quality" for what they are, they are quite literally made out of paper. Nothing but folded paper with an adhesive strip on one end. They will eventually tear or wrinkle and become useless. Having said that, they should work well enough for what I need them for. I just moved into a brand new house and it did not include window treatments. After recovering from the initial cardiac arrest induced by the price of plantation shutters, I realized I would need *something* to cover my windows for the next six weeks until my shutters were made, delivered and installed. So for $29 I have been able to cover the windows in my front bedroom and master bedroom (dual windows) and guest room and office (single windows). That's six total, at 3' wide (which is slightly wider than the single window openings I have). My house backs onto a wetland so luckily my privacy really is not compromised by leaving my dining room windows and sliding doors uncovered for the next few weeks, and I get a great view of the wildlife at dawn and dusk! Another hint, although yes it is going to cost you a tiny hole in your brand new walls, is to hammer in a thumb tack at each top edge! After reading all the reviews about the adhesive giving way and them falling down in the night, I decided to stop that before it could ever happen. Just use a little care because you're hammering it into the wooden window frame and not just into drywall and you have a setup that is guaranteed NOT to fall down. Because I am not laboring under the utter delusion that these are somehow permanent window treatments, I have given these 4 stars because they do what they are supposed to do, and they do it for a decent price! ... show more

  • Easy Peasy
Ordered on Sunday arrived on Tuesday followed the video instructions from other people here on Amazon and voila!! Hung it right up. Now this is my bathroom and if for some reason it fails I do have five more to use and the width is only 16 inches so less than half of one blind so basically that’s 12 uses unless I mess up one. So I’m giving it a five star because it’s easy, works perfectly, and looks pretty good too. It is made of paper but, that’s really not a problem for me with this window. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Easy to install
The price is great. Filters light well. They last about a year so be prepared to replace them.

  • Cheap, easy solution to cover windows.
I despise hanging any kind of window cover. It never goes well. I was skeptical of these at first, but they were EXACTLY as easy as promised to install. Seriously, even if you are all thumbs you can do this. You literally take it out of the packages, cut it with a pair of sharp scissors to fit the interior width of your window, and stick it to the top inside the frame. DONE. No kidding. There is no string pull, so I either just leave it all the way down if the room doesn't get much use, or use the clips (included, and kind of like clothespins) to leave at half mast. It is not durable, as it is just thick paper, so I wouldn't put in a small child's room, but for a grownup household it is perfect. Especially if you are no Martha Stewart when it comes to decorating. And they are SO inexpensive that if one tears, just pull out another--they give you plenty in the box. Love it! ... show more
