It really intimidated me bc no one else seemed to have one. Then I read about a local family who bought one and loved it. It’s not only a quicker but less expensive alternative to mini splits (LESS expensive installation AND cost to run). But it works fabulous, and still leaves my window available. After 3 months of use this ac unit leaked all over our new floors - I am so disappointed in this - it had worked lovely to cool down the bedroom until we came home to find Freon all over the floor ! We wanted something to not be so bulky and this worked over our window and when it worked it was lovely and quiet - there was a noise but it wasn’t loud and as it was in the bedroom window it was a noise you could sleep with on. Blew out lovely cold air. It was great till it leaked . Don’t think I can get a replacement as it was 3 months ago.

This unit is exactly what I needed. It cools down my tiny apartment quickly, was easy to install (it was a bit tough without a second person but I made it happen), and looks great without blocking much of the window. However, it was delivered on its side despite the box having a “this side up only” warning (this can mess up the compressor), and when I opened it I found a large dent in the side of the unit. Thankfully the unit still functions, because by the time I went to exchange it the unit and most like it were all sold out because of the heat wave. I contacted customer service and they were nice enough to give me a discount for the damage, but I wish the unit were handled better (and possibly packaged better?) in the first place. Also there was a note saying to contact customer service instead of returning the unit, but it had zero customer service contact information.

I have this for almost a year work perfect it needs a lot of maintenance to work good like taking draining water every 7 days or having a hose connected if that works for you and cleaning the filter one time each month

The concept of this is ideal. But it freezes each time I use the cool setting. With all settings it makes this loud noise that sounds like it's coming from by the spinning fan part to blow out the air. I've tried to look inside to see if there is something in the way but haven't noticed anything yet. I do question if the humidity and/or drastic drop in temp at night could be contributing to the freezing though. I've never had a window unit freeze so often though. The louder noise in the fan isn't terribly obnoxious because it's in a room not used terribly often throughout the day. This was purchased to supplement the central air of the house and direct the cool air to the commonly used areas instead of the unsued spaces throughout the day, so I can't totally vouch for the coolness. I do super appreciate being able to see out my window and have natural light. It was easy to install. I wasn't pleased with the delivery though, but that is not at the fault of the seller. My package was left ON my stairs to my house, at an angle, in the rain. I have a fully covered porch that sits up a total of 3 steps. I understand it's large and heavy, but if it's taken up 2 steps, why not finish? Especially with knowing the weather that day? I don't believe that this has caused any of the freezing or loud sounds though. I don't see how that could affect either of those. The return period has passed in my time of attempting to troubleshoot my couple issues but I don't think it's a waste, just not exactly what I was expecting. I do plan to continue keeping an eye to see if there's a reason I can pinpoint for the freezing and noises though and hopefully I can really get my money's worth with this.
