The reviews overwhelmingly praise this kids' bike as an absolute joy for kids between the ages of 5 to 10. Users highlight that it features a good build quality, adequate battery life, ease of use, and it ensures safety without compromising the thrill and enjoyment of riding. However, few have raised concerns about its performance on steep hills and potential issues after exposure to moisture.

Pros

  • 🎉 Loved by kids within the age range of 5 to 10
  • 🔋 Impressive battery life enabling up to 3 hours of non-stop riding
  • 👍 Excellent build quality and durability
  • 💡 Smooth start with an on/off throttle ideal for beginners
  • 🔇 Operates almost silently, which could be beneficial in densely-populated areas

Cons

  • 🌧️ Might face functionality issues if exposed to water
  • ⛰️ Not suitable for steep hills or challenging terrains
  • 😕 Adult-sized brake lever perch could pose challenges for young children
  • ⏱️ Long recharge time and unnecessary hassle while swapping the battery

Should I Buy It?

Given the strong positive feedback from users, the bike seems to be a worthwhile investment for a fun and thrilling experience that doesn't compromise on safety for children within the recommended age range. However, the water sensitivity issue could be a factor to consider depending on your usage circumstances.

  • Awesome first electric bike!
My son bought this for my grandson for his 6th birthday and he's been writing it since the day he got it and has loved it and it's 11 months later and he just needs to move up to a bigger one that has suspension. Don't hesitate to buy one they are fun problem free and work, every time. Will likely give this to his 4 y.o. sister! ... show more

  • Great starter bike!
We bought this motorcycle 6 years ago, and my kids still ride it, the battery is still good and charges right up! It looks great, and has stayed in great condition! Bought it for my son when he was 5 and he still rides it sometimes he's 11

  • Awesome, Great for kids
Awesome, Great for kids. I bought this for my 5 year old last year and he still uses it almost everyday. He is six now and it's still a perfect fit. He learned how to ride this before he learned how to ride a bike. Pros: It's fun! My 5 year old loves it. His friends and cousins love it. Adults love it too. It's a good size for 5-7. Older kids, adults can ride it too though. My 14 year old and her friends use it all the time. It's quiet. I live in a quiet suburban neighborhood. He rides it around our neighborhood and It doesn't disturb anyone. It's fast. My 14 year old used a couple of times when she was late to school. There's a learning curve, but it wasn't that long. My son had some falls, a few hard ones while learning how to turn and stop. Without ever learning how to ride a bike, it took him two days to balance on this. It took him a few weeks before he was able to perfect the turns and stopping distance without falling. Good quality parts. My kid has run it through mud, small hills, thick grass, wet grass, tall weeds and it has never failed. Set up was easy. It comes mostly completed. All I had to do was install the handlebars and mudguard. It took less than 15 min. Cons: It's fast. Using my bike, I can keep up with my son but I'm pedaling hard. It definitely takes a responsible kid to use this. I never let my younger kid use it unless I'm supervising. As advertised, it's battery powered. My battery initially lasted about an hour. After 9 months of almost daily use, it lasts about 40 min. With that said, I wish we could take is camping but we don't because we would not be able to use it more than 40 min. Recommendation: Buy it! ... show more

  • Fun bike but has some restrictions
I purchased this bike for my kids after purchasing a used one on Craigslist only to find out it needed a new battery...I'll get into that more later. These bikes are GREAT! they go about 15-16 on pavement. Even me at 205 lbs can get it cooking..just a bit slower ramp up speed ;) Ok so yes they run great, brakes work great, they are pretty fast- here are the down sides. And I understand most of these may be common sense but I will list them anyhow. Cons -They are illegal to ride on your street.(Wisconsin for sure) Our kids actually got pulled over by an officer. Someone had called them in. The officer was very polite and felt bad for having to do it but we were banned from the streets. And this is a NON traffic street. But hey maybe it saved their lives ;) It was becasue of this though we sold both of them at a HUGE loss. -Grass---If your kids are around 50 lbs these run pretty good on flat grass. Not the best on any slight incline of grass. My older son is 100 lbs and he rides on the grass ok but definitely a no go on an incline with grass. -Batteries are expensive. Plan on paying $70+ after shipping.. So if you find a used one on Craigslist make sure to take 10 minutes to test the battery. Like I said the gal I bought it from flat out lied to me. If you buy a new one, this shouldn't be an issue. The battery was VERY easy to install. -Decals- Our new one came with all the decals placed on it. After a couple days most of them started to fall off. not a big deal to me though. So yeah, I would probably buy another one if I lived in an area with a good space to ride them. Definitely not if I had a small yard as eventually the police will be called. if you buy a used one, add in the cost of a new battery. I know this is a DUH but make sure your kids have a helmet 15 mph is a pretty good speed to crash into a parked car or house.. ... show more

