  • Awesome!!
I purchased this attic fan Jun 2023. Today is Aug 2025 so this review is a complete 2+ year review. Shipping great as expected, packaging was great as expected. I live in central Texas and we go through temperatures of 90 to 105+ degrees during our summers. My attic we'll surpasses that. Let me say this fan has worked flawless in the hottest summers the attic is noticeably cooler around the area where it's installed and during our summers it runs nonstop all day and won't stop until we'll in the mornings. It's quite and moves a lot of air and built like a tank. I will probably buy another 2 or 3 due to the size of my attic. Hands down we'll worth the money! ... show more

  • Quality Product & Construction.
This Solar Powered Attic Fan Does The Job Well , It was easy to install too. It’s very quiet and moves the heat out well . Great value too not having to rip up the roof ,Nor expensive electrical work needed . Will buy again for my Garage Project next ⚒️

  • Works great, just one flaw.
I have 2 of the solar attic fans and they work great. They keep my attic 3-5 degrees of the outside temperature. Which if you know attics, they can reach 120-130 degrees. If you duct work attic furnace are located in the attic, your unit is going to work that much harder in the summer months. The only flaw is, which I notice that there are other reviews with the same issue and this is you can get water entering in where the fan exhaust the hot air. What I found out with my situation, it only happens when there is a very heavy wind, hard rain and with a steep pitched roof which I have. You can see the pitch of the roof and the flashing that roofer installed in the picture. The wind blows the rain horizontal, it bounces off the roof into the outlet of the fan. At first I thought it wasn’t installed correctly. Roofer came on 2 different occasions. Checked everything and the attic fan was installed correctly. So finally, one storm that we had with the right conditions I actually went into the attic and witnessed what was happening. So, called back the roofer who installed and explained to him what was happening and he basically said there is nothing he can do about it other then to remove it and put the roof back the way it was. I explained to him if you just put a flashing in front of the attic fan that would block the rain from coming in. Again he refused. With the benefit that these 2 attic fans installed, I was willing to try everything I could not to take them out. I called another roofer and explained to him what was happening and he has heard of this before, which the other roofer said he never seen this happen, and said he would install the flashing. Now we have had 2 storms with heavy wind and rain and no more water coming in. Hopefully this helps anyone else this this issue. Hopefully quiet cool can come up a solution for this issue. ... show more

  • Happy so far
Fan is quiet enough. If you're on the roof or in the attic, you'll hear its hum but it's nothing overwhelming. Inside the house one can not hear it. It can run on solar power alone. Depending on the sun's intensity, the motor can run at full speed or slower. The included 20V AC backup power ensures that the fan runs even on cloudy days. The built-in thermostat ensures the fan turns on at around 80 degrees F. There is no way to adjust the thermostat nor force the fan on or off. There is a bug / finger protection screen that faces the inside. The openings will keep out larger bugs and rodents but not flies, termites etc. Installation was easier than I expected. Check out the various online videos. I'm an experienced DIYer and have done reroofing repairs. You'll have to determine if it's something that you can handle yourself or have it installed. ... show more

  • Makes a big difference in interior house temperature
Was pretty easy to install, despite QuietCool's video and written instructions being pretty meager. There's a few freelance installation videos on youtube, all with different details. Fan is very, very quiet. I can't hear it in the room beneath it, and actually thought it wasn't running until I climbed on the roof and checked. I noticed the difference in the interior temperature immediately. This house holds heat in the attic and then the entire house heats up and stays hot all night. Additionally, the AC ducting runs through the attic, and when the attic is up over 120 degrees, it takes more to keep that AC air cool in the ducts. I haven't had to run the AC since installing this fan. The house temp is about 9-10 degrees cooler with this fan in service. I do plan to run the included AC adapter to a plug and then to a switch down to the hallway so that I can run the fan when I want. Overall I'm really pleased with this solar powered attic fan. It's gonna lower my electric bill for sure. ... show more

  • Add plenty of well placed vents and it works.
3 years of reliable operation on solar only, using no plug in power. Doesn’t run unless there’s direct sun on it but cranks up high when’s it’s really shining. Effective quiet and so far reliable. A brushless design at this cost point should work for many years, so far so good. Performance completely reliant on air vents to allow for storing air movement. We installed large soffit vents throughout so it works very well. Without ample air admittance any fan would be minimally effective and die a premature death. Don’t expect a product to defy the laws of physics people, the fan itself is only part of the solution. ... show more
