  • Radio Flyer Tricycle
I really like this tricycle. It reminds me of when I was a kid way too long ago. Radio Flyer has been around a long time. I really like that. It has all the Radio Flyer quality that I was used to when I was a kid. Very sturdy and well built. Good instructions on how to assemble. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble only because I could not find my hammer. This is what took the most time. If I had all the tools available, it should have only taken 10 or 15 minutes at the most. This tricycle has a rod in the back which allows you to keep your child going the right direction. This rod is a great addition for a beginner tricycle. It can be removed when no longer needed. If you push the rod slowly and help your child to steer with his or her arms and hands then your child will quickly learn how to steer this great toy. Start out slow and don't do the steering yourself. Pull and push on your child's arms and hands to steer the tricycle. This way they more quickly learn what is required to steer. The only thing I did not like was that it was made in China. However, I did not ding the product for being made in China. The price was great for the quality of this product. I sure would like to see "Made in the USA" more. Kind of saddens you when the great toys of yesterday are no longer made in the good ole USA. Still rated it 5 stars because it does look to be very sturdy and should be around in the family a long time. I still use a 30 years old Radio Flyer wagon to pull my 2 year old in. I used it years ago with my second child who is now 30 years old. Sure do like the name brand. NOTE: I was careful to read the reviews before I bought this tricycle for my 2 year old. Taking a few minutes reading reviews can save you a whole lot of time down the road. This is something I am doing more and more as I order more products over the internet versus buying locally. Most local retailers sell junk so you will have to buy again soon. This helps them maximize their profits. But does you little good. This is why I am more and more an internet shopper for what my family needs and wants. I live in a large metropolitan area with many stores close by and I am convinced that most of what the local stores are selling is junk so they can make another sale soon of the same type of product. ... show more

  • My toddler loves it
My kid plays a lot with this tricycle, the material is durable and the vintage look makes it a stylish evergreen. A childhood staple.

  • Happy with purchase
Overall for the price this was a great purchase. We purchased this because of its classic look and the Radio Flyer brand, we also enjoyed the fact that the wheels are rubber and not plastic like most of the trikes we looked at. Our son is still a little small for it, even with the seat in it's lowest setting, but he loves it and has enjoyed being pushed around the house with it so far. So the push handle has been wonderful for saving our backs. Draw back to this model is the push handle doesn't steer and isn't really sunstantial enough to steer with so you rely on the little one to do it or wind up bending over to do it yourself. The bike is very sturdy, looks and works perfectly. Handle bars seem to loosen a bit and become off center, but haven't really taken a look yet to see if that can be resolved. ... show more

  • as much fun for grandpa as for the grandkids!
We purchased this trike just prior to a visit with the grandkids, It arrived on time (actually, two days early)and in good shape. The bike has a cream and red paint job and looks new-vintage. It was easy to put together. We all loved the look (including the parents). I was glad to find a tricycle built from metal instead of plastics as my grandson is quite the little demolisher. Grandpa took him for a ride atleast 5 times each day that we were there. Although very tall for his age, our 20mo. could not quite keep his feet on the pedals when in motion but had no problems keeping his feet up during the ride. He did steer a lot and sometimes cranked the wheel to the left (out of the blue) making us roar with laughter. A light push down on the bar corrected the movement quite easily. We chose this trike over the ones with the adult steering simply due to the free ratcheting pedals on that other style. We wanted the kids to be able to learn to ride as normal, with the safety of an adult near the helper bar. The other style is free wheeling; meaning if the child goes down a hill (even a slight grade), the bike takes off with no means of controlling the speed. They cannot pedal backwards in that type, or put pressure on the pedals to slow down the speed. I didn't want our grandkids rolling into the street at a fast speed with no means of stopping. This is just my opinion and a major reason we chose this particular trike. All in all, we feel we made a great choice and this radio flyer will be in use for a long time then passed down to the next child when out grown, rather than thrown in the trash when worn out. ... show more

  • Love it
This is a great tricycle. Well made, great paint job, and functional. It does not tip easily (any more than any other small trike). Has hard rubber tires, rather than plastic. Makes for a nicer ride and is quiet on the sidewalk. The handle works just fine. For those who complain about not being able to steer, simply push down on the handle and the front wheel will come up slightly. Then you can push it wherever you want and set it back down when you are heading in the right direction again. Takes very little effort to do this. It took about 20 minutes to assemble, and was not overly difficult. Packaging was fantastic, with each piece wrapped in protective wrap or cardboard to protect the paint. I'm happy with this purchase. ... show more