  • Nothing To Not Like
My neighbor's 6 year old son has one of these, so of course my 6 year old son had to keep us with the Joneses. I did a brief internet search trying to find a place close to where I live that sells them, and of course, the best bargain! I was kind of surprised to see Amazon's name pop-up on the search. I thought, well, they pay to advertise on Google, so their name probably pops up on every search like mine. Then I thought, hey, if Amazon really has this, I know they offer free shipping on items over $25. Then I also thought, surely they have limitations on that "free shipping" offer. Well, if they do have their limitations on free shipping - this isn't one of them. I thought WOW!, I'm spending basically what it sells for at Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us and I'm having it brought right to my door to boot! Now that is awesome. It gets better. I had the bike together and I new everything was good-to-go, I thought this is something I have to share with anyone on Amazon who's thinking about buying one! When I brought this item up again, it shows the price dropped $18! At first I was shocked! Wow, Amazon's selling these for even cheaper yet and still offering free shipping! Man, every kid on my street's gonna be getting one of these now! Then I thought, HEY, WAIT A MINUTE! That's not fair! I paid too much for this bike! Well, to make an already too long of story a little shorter (especially since I haven't even talked about the bike, yet), I asked Amazon for the $18 refund toward this bike and they gave it to me! They credited my credit card within about 8 hours! On a Saturday! As a parent, I'm very happy about the price. I'm also very happy how happy it's made my son. You can see it in his eyes. Priceless. This bike arrived (I again state - FREE) within a week. It's packed in a styrofoam form that is in 2 halves encompassing the bike, so there's just about no way this bike is gonna get damaged in transit. Wrapped around that styrofoam form-fitting coffin is a heavy cardboard wrap and two plastic banding straps that makes it easy to carry. (For you and the UPS driver.) After opening everything up and getting the bike out onto the ground, you almost have to have someone balance it for you or lean it up against something in such a way while you slip the from wheel assembly on. All the assembly hardware comes ON the bike instead of in a bag to fiddle around with and find. The manufacturer was smart to do this. You know there will be no missing parts not put in the parts bag, because there's no parts bag. Just loosen the hardware and hold the front fork and slide the long bolt through and fasten it again. There's only one way you can put the fork on. Idiot (daddy) proof! Makes daddy look like he knows what he's doing without having to resort to instructions! After the front wheel assembly is on, you take the handle bar out of the box. Again, the bike has the hardware already in place where the handle bar goes. Take out the 4 bolts and the 4 1/2 bracket pieces and position the handle bar into place and re-insert the hardware. The handle bar has these grooves or ridges to position right where the brackets are. They help with centering and they also help with really being able to tighten down the hardware snug enough to where the handle bar won't move, but first have your child can hop on so you can make the final adjustments before torquing the bolts down. All the tools you need to assemble, maintain and adjust this bike are included. They're the cheap/disposable/one-time-use kind, but they are supplied. Next, you put the front fender on with one screw. You can only put that on one way, too. The right way. Then you pull the front number sign up into position and screw it into place. Done. The instructions say the bike was shipped charged but to charge it for at least 8 hours before using. I turned on the bike just out of curiosity. Green light. It was charged. But I plugged it in anyways. I was glad my son even suggested it. Even though he's 6, he's on the ball. That and he knows how the thing works because of the neighbor boy's. How you go about charging it may be the nicest feature. We have a Barbie Jeep and some other battery-powered 4-wheeler. When you go to plug those in, you have quite a chore. On the Jeep you have to open the hood, unplug the battery (which is hard with weak hands due to arthritis), then plug that into the charger plug. On the 4-wheeler, you have to remove the seat go gain access. On this dirtbike near where your right knee is when sitting on it there's a plug-in outlet with a dustcover cap on it. Right above that plug is the on-off switch. The charger is one of these newer kinds. The cord comes out of the wall about 4 feet to a rectangular box, then another 4 feet of cord to a plug. The plug end that goes in the bike can only go in one way. It has a threaded ring to screw on to outlet to make sure it makes full contact while charging. When it's done charging, unscrew the ring and pull the plug out. Push the cap/cover on, turn the bike on and fold down the footpegs and your ready to go! Right hand throttle has 2 positions (I think I noticed before he took off) slow and fast. Hand brake on the left hand side of the handle bar. This thing moves! Tires were aired up to where they were suppose to be. This bike is built nice. Comes with kickstand. Red and green light near the right thumb shows battery levels. I need to look into whether this has the Lithium Ion type of battery or not. Those are the ones you can charge anytime you want. The old ones (Ni-Cad) you were supposed to let discharge completely before recharging so they didn't hold a memory. My son likes to come in for lunch/supper and plug it in for that 1/2 hour or so. I'm not sure that's doing anything (good or bad) or not. Also, one thing I did have to check the instructions for is, whether the on/off switch needed to be on or off while charging. Instructions says it doesn't matter. Get one. You won't have a thing to be sorry for! ... show more

