My old Radio Shack race scanner died and I did a lot of research to find a replacement. I bought the Racing Electronics RE3000 scanner after reading many many reviews of a bunch of different scanners. The scanner came packaged well. I was shocked at how light the unit was. My first thought was this thing can fit in a shirt pocket and not feel heavy. The biggest He## yeah was the ease of loading the race frequency list. Find the Racing Electronics trailer, stand close, push 2 buttons, and wait for your download. The I used my RE3000 for the first time this year at the Indy 500. I had 2 head sets running a splitter with no problem. Volume was great, and sound quality even better. Great scanner. You will not be disappointed if you purchase a Racing Electronics RE3000

Bought this with some headsets for the Richmond NASCAR races. Works flawlessly. Easily programmed, you literally follow the instructions on the radio. We were able to listen to any driver and the regular NASCAR feed. Highly recommend

Bought the scanner Jan 2022 for the Daytona 500, worked fine for a couple of races, batteries died each day. Went to Dover in April, had issues, Pocono, had issues and then by Watkins Glen it didn't work. Volume was very quiet -- we thought it was us! Spent alot of money on scanner and headphones and no replacements are allowed. Dealt with RE directly and we can't get a refund because we got it off of Amazon from a "third party" who says it's "NEW"!!! Buy directly from RE only! Just threw away a ton of money.....

I have had other RE electronics radios for the last 20 years never a problem. As a ham radio operator I wish some of my big dollar rigs were as simple to use I have used big dollar ham radio handheld radios at the races still lean towards re3000 hands down

Worked great. Had to go online to get instructions though. Can’t believe it comes with absolutely no instructions of any kind. The OTA programming was really easy. Just stand outside the Racing Electronics trailer and push a couple of buttons.

Radio works well if you are at a track that broadcast the frequencies that you are looking for. Not all race tracks do this. Be careful when installing batteries. One of the metal tabs broke the first time a battery was installed. Instructions for programming are very vague, so definitely there is a lot of room for improvement. It is really neat to listen to what is happening with the cars!
