This printer has been working well for printing employee badges. Because it uses the retransfer system it does not have problems printing over the embedded RFID chip that is used for door entry. Card Imaging provides tech support after a purchase of a printer from them. The printer was brought to me on a uhaul. Thrown on the porch like a sack of trash. All of the cards that came with the printer were broken open and they were covered in dirt and dust. The inside of the printer was dusty and as u can see i ran two cards through the printer and the roller is covered in dust and the cards were not good. Great badge printer. If you have an issue with uneven printing this type of printer is your solution! We had the cheaper Fargo printers that print directly to the card and had inconsistent prints. This style printer places the image on a layer of film which is then applied to the card, eliminating inconsistencies. We upgraded to these over the last year and we are exceptionally happy! I highly recommend this model and the reseller we used through Amazon is an authorized distributor so the manufacturers warranty and support are available.
