So easy to attach. Not intended to bear all weight, rather an addional safety device to steady and prevent slips and falls. I did test it after attaching it to our fiberglass shower surround. I pulled like crazy with all my weight bearing down. It didn't budge.

With an injury making me much more unsteady, I've been testing out a few shower grab bars this week. This grab bar definitely made a potentially slippery environment feel much safer. The installation was very fast. There are red and green indicators for each suction head plus an adhesive. Despite the adhesive you can still move the bar around as you figure out what works best for you. The bar has a few things that make it easier to hold on to compared to others including the rubber like feel and the many grooves. Others I tried are a slippery plastic. Even with soap on your hands, this feels safer. While I haven't tried my full weight (according to the specs I could), I have used this to get in and out of the shower as well as use it to stand up from the shower chair. I did test it out some with more weight and pulling and it felt quite secure. FYI the shower I installed it in was acrylic not tile so I can't comment on that installation. I would recommend this grab bar.

My bathroom is tiled with 4-inch white tiles. That means that this grab bar cannot be installed horizontally or vertically...the suction does not work over grout lines. I finally got it to stick diagonally, where the two suction discs are completely over single tiles. It seems to be holding well in that position and feels solid, but I was looking for a horizontal bar.

After carefully following the installation directions for attachment to our ceramic tiles I was able to remove this grab bar from our bathroom wall with three pulls. Previous to pulling on the grab bar, both indicators showed stronger adhesion, 230-300lbs, according to the description. I was not using that much weight. My wife and I ordered them as a temporary fix for her elderly mother. I do not trust this item to support an individual, especially a handicap or elderly person who must rely on grab bar support to prevent injury. I have ordered proper grab bars and will be fastening them into wall studs.

I'm 63 years old, I've had 2 shoulder surgeries after being injured at work, and now they want to do a knee replacement. It's like everything is going at once. I'm slowing down and everything is becoming more difficult. I normally shower, but also like a hot (LONG) bath occasionally, too. It was when my hand slipped on the side of the tub and I fell, that I realized I was getting to where I needed something like this device to hold on to. The fact that this device has the red/green 'suction indicator' gives me piece of mind that there's a good attachment, but as mentioned in the ad, never use this to 100% support your full body weight. I've only used this product for maybe 3 weeks, but so far, so good! I am completely satisfied with it. Truthfully, I'll probably get a second one, so I have one on the wall beside my tub, and one on the top of the other side of the tub. Again, never rely solely on this device to keep you from falling. It's only meant to assist you, and it does it very well. Note that it is meant to attach to a non-porous, flat, smooth surface. I can highly recommend this product.

Getting the suction to work at first was a little confusing, since most of these types require putting water on it. This one has a little "give" to it, so just press the whole handle down while engaging the suction thingy. It's large enough to be useful vertically (which is the way I installed it) to accommodate different grab locations depending on height. The inside is textured, always a plus when stability is required. And the outside of the bar has a good silicone grip. I feel safe holding this while stepping down out of the shower.

I got this suction cup grab bar as a safety precaution to use after a surgery. It was very easy to install on my tile in the shower and I was pleased at how strong the hold was. What is really nice is that since it is a pressure suction it can be easily removed and reapplied as many times. There is a window on each end that turns from red to green when the suction is good, so you can feel confident that it is secure. I would recommend this to anyone.
