My first experience with an Ebike. I'm in decent shape at 62 y.o standing 6 ft and weighing 180 lbs. I have owned road bikes, mountain bikes and beach cruisers in my lifetime. My initial impression of the Velowave Ranger is that it's quite a remarkable bike. She's a hefty beast, yet nimble and well balanced. Assembly was easy, straightforward and took me about an hour. I went slowly, to ensure everything was adjusted and tightened correctly. This Ebike is exactly as described, performs as expected and is a sheer delight to ride. I charged the battery to 100% before testing out the bike. I took it out for a shakedown run of 6 miles on some dirt roads near my home. Smooth and extremely comfortable are the two words to best describe it. Then, I went on a 20 mile ride in the evening, pushing the limits of everything. The hydraulic brakes are amazing. Several deer jumped out in front of me, along with some small woodland creatures. In each instance, I was able to stop very quickly. I dampened down the adjustable front suspension for my comfort level, giving me a firm ride with adequate bump absorption. Shifting between the 7 gears was smooth and effortless, too. The battery was at 28% after a total of 26 miles ridden. I felt that I had worked it hard and therefore am pleased with the power and range. The headlight is extremely bright, giving clear notice to others. I appreciate having 2 sets of frame mounts for both a pump and water bottle. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality and functionality of this Ebike. The packaging was well thought out, with nary a scratch or mar anywhere. Every single weld on this 6061 aluminum frame was perfect, too. I would highly recommend the Velowave Ranger to anyone wanting a bigger sized Ebike. For some folks though, it might be too much bike for them, as it's a hefty beast. I loaded it on my car carrier rack w/o the battery installed and it tested my abilities. I'd recommend removing the battery during transport anyways, to eliminate any possibility of having the heavy battery come loose. I don't see that happening though, with the solid, locking mechanism that holds it in. I'll update in a few weeks with any notable additions. UPDATE: After 4 days and nearly 100 miles ridden, I'm a big fan of this bike. πβ€οΈ

I took a shot at a cheapish electric bike for fun 3 years ago. It then proceeded to do everything i wanted, even going 40mph with pedal assist. At 750, that's 5mph faster than the ebikes that claim to have 2000w with 35mph max speed. I broke the pedals and was easily able to replace them, the bike was just so easy to use and the pedal assist was perfect. Though the ebike scene has evolved since i bought this bike (i don't think it's worth 1000$ when dual motors are listed at the same price), i loved it for what it was, simple chinese cheap ebike that got me around when i felt like i should ride a bike instead of drive. My friend died recently as it was in storage for the winter and the motor simply no longer functions. The battery cover latch also broke so i can't get the battery out either. I'm not sure what to do with it, but i figured i'd leave a review for future people.

I bought my eBike a little over 6 months ago. I've been riding it almost every day. At first, I didn't realize how good the quality was for this bike, but when I started comparing to everybody else I see on the bike paths, I realized what a nice bike I had bought. I had knee surgery several times in my 20's and since have not been able to ride a normal bicycle. With my eBike, when I feel my knee is starting to hurt, I just let the eBike do most of the work to get back home. Always with a normal bike, I would end up in pain and then quit riding. This hasn't happened to me with my eBike. Before summer came, I was riding my eBike from my house to the lake to go fishing almost every day. I threw a little pole and some crappie jigs in a backpack and can easily get down and back in an hour with about about 20 minutes of fishing. It feels like real freedom to finally get out and get some fresh air and sunshine. It's not only helped my physical health, but I think mentally is has helped me too. I really enjoy getting outside every day now. Sometimes, I just blow right by those guys on expensive non-electric bicycles. I love it. One feature I didn't see on the Amazon page that I like most about this bike is a setting that allows it to change the help level automatically. At first, I tried using level 5 because I like to get to the lake and back, but on level 5, it pushes you too hard when you are trying to do something simple like do a u-turn. After I found the auto-help setting that goes from 1 to 5 depending on how hard I pedal, I was really happy. With it turned on, it helps just a little when you are going slow, and when you want to pedal very fast, it helps as much as possible. It's really great. I can't really say anything but great things about this bike. It's a wonderful bike, and I feel the quality is really great. I would like to recommend that people buy a helmet, a side mirror, and a red flashing light for the rear of the bike. These do not come with it. These are the things I found that were "must-buy accessories". When you get going 30mph on an ebike, you realize very quickly that you need a helmet. 25+mph feels a lot faster on an ebike than on a motorcycle. When you are going 25mph or more, you'll find right away that a mirror is necessary also, so you can keep your eyes on the road ahead. The bike comes with an excellent headlamp, but I bought a flashing led lamp that attaches to the pole of my seat, so people can see me better at night from behind. I ride my bike day and night, and the extra led on the back makes me feel a little safer.

Bought the bike in Nov for my teenage son. It came very well packed. Pain to dial in brakes but overall a very good bike for the money. Fast and powerful. The plastic knob on the battery latch broke with in 60 days so the battery no longer comes out with ease. I asked the manufacturer for a new latch and they refused - claiming warranty is only 60 days. They would be happy to sell me one for $40. I showed them were it clearly states one year warranty. Then the answer wasβ¦. Only the battery, display and bike have 1 year warranty. β They sent a new latch after some back and forth. The new latch is metal. The old one was plastic. Itβs been roughly a year and the bike gets LOTS of use. He loves it.
