Bring the convenience of automated watering to your hose-end sprinklers, Drip irrigation system or soaker hose with this rugged, professional grade, easy-to-use 7-day digital timer/controller. Sophisticated functions provide worry-free watering convenience and rugged dependability for season-long outdoor use. Simple-to- set 7-day automatic programming provides added watering flexibility for up to 6-hours of watering per cycle, 2-times per day. Extra-large programming dial and readout screen make it easy to set and review watering schedules. During operation the readout screen displays program status such as: next scheduled watering cycle, and time remaining on a current cycle. Program up to 2 watering times per day on any day/days of the week with run time duration up to 6-hours. One-touch "Water Now” and “Cancel Watering” buttons allow user to override programming instantly. “Cancel Watering” feature also acts as a "Rain Delay" allowing selection of up to a 96-hour pause in watering before stored programming resumes. High-flow rate (5–12 GPM) design allows operation of up to (5) Impact Sprinklers! Ideal for use with all Rain Bird hose-end sprinklers and kits. Features a rugged plastic female coupler and Garden Hose Threaded (GHT) outlet to help protect against breakage from pulling. Intended for indoor or outdoor use with cold water only. Working water pressure: 15 psi minimum to 90 psi maximum. Working temperatures: Keep from freezing; 110° F maximum. Operates on two AA batteries (not included). Very Important To prevent catastrophic damage always remove timer from water supply when freezing temperatures are expected. To provide leak-proof performance, gasket located inside the inlet collar must be fully tightened against hose bib or hose fittings. I first bought this sprinkler timer about 9 years ago at HD on sale because it was an opened package. It performed reliably and the batteries would last several years. Eventually, it became unreliable with watering only intermittently. So, it was time to purchase another one. This sprinkler is so easy to operate that reading the instructions is unnecessary! You set the date and time, then what days you want to water, when and for how long and that's it. You can easily turn it off and change the settings at any time. When set on "auto", you can also do a "water now" for as short or long a time as you want. This new timer has performed flawlessly and I expect that it will operate for many years to come. Bought this to dedicate one of my water faucets outside my house to water my tomato plants. Reliable and easy to use! If you are trying to use rechargeable double AA batteries, make sure they are rated at 1.5 volts.

This timer has worked for two years without beginning to leak, like three Orbit timers have done after one year each. Otbits work great for one year, for me anyway. For the extra few bucks, the Rain Bird is doing great. No dripping leak that put an extra 2 gallons of water per day on the first plant in line, like all three Orits have all done. ... show more

Easy to get started and program. Only issue I came across with it was whenever the sun would shine onto it, the screen would blackout due to overheating. The timer will still run normally. You just won’t be able to read the screen until it cools down. I didn’t have any issues with leaks.

This is the best hose timer in the galaxy! We bought it to help us with some major lawn rehab and maintenance going forward. I have been frustrated with every mechanical timer I've tried so far because they restrict water flow so much, but this battery powered unit still allows 5 gpm + flow thru my 5/8 x 100' long hose which is great because it means I can run a high output impact sprinkler in my front yard and water the entire lawn, without concern of forgetting to shut off the sprinkler. Great for those of us who are busy and/or easily distracted (I see a lot of squirrels).... The user interface is PERFECT. The large dial on the left allows you to toggle quickly and easily thru all the settings, and the buttons are easy to push. The display screen is easy to read so no squinting/scratching your head or second guessing about what it is your doing. You can set this puppy to water everyday, every other, or whatever, and once or twice per day depending on what you're trying to do. For newly planted grass, the twice a day is perfect. Once my new grass is established I'll be able to use this thing for "deep watering" during dry spells because the timer can be set for some really long run times, and I can set it to go off at 4 or 5 AM if I want to. My timer is getting dripped on a bit from the old spicket it's attached to, and so far it really doesn't seem to care. Maybe after a year or so it might die on me, but at around $35 I would probably just buy a new one and not be too upset about it. This is a product I can recommend to others with no reservations at all - this thing is a great buy for anyone with a need to irrigate their lawn or garden. ... show more

    • Unreliable and getting worse.

Timer system worked as advertised for about a week or two, then it began to fail. I had it set to turn on for 45 minutes twice a day, and it would initially turn on and off as programmed for both times each day. Later, it began to turn on and off properly the first time, and on, but not off the 2nd time. I could manually turn it on (even though it already was on) and off, and the valve would properly shut. Now, it is beginning to fail to turn off after the first run, so it's just on all day after the first time is set. None of the programming was changed, and there are fresh batteries in the device. It simply doesn't shut the valve off reliably when it should. There shouldn't be any mineral buildup as it's connected to house water (from the city/county) and has only been operating for a short time. I have this connected to a hose straight off the house spigot into a misting system for my greenhouse. Very disappointed. UPDATE -- June 19, 2017 -- Not only does the unit refuse to turn off as programmed, but even when the dial is turned to OFF, it will continue to turn on at pre-programmed times. So, even when OFF, will turn on at either/both times set and refuse to turn off automatically after the allotted time. Garbage product. Almost certainly a software defect as the valve will turn on as programmed and can manually be shut off with some trickery (telling it to run manually even though it's still on, then turning dial to off will shut it off). ... show more
