  • Worth every penny, and then some!
UPDATE nearly 2 years later... While we have not been using this sauna every single day over the past (almost) 2 years, it has seen a lot of frequent use each month. We carefully keep it clean, it’s a cinch to maintain (indoors, anyhow) and it still looks fairly new. About a year ago, a cord got loose and we thought it was broken, but upon careful inspection, we found the culprit and reconnected it (I think it was somewhere at the top of the sauna, for some reason, and something very simple) - so thankfully that was an easy fix and had nothing to do with anything breaking or failing on it. It has honestly been working perfectly each and every time thus far, and I still absolutely love using it. I wanted to write a quick update for anyone considering buying this, since it has proven to be a very reliable and durable product for us for almost 2 years now. Between my husband and I, we use it at least 10-15 times a month and sometimes more - so it’s not like we’ve only used it a handful of times over this time period. We are super happy with it and the benefits it provides us, and still feel it is worth every penny! We highly recommend this product. *****Original Review We ordered and put together this sauna a few weeks ago, and I use it several days a week. We are a big fan of saunas, and previously were using the portable, funny-looking foldable ones where your head pokes out at the top and there are zippered areas to free your hands. While those are convenient and economical, they still don’t compare to a sit-down sauna, in my opinion. They are certainly not as comfortable. So we were super excited to get this in and use it. First off, unless you are Hercules himself, you’re probably not going to be able to assemble this on your own. This is thick, heavy-duty wood, and while it’s not TOO difficult in theory to put together, you really need a second person around to help hold things up, etc. Speaking of being heavy-duty...yep, this is heavy. It came in 3 boxes on a pallet. We put it upstairs in our bonus room, and it took 2 of us hauling the biggest pieces up the stairs (and they are SOLID). We had to open the packages and bring it up there by hand carefully piece by piece, because there is quite a bit of glass to contend with. After it was assembled, it worked perfectly from the get-go. We had absolutely no issues with anything. Although the description says 1-2 people, this is a sauna for one person, period. Even if there were 2 tiny, petite people that could try to fit, they would be practically right on top of each other. So...nope. It’s for 1. And it does seat one person comfortably, with enough wiggle room to not feel claustrophobic. Heating the sauna up is a breeze with a touch of a button. Yes, it takes a while to warm up to the toastiest levels, but they all do. I give it a good 30-45 minutes, and it’s almost always at 138-140. While I’m in there (I like to stay in for 40-60 minutes), the temperature can vary anywhere from 134-140, but it tries to stay pretty consistent towards the 136-138 mark. The light inside of it is nice and bright for reading, and it’s nice to listen to the radio or a CD from time to time. The radio thing also has a clock on it, which I like. Most of the time, however, I am usually using my earphones, listening to music and perusing through magazines. This comes with a small magazine rack and a cup holder. We didn’t feel we needed those as there is room on the bench for them while sitting, and the water containers we normally use are bigger than what the cup holder capacity allows. You can install them anywhere in the sauna, although they tell you where they recommend them. Overall? This is super easy to operate, works pretty flawlessly, is not overly time consuming to assemble with 2+ people, and best of all, provides amazing benefits. I always feel really good and my muscles are more relaxed after my sessions, and my skin is absolutely baby soft. I’ve been a fan of saunas for years, and we’re thrilled to have one in our house that works well, looks good, and of which we can comfortably use at our leisure anytime. I simply can’t say enough good things about it, and I feel that it was worth every penny. ... show more

