  • Make Your Own Irrigation System and Use This Hose
4 month update: Had to replace one small section of tubing that got a hole in it but otherwise this is working great. Will expand the drip irrigation to two more beds next year. First I bought two drip irrigations systems that took hours to install and didn't work. The main distribution pipe was too small and systems leaked where they shouldn't. The cost of having someone install the drip irrigation was going to cost over $2000. The photos show how we did it ourselves. Knowing what we know, it would take about 8 hours and $200 to replicate our 33 planter (divided in four units) setup, half of that cost for the brass valves. Plastic valves failed. It took close to 100 feet of tubing to do all of the planters. It works spectacularly and I can water all four sets of plants simultaneously in an hour. We will use the same setup with the vegetable garden. ... show more

  • Works well, even with low pressure on flat ground
Fantastic! I have a small garden area without a nearby water outlet. Tired of carrying multiple jugs of water, I decided to create a drip system. Purchased a 10 gal lidded trash barrel, a light weight plastic screw in/through faucet fitting, this drip hose and a package of tiny hose fittings to split lines, create right angles and seal off ends. I already had a light weight plastic 'Y' faucet splitter. Used some flat rubber to create large gaskets and epoxy them to seal around the hole I made low on the water barrel, screwed in the faucet parts & tested for leaks. Laid out my waterline and cut & bent pieces from wire coat hangers to hold the hoses in place. Bucket was mounted on a 1 ft high stool on my front porch (3 steps up from garden) and 1 foot of regular hose dropped the water sufficiently to the splitter. The gravity feed gave sufficient pressure to allow water to flow out the ends of all 4 lines (from each side of the 'Y' splitter I had run 2 ft of drip hose before splitting each of those lines into 2). Fantastically simple! And I'm able to fill up my 10 gal water barrel at my leisure - and I can sit on my porch with morning coffee while I allow half the full barrel to water my garden... and NO muddy feet! ... show more

  • Overall, not bad but the hose has spots where the water sprays out.
Works well for my tomato plants. But the hose seems to have very small holes in it that cause the water to spray out in places, rather than dribble out. But there are not enough to cause a problem when watering. My tomato plants seem to like it, especially during these dog days of summer.

  • I love this tiny soaker hose!!!
I completely redid my garden watering system, flower beds, lily and rose post, plus much more. I have ordered several hundred feet to accomplish the redo. This is much more efficient and cheaper than expensive and unreliable dripper heads. Very easy to install too!! I use a swamp cooler water valve, 1/4" hard drip line from the valve connected/spliced to soaker hoses to water where needed. This single valve waters 25 planter pots and flower beds utilizing over100 feet of line all at once!! This is only one of 4 systems I have set up. This has taken the worry out of watering plants effectively vs using dripper heads. I wish I had this years ago!!!! ... show more

  • LOVE this - wish I'd found it sooner.
I wanted to add drip system to hanging rectangular flower baskets. I did one about a month ago, using emitters, which creates problems trying to water something long and thin, and seemed to overwater no matter how low I tried to to set them. Today I replaced the emitters with the 1/4" soaker. All of them worked perfectly, and none of them overwatered/dripped. As I saw another review saying this line had pinholes and a lot of spray. I watched very closely during the watering and yes, there were a few small points (maybe 2-3 along a 22-24" length of soaker line) where there was some "spray". But it was not like a SPRAY, but a VERY fine mist, not even enough to make the deck show any signs of dripping (I could feel it if I got w/in about 8-10" of the hanging planters in the direct line of the mist). I simply moved the line under plants so that a leaf was over those teeny tiny holes to redirect those drips downward. So far, so good. ... show more

  • Great Soaker Hose!!
I purchased 3 rolls of the 1/4" soaker hose for my garden from Home Depot. After getting everything setup I opened the value and almost no water came through. At first I thought maybe the length of my run was too much for the 1 valve. So I split it up onto 2 valves but it still was getting little to no water?!?! I then tried removing the pressure valve and increasing he flow rate. No difference except my 1/2 fittings blew out. Finally, I researched soaker hoses online and found all are not equal. I heard about Raindrip and gave it a try since I found it here on Amazon. I replaced all the HD hose I purchased with the Raindrip and started over with all on one valve. Turned system on and immediately had water flow for all area! Wish I had researched before buying, but who knew there was soaker hose that doesn't work? Do yourself a favor and just by the Raindrip hose and save yourself time and aggravation. ... show more

  • Works fine if careful
A little smaller diameter than what I've bought in the past. You have to be extra careful in adding fittings to not scrunch up hose and restrict water flow.

  • Easy install very effective
Wonderful soaker hose tube ... arrived quickly and installed easy-peasy. Flexible, so easy to weave around plants in garden beds. Highly recommended at this great price, too!!!