  • Great for the price, not equivalent to a "real" dirt bike
I got this for $200 delivered, bought it for my 4-yr old since he's still too short to touch the ground on my old Honda Z50R (my first bike when I was a kid). For the price we paid it is actually built surprisingly well. History on my kid; he would ride with my on my Honda 50 and he would control the throttle, brakes and shifting while I managed the steering and balance (and occasional parental override on the brakes), so he had a good feel for the controls before he got onto this Razor. So the first time he got onto this Razor he took right off! And he loves riding it! The motor has enough power to pull my 45# kid through mild grass and dirt (dirt roads) just fine, and even some mild woods trails. Mild hills are no problem, but it won't climb steep hills or go through deep sugar sand by itself. The throttle is NOT variable, it's on/off, but it starts off very smoothly so it's not a jolt when he turns the grip, and he picked right up on bumping the throttle on/off to go slow. It only has a rear brake (lever on the left handlebar) and no suspension. But the battery goes easily for an hour of non-stop riding on a hard surface and top speed is around 15mph on hard ground. The brake lever is adult sized; the perch has the lever far enough from the bar to be comfortable for an adult or older kid, but my 4-yr old son has to take his hand nearly off the handlebar to reach out to the lever. But once he gets his hand on it he has no trouble pulling it in (for small hands, adjust it so the engagement point is closer to the bar), and it is plenty strong to lock the rear wheel even on pavement. For general zipping around this is fine, but it won't be good for teaching technical riding where a rider needs to keep his fingers on the brake lever at all times. As soon as you touch the brake lever it turns the motor off which is probably a good feature for beginning riders. The foot pegs are plenty wide, even for adults, and they fold up which is nice in a crash (and we've had lots of crashes!). There is no suspension so the poor little guys get beat up pretty good on rough ground. My son isn't standing when he rides yet so he likes to avoid the very bumpy areas. The chain is completely covered so there's no chance of the kids getting their pants or shoe strings caught in it. It's very light weight (maybe 50#) so when the little kids fall the bike isn't hard to pick up and doesn't squish them. The knobs on the tires are flat and square, similar to a trials tire, which means they have plenty of grip on hard surfaces. The seat height is low so little kids can touch the ground easily. Charging takes several hours, so once the battery goes dead it's time to plug it in and go find something else to do for a while. You have to remove several screws to get to the battery, so even if you had a spare, swapping it while at the riding area would be a bit of a pain. Pros: inexpensive, very light weight, soft forgiving (but adequate) power that won't intimidate little kids, low seat height, reasonable battery life, fold up foot pegs, good build quality, nearly silent so the neighbors won't complain. Cons: no suspension, non-variable throttle, adult sized brake lever perch, not enough power for steep hills, long recharge time and swapping batteries takes too long to be convenient for the purpose of bringing extra batteries to extend ride time Conclusion: If you want to figure out how "into" bikes your kids are before dropping $1500 on a real bike, or if you want to get a very small kid into the sport then this is a wonderful option. Despite the few short comings, this is a great bike for the price and my kid absolutely loves it. It won't compete with a 50cc pee-wee bike from Honda, Yamaha, etc.., and probably won't compete with an OSET electric ($1000), but it's less than 1/5 the price or the other bikes, at least 50# lighter than the gas bikes and definitely a good buy for the price. I suspect kids in the city will ride this thing until the wheels are worn off, but more serious aspiring off-road or motocross riders will probably outgrow it quickly. You get a lot of bike for only $200, so if this is your price point or if you've got a young kid just starting out then this bike is a good buy. ... show more

  • Perfect for our eight-year-old
This is a great little bike for our eight-year-old. We were looking for something that could be used in a neighborhood, so it couldn’t be too loud, and I didn’t want him to be able to go too fast. We clocked this at a maximum of 13 mph and it’s pretty quiet. He’s been using it since he got it for his birthday in October, so about six months now, and it’s still going strong. It typically needs to charge overnight, but then he can get 3 to 4 hours of solid use out of it which usually lasts him all day. All in all, this was a great purchase. ... show more
