I read hundreds of reviews on this product before purchase. Some had me concerned when they say it was tied off correctly and heavy winds still tore it up and damaged whatever it was supposed to protect. All I can say is, THEY DID NOT HAVE IT ANCHORED CORRECTLY! I purchased this for vendor events, but recently took it on a camping trip because they were calling for rain. RAIN is all they were calling for. We got it up about an hour before the rain started, but it wasn't just rain...an arctic cold front and we were on the lake. For the following 16 hours the winds were a constant 23 to 29 mph with gusts of up to 40mph. (I checked the weather history when I got home to see just how strong the winds were recorded at. You're more than welcome to check the weather history in Huntsville, Tx. on Nov. 11,2019 to verify). Any whoo, we only had the 4 corners on the ground as we had centered it over our pick nick table, but those 4 had stakes. The remainder of the canopy was tied down via the 8 loops on the cover iteself. We, 7 campers, sought refunge within the canopy with our heaters and had a very pleasant evening with the winds whipping outside and the temperatures dropping into the 20's..Brrrr. The winds continued long after we had reitired and to my complete satisfaction...the next morning....it was in one piece right where we left it. ... show more

Well it's been up now for 2 weeks now and it's been through several rain storms with wind and as you can see it is raining now, in photos. I read reviews before I purchased the tent and most of the bad reviews, I thought, might have to do with lack of tent experience and knowledge. When we opened it up everything was there but on inspection of the parts it was quite apparent that THE STAKES PROVIDED ARE A JOKE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU PEOPLE HAVE NOT UPGRADED THE STAKES YET AND THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE, AS WELL, A JOKE! Ok, I'm done yelling. We bought 2 rolls of white duct tape, 4 swing set anchors, for the 4 corners, and 4 REAL TENTSTAKES, at the hardware. We taped all of the poles, in the frame, togeather, with the duct tape, as we assembled it. We put the top part togeather and put the legs, poles, on one side of the frame, then pulled the tent over the frame, before installing the legs on the back side. This way it was easy to reach to fit it properly and then we put the legs on the back of the tent, the corners first and then the inner poles. We tied the provided guy lines to the tent and put the 4 anchors, at a 45° angle to the corners, then attached guy lines to them. We used the real tent stakes, that we bought to finish up the guy lines. Be careful to identify which side of the sides go on the inside. The window flaps go on the outside. We screwed up and put the back on backwards, oops! Attaching the sides was quite tedious, so we elected to leave it. NEW - Ok, it stayed up, with absolutely no issues, until late November, in Northwestern Ohio. I wasn't able to get help taking it down until then. When I was a younger man and in good shape I could have dropped it by myself. It was up for a couple of months and, if it weren't for the heavy wet snow we get here, it probably would have stayed up all year! ... show more

I chose this product based on the reviews. Reviewers reported on its sturdiness- made of strong, quality steel, held up under 7 feet of snow and 50-mile-an-hour winds. I had it up for less than a month. The first wind we had- gusts of up to 25mph- the velcro wrap-around pieces tore away from the sides. I duct taped those and fortified the structure with tie-downs and stakes. Then we got 5 inches of snow. When I walked outside in the morning, the structure was crumpled on top of my son's car. The metal beams crushed and bent like an aluminum can. This product is crap. I now have $250 worth of garbage. ... show more

Update 6/12: Having used the tent as a carport for the past few months I am very happy with this purchase. The only suggestion I would make is to possibly have a 12ft width instead of 10. My Rav4 fits nicely but opening the doors to get out or in sometimes becomes a challenge if enough space hasn't been provided. The addl' couple of feet could address that. Thanks! -------------------------------------------------------------- Update 3/5: After shifting the tent in the driveway and making it a carport we had a stormy and windy day and the tent blew away because we hadn't added supports correctly. Talked to support and they immediately replaced the broken / twisted parts and shipped it in a matter of days. The tent is back up now with additional 9" support stakes and sand bags; should withstand heavy winds. Kudos to the support team for making the reorder smooth and easy (and also free)!!! ------------------------------------------------- Used it for a housewarming when the weather was cold and a bit rainy. Setting it up definitely took effort and an additional person or two is definitely recommended. We reinforced the stands with weights and tied them as well to the ground as we received wind gusts upto 45 MPH. Thankfully, the tent stayed upright and I am now confident it will withstand the weather. Onto making it a carport now!! I couldn't find the installation guide and sending an email to their support resolved it quickly. Attached is the installation if it helps anyone :) ... show more