  • So easy to put together!
This sauna is great, very relaxing. I've only had it a few days, but my husband and I are very happy with it. What drove me to write a review was the assembly process. My husband and I put it together in 2 hours. You'll need two people and at least one of you will have to be strong. Important points for assembly: * Read the instructions thoroughly. Some "steps" actually contain two pieces of instruction. Don't skim and just do the first part of the sentence. * There is a part in the instructions where the top of the left page says "For X model only" while the right page said, "For model Y only". So I skipped that whole left page. Don't do that! Read all the instructions! The only thing on that page that was only for "model x" only was that one step. Oops. * The roof assembly instructions got a little lazy. This was the toughest part. They told us to fish all the cables down through the ceiling but forgot to tell us there is a power cord you have to fish UP through the ceiling and connect. We ended up having to take the roof back off to figure it out. There was a cover to the roof and no instructions for putting that on either. * Be warned, you'll have to slide the roof panel on top of the whole sauna, then it pops down into the sauna itself. You'll have to get on a ladder and plug things in up there. You'll need a little bit of headspace to account for all of this. At least a few inches. * Instructions also say to allow 5 inches of space around the sauna. Account for this in your measurements before you buy. What was great about assembly: * Even with the mistakes we made above, it still was together within 2 hours. * The walls all buckle-- yes, buckle-- together. Like a briefcase buckle. This made assembly so much easier - no screws and such for that. General: This says 1 to 2 person sauna. I'm 5'2", 125lbs. It could fit two of me easily. However, when my husband and I sat in it, we can technically sit beside each other, but our arms are touching. We decided that once we started sweating, that would be annoying, so we don't use it together. This was a spur-of-the-moment splurge purchase for us and it was worth it! If you're considering it, go for it! Enjoy! ... show more

  • Great sauna!
Assembly: One person can put this together if you have a reasonable amount of strength. It took me a couple of hours, and it wasn't too difficult. It arrived on a big pallet with 3 big, heavy boxes. Make sure you have a good amount of space to unpack the boxes as they are big. There's a lot of packing materials (styrofoam, etc) so be prepared to fill up about 4 trash bags (not including the cardboard). Thin wood panels are taped to the outside of the boxes, but as far as I can tell, they aren't used for anything. The panels and door are pretty heavy, but manageable. I'd recommend gloves and a long-sleeved shirt when handling the unfinished portions (such as the top) because it is easy to get splinters and/or skin irritation, which aren't so pleasant during a sauna session. You will need a ladder for working on the roof. The glass door is held in place by wood blocks that you will need to pry off with a flat head screwdriver. If any staples are left in the wood, just pull them out with a pair of pliers. When attaching the roof cover, make sure it is centered and there is enough wood below to drive the screws in. If all else fails, you can drive the screws in at in angle. When screwing the back heater cover into the bench, the screws are a bit difficult to reach. The overall construction quality is not top-notch, but still decent enough. Usage: It takes a while to heat up to 140 F (30-45 minutes or so, but may vary in different exterior temperatures). 140 is the maximum heat that you can set, but that is plenty for me. Sometimes the interior temperature goes up to 141. Also note that since this is an infrared sauna, it is not necessary to wait for the ambient temperature to rise in order to gain the effect of the sauna, but if you are more used to traditional saunas, then you might want to wait until it heats up. The magazine rack is small, so it only holds magazines if you fold them. It does, however, hold a tablet or a manga just fine. Even so, I'm planning on mounting a larger magazine rack on the side wall. The drink holder won't accept a standard size mug, but most glasses and water bottles should be fine. For the stereo, you can connect a music player, but you will need a cable (most likely a 1/8" stereo male to male cable). The audio quality is decent. Be careful not to accidentally touch the bench heater with your legs when it is hot. There is a nice wood smell when the sauna is on. There is a control panel on the inside and outside, which is nice. There are buttons for adjusting the temperature, time, and toggling an interior/exterior light (but only the interior light button does anything). Overall: I'm very happy with this purchase, and mine will get a lot of use. I had never used an infrared sauna before, but it works great. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. ... show more

