First things first. I ordered the LM model with Basket in black. The bike arrived about 5 days later via FedEx and 3 days earlier than expected. The write up says it is 95% assembled, but for me it was like 99.9%. I don't plan on a passenger so I didn't need to add the foot rests or seat back. It was folded up in the box and covered with packing material. I didn't have any helper to lift it out so I just cut open one side. After unpacking, I unfolded it and the locks felt secure. I found the kickstand and then read the manual. There was no basket as there should have been so I sent a note through Amazon. I did not get any correspondence from the seller, but FedEx brought a box with front and rear baskets today, 2 or 3 days later. There are no instructions, but I can figure it out. I went for a test ride and it has a lot of zip. Everything seemed to work well. It easily went up a hill and hit 20 mph I believe them that it has about 80 NM of torque. It felt a little loose so I will go over it and tighten all the nuts and bolts. I will also get out the bike stand which will make it easier to work on. I have a 150cc Vespa scooter which requires a motorcycle license and protective gear. I think that I will wear my motorcycle helmet on this because I found myself going faster than I normally do on a bicycle. I bought this E-Bike for exercising me and the dog. I will add more here later. I am adding more now. I upped this from 4 to 5 stars. It is quite sturdy. The PAS gives a lot of assist so the dog gets more exercise than I do. As I mentioned, the initial delivery did not have the baskets as it should have, but they came 2 days later. I suspect the basic bikes are all packed up in advance because there was all kinds of packing material, and any extras like baskets are sent separately. The baskets were easy to install. The hardware did not include any lockwashers, just nuts, bolts and flat washers. I had some nuts with nylon inserts on hand so I used those to be more secure. I think the baskets need that or lockwashers if you plan to take it off and on. My wife bought a fancy bike carrier, unfortunately this bike will not fit. It needs a carrier that will accommodate the fat tires, 4 to 5 inches, and also the weight, ebikes are heavier, 60 to 70 pounds at least. The carrier may list a total weight, just be sure it gives a per bike limit as well. Also, with the extra weight, can you pick the ebike up to put it in the carrier or do you need a ramp or other assistance? As I said, I like the protection of a motorcycle helmet as opposed to a bike helmet. It is more restrictive, but this ebike easily hits 20+mph and my head is quite valuable. One study looked at head injury location in motorcycle accidents. Most were face, chin and parietal (side) injuries and very few occipital (back) and sagital (top) injuries. The motorcycle helmet gives better coverage and stronger protection to these critical areas. IMHO.

GOOD NEWS: I really like the bike, tons of pedestrians and even strangers driving by have yelled out to me how great it looks. It does look cool and unique with the fat tires and its overall design. The display works great too, it tells your speed, mileage, trip, how much power you are using right now, how much is left. And it has 5 power levels/speeds. If its in any speed other than 0, the power will be engaged if you start pedaling or if you turn the handle bar throttle. Man, LOTS OF POWER, no problems there. The brakes work great too, see below for more on the brakes. THE NOT SO GOOD: 1. Nothing is perfect, after a month the kick stand fell off somewhere while riding, so now i have no kick stand, i have to lean the bike up against a wall when ever i park it. 2. Like all eBikes, not just this one specifically, they can be dangerous. Because they has so much power, to operate it safely you have to always know what state the bike is in at ALL TIMES (even when your not riding it can fly off into something, the bike flew into me one time), and remember to put it back to gear 0 all the time so that you dont accidentally propel yourself into traffic. If you make a mistake and forget whats state the bike is in, you can easily get launched into traffic at a very high speed. When i first got the bike I was launched into traffic many times and literally thought i was going to die many times. This one incident i was convinced i was gonna die, i was heading straight for a car under full power, startled and fighting to keep the bike under control at full blast, at the last second i came to my senses and i hit the brakes, and to my surprise the damm thing stopped perfectly like a soldier on a dime (right in front of the car). So the brakes worked perfectly I can vouge for that. Once you get used to the whole eBike thing its great!

The bicycle arrived within a few days after ordering. the Rattan team was incredibly commuicative and helpful with all the details of arrival and set up. It came securely packed and most of the bike was pre-assembled, so it didn’t take much knowledge or time to have it all ready to go. Fully charging the battery was also easy. All reviews were accurate ! The bike works like a charm and has excellent acceleration and is solidly built. I weigh 180 pounds and am 6’1” and it showed fast response and enough power to get me up hills and around the neighborhood. The size and handling is perfect. It is also extremely easy to get off and on, and light enough to lift into my SUV. What i love most is the handling. Fast, safe, and an enjoyable ride! On and off road. 5 Stars for Rattan!!!!
