I had a cake catastrophe a few days ago, so I dug out an ancient, traditional (analog) oven thermometer. It looked like my oven was off by more than 50 degrees F. But I know that the thermometer could be wrong, too. So I ordered two traditional thermometers plus the IR thermometer gun. I preheated an extra long time, which is apparently necessary vs. just waiting for the preheat beep which goes on too soon. (Just waiting for the beep is fine for things like casseroles but not for cakes.) The gun is super easy to use. And it confirmed that 2 of the 3 old-school thermometers were giving a correct reading. The laser thermometer was really inexpensive. I think I'll try it when making candy, too, to confirm what my candy thermometer tells me. I love that it doesn't use traditional batteries. It's USB/USB-C rechargeable, so no more batteries going to the landfill or battery acid leaking into the thermometer. The pictures show the disaster cake I made a few days ago and also the ones that turned out perfectly using the new thermometers. BTW, the pre-cut parchment circles are a huge help vs. tracing and cutting circles to fit in the pans. Got them on Amazon, too.

I am greatly amazed with this product unfortunately I had to returned because I don't need one. But I hughly recommend it people who have a career in food industry. This also apply to many other uses.

Bought the rechargeable version of this thermometer. Very easy to use with a nice colorful display. I was hoping to find a rechargeable thermometer since replaceable batteries are so old tech as far as I'm concerned. This was the only infrared thermometer I could find that was rechargeable. I was also very happy to see that this uses a USB-C port for charging as that is fast becoming the new standard. Accuracy seems on point as I tried it on both ice water and boiling water and it was right on or a few degrees off depending on where you were pointing it. I bought it for use with a new pizza stone I picked up and heating the oven to 550 degrees (F) for just over 30 minutes, the temp on the stone read 560 and the pizza cooked in about 9 minutes which is about right for that temp. Overall very happy with this thermometer.

I'm a big fan of Inkbird products overall and have purchased several of these infrared thermometers. They are nice thermometers, with a good display and comfortable handle. Their main issue is that some of the units are not calibrated accurately. I have one that is within about 0.5 degrees of my other thermometers and another that is a solid 5 degrees too high. I will be returning the defective unit.

To start off the shipping was very fast. It showed up 2 days early. The packaging was very nice and very well packaged. After opening the box was the thermal thermometer. Undermeith that was the thermometer pen. Both of the products were a pot bigger than I thought. The thermal thermometer is very quick and easy to use. Simply set to Fahrenheit or Celsius and pull the trigger. You can actually see the laser dot when using it on anything. It works on dogs, food, humans and any other object you can think of. The pen on the other hand, is just as great. It has a auto shit off which helps save battery and it is also usb rechargeable. Both of the therometers are very accurate. No more guessing while cooking. All in all, this set is great for the cook in the family or fathers day gift. I wouldn't recommend any other brand. They are built to last and look great as well. Very durable and built to last. Get yourself one asap because they come in very handy.

I recently purchased a Masterbuilt smoker. Was looking for a thermometer to monitor the meat. Didn't have to search long to find this. I have other Inkbird products and knew what to expect. High quality and accurate. One button control, rubber feet, strong magnet to mount anywhere you wish. Includes clips to mount a probe for ambient temps also. Very friendly app for my phone to set up alarms and to monitor all over my property. Plus a great price. This is the one and look no further.

This is a lovely, accurate infrared thermometer. Almost perfect as advertised except you can't switch the temperature from F to C (default is F). I know it "implies" that in the pictures with the arrows between F and C going back and forth but that's a lie. my first indication of this was after receiving the unit, I read the manual... couldn't find anything there. it has one button, maybe it's programmed... nope. press and it scans. let go and it holds the temp. press and hold and it's constantly scanning. I tried asking Amazon questions because maybe someone else figured it out. No help. So I went to the Inkbird website (couldn't find it there) to ask their support. Writing this now because I just received a reply: "Sorry, the temperature unit of INK-IFT02 cannot be switched" sigh. like I said, almost perfect. Edit: I just looked at the product pictures again - even though that F <> C implies it's interchangeable, under it is written " Fahrenheit setting ". double sigh.