  • Easy to set up, easy to use, but needs minor changes to be fully enjoyable
The sauna does indeed work well for a single person, but this certainly doesn't seat two. It heats up to 120F even when kept in an environment that gets down to 60F. The construction is rather simple and not entirely stable, but that is to be expected with a design meant to be easy to set up and take down. I strongly recommend having a second person available to do the setup. A single person can do so, but latching the walls becomes far more difficult without someone else available to help hold it together during the process. I have only one major complaint with the product: If you're leaning against the back rest in the designed (stock) configuration, you WILL burn your back. The heaters are simply too close to your body. After the first use, I had to add a few 1-inch wood shims beneath the ribs of the back rest in order to increase the space between heaters and back. Once this was done, the sauna became perfectly usable and enjoyable despite the slightly shallower seat. Addendum Sept. 2020: The sauna is still in perfectly usable shape. The whole thing has been working flawlessly since early 2017. The only concerns I've had to address are small and simple things. 1. One of the panel latches ended up a bit bent out of shape and corroded. This was something first noticed upon delivery, but was easily remedied. However, it's something to bear in mind. I'm guessing it was exposed to something prior to delivery, and that ruined whatever finish or enamel present to protect it. 2. A few of the seat and back rest screws' heads have broken off. This product is low price for the consumer, so costs had to be cut somewhere. It seems that the quality of the screws must be one of those points, because even for screws in their size and type class, it's very easy to over-torque and rip the heads off. A couple have even snapped on their own. If you're buying one new and intend to take it apart to move it at any point, invest in a good set of matching screws. I fully expect that nearly all of the screws will be destroyed if I ever have to disassemble mine. Despite the minor annoyances of the above, I've also noticed one positive surprise, too: Not a single spider or insect has ever been found in the sauna! Even during times when it hasn't been put to use for a while, none of the numerous spiders around here have left evidence of exploring the sauna. Not one. I'm guessing there's something about the hemlock that's keeping them out. Whatever it is, it's good news for me. ... show more

  • Wish I would’ve spent a little more
Build quality is not the greatest, I assumed this going into it but it’s fairly cheap. Assembly is fairly easy with no special tools required aside from troubleshooting, I’ll get into details later. Other people have stated theirs get 130+ but mine struggles to get above 111+, even after being on for almost 2 hours. Furthermore I need to troubleshoot which heaters aren’t working, which isn’t a huge deal but it also isn’t ideal on something that is brand new so you just expect it to work. I was tempted to buy one at Costco but after doing more research I decided to go with this, I regret that decision. Amazon wasn’t the greatest to deal with on this delivery, the third party delivery service was giving me different information than what Amazon was giving me and after talking with multiple customer service representatives they just telling me wrong information. ... show more

This was a pandemic purchase that I just finally opened and set up. Life. Anyhoo. I got mine at that time for under $1200 including shipping. It’s awesome. I’m 5’7”, 50ish, and I was able to put this together all by myself without issue. The corners simply latch together. I used a rubber mallet to get everything snug. I did have to use my multi tool to cut a slightly larger groove in a cross board for the roof wiring to fit and lay flat so I could install the component cover. Speaking of which-be mindful that the large square veneer plywood that may appear to be throw away, is that component cover. I also suggest that you take time to pre drill holes where necessary because the hardware isn’t the best quality and the screw heads will strip. Thankfully there’s extra hardware included. I read reviews that it doesn’t get to 140f. Not true. You simply need to keep the door and roof vent closed and it will heat to and stay that temperature without issue. Pretty sweet lil sauna, but definitely only a 1 person unit! Enjoy! ... show more

  • Updated review
I submitted an earlier review on this Sauna and the service received. Service was great and company provided excellent service. The only update is the light does work, just found the switch. Hated to admit this but had to give all credit to this product and the company. will be doing business again with these folks. Wanted to add product arrived on time as scheduled and I put it together by myself within an hour. You could use a helper to make it easier however. I was sweating within an hour. Wife loves it, great for her sinus problems, etc. We thought the light inside was not working so the company sent a new one really quick. However, light does work fine. Admit was my fault for not seeing the obvious switch. Great product great service. ... show more
