This is perfect. It will give you a good year of every day use if you’re throwing it around with heavy books, Chromebook and stuff. This is my teenage son’s second one, he wanted the same one again for this new school year. The zipper end tab broke and the water bottle pocket ripped on the first one after 9 months of use and abuse. This is for my 9 yr old son who is small for his age. It is light. It fits enough stuff (he doesn't have to carry a lot of books from school back and forth) but it fits his lunch box, water bottle (with a water bottle strap that keeps it from falling out) - and all the paper schoolwork he carry's home.
