  • Best Choice 10x10 gazebo - so far so great - updated 04-22-2020
We've had this gazebo up for 6 weeks now and it has been great. It is sturdy and had no problems handling 25 mph gusts (the wind is blocked on 2 sides by our house). We have not anchored it down. The roof didn't leak even during very heavy rain with gusty wind. We use it to cover a hot tub on our back deck. The screen does a very good job keeping most bugs out. A bird has come inside a couple times but only stays for a few minutes and finds its way out easily. We are going to fabricate a gutter & down-spout system to channel the run off from its roof. We've decorated with hanging plants, led lights and a small fan. The curtain hooks seamed to be cheap but they turned out to be problem-free. It was pretty easy to assemble with 2 people but took several hours and a 12 pack of Yuengling. We took our time and a few breaks. If I had to decide now I would definitely buy more stuff made by Best Choice Products. I will post updates and pics as time passes. Until then we will keep on enjoying our hot tub in privacy and securely sheltered thanks to our new gazebo. Cheers EDIT/ UPDATE: CHANGED FROM 4 TO 5 STARS. We've used this gazebo heavily for over 6 months now without the slightest hiccup. I considered buying replacement screens and curtains in case they stop making them by the time we need them (not a single thing wrong with them yet) but didn't because they'd be very easy to make from scratch or buy whatever is available (they're just big, standard sized squares of fabric etc). We've had a couple bad storms this spring and the gazebo was undamaged even though it got covered in twigs, old acorns and leaves - similar during autumn and even snow. I wish I had a need for a second one because this one is still great. Cheers. ... show more

  • Classier look than fabric & one person assembly Classier look than fabric & one person assembly
I love it. I do agree to other reviews the top panels are so lightweight Im questioning durability. Time will tell. As long as there are replacements available, it would be easy enough to do. I love this look much more than the canvas kind. I did assemble in full myself which took me 5hours & using the house for a lean brace. Im 5’2” 125lb female to give insight. It probably would have gone faster, but I had some users I had to undo/redo some steps. FYI theres protective film on both sides of panels. One side is white and the other is clear so I began installing them after only removing the white side. DEFINITELY need to anchor which I did. The stakes provided wont hold this through a storm…it’s lightweight & will be gone Update: i’ve now had it for over a year and it has lasted through Wisconsin winters and falling branches. • Best you can get for the price. Best you can get for the price.
It was packed great. Came in 2 boxes. Took me about 4 hours to frame and roof it by myself. I was impressed with the solid construction. Overall it is a good solid gazebo. It does get hot under the hot sun, but I got a nice fan that worked perfect for that. I don't know how the corrugated polycarbonate roof panels will hold up over time, but I'm hopeful. I like the way the rope lights reflect off of them. Things I added, the fan and lights caused me some grief when the adhesive clips I used wouldn't hold under the hot sun. I studied on it for a spell and thought, "why not use some kind of spring clamp to hold it up" because there's no place to use zip ties. I found large binder clips worked well, to hold the fan cable and the overhead run of the rope lights. Just a tip. I also added 2x4 inch velcro to the upper and lower corners of the screen, to hold it in place when it gets windy. For this price, I think it is a great gazebo, and you'd be hard pressed to find better. Spend about 400 more and get a metal roof one,but then no sun comes through. It has become my evening sanctuary. ... show more

  • Great product for the money
The only reason I did not give a 5 star was is an overall minor issued noted below. It took my wife and I longer than 2 hours to assemble. At the end of assembly my wife and I are still talking nicely to each other. In part due to our taken our time assuring we are reading instructions thoroughly, but there was one part - the cap to the roof that the threads weren't adequately cut. So I had to borrow Tap & Die set from friend to thread that part so the screws would fit. Then since the threads weren't cut correctly, I ruined a couple of screws trying to force it. that left me 1 screw short even with the extras they packed, That required I had to go to hardware store to find a comparable screw. That is the only defect we have found in the product, but it was a source of frustration at the time when I thought we were getting close to be finished. The instructions are VERY WELL written and easy to follow. The packaging is very well labelled and even the screws etc are packaged in a way that marks size of screws and easily corresponds to the instructions. Assembling the gazebo overall was not complicated and it is sturdier than I anticipated when I bought it. The roof is plastic and when I first touched the panels I was worried about its stability, but once you install and you have aluminum brackets holding it, it is very stable and should be very adequate to handle our snow we get in midwest. I do like the translucent properties to the roof, during the day time you still get overhead light from above sun or no sun. I installed on paver block patio and it was easy to put anchors in the pavers to secure the gazebo. In spite of the quality issue with the one piece I would not hesitate to recommend to close friend or family member to buy it. The quality issue was easily resolved with the right tool. Assembly instructions excellent, how they packaged everything and cross referenced to the instructions excellent. A lot of companies need to see how they did that and try to replicate their process. I read in other comments some people worried about rust, ABSOLUTE NO worry about rust, this is 98% aluminum frame the steel portions are well painted or internal to the framing where rust is NOT a worry. More to add after having installed for several months. The roof is water tight, no leaks. We have had rain and snow and it stands up well. The wind curtains are easy to zip. We erect it over our hot tub, perfect for providing cover for hot tub. We we able to use hot tub when below zero temps and 15 to 20 mph winds. What is nice on those extra cold nights with wind curtains closed there is enough heat coming off the hot tub to warm up the inside. Only thing I would do different is I would get the 10 x 12 model to provide a bit more space between the curtain and edge of the hot tub. Very Very please with the quality and performance of this gazebo. ... show more

  • SUPER Gazebo, even in strong winds!
I was waiting with my review until we got a good monsoon storm. Well, 2 days ago it was pretty windy and the palm trees got pounded left and right, but the gazebo stands still. There was no damage, no bending, nothing. Roof stayed on, curtains stayed where they belong. Good product, if you ask me! It took about 4 hours for 2 people to completely assemble it, unless you are like me and literally attach every single curtain wrong. Then it takes 5.... NOTE: I have it on a slate stone base, with concrete underneath and used concrete anchors to bold it down. I had to widen the holes in the base, since they are a size M6 - That wouldn't hold, I guess (Might be wrong here) - I used M8 bolts, so I had to drill the bottom plates of the posts a little. No big deal, but figured I mention it. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family! ... show more

  • Great little gazebo Great little gazebo
Sorry about the leaves! Its perfect. Took my husband alone two days to assemble. I just stayed out of the way. He is handy thank goodness. About six to seven hours total. The roof is pretty. Chose it for the price and size and looks because I wanted a cedar one but my house is older and I dont want to out do the house or have to spend that kind of money. It does match my storm door so that's a positive! Love it! My husband says to let every one know some of the holes didnt line up but was easily fixed with drill..I think one of the coolest features is the shower curtain style hooks built in on a bar for easy replacement and sliding. I imagine you could add your own curtains for privacy so perfect if your spa fits under it. Get creative! ... show more

  • Fits well, May Rust Fits well, May Rust
I think this deserves 3.5 stars, but not an option and 4 is too much because of the rust issue which is showing after just a a month's use. I'm not big on writing reviews as there are generally enough out there, but I hardly found anything on these gazebos, and this one in particular. I thought those looking for a more permanent structure might appreciate finding out about the things that matter on a mostly un-reviewed product. Pros: *PACKAGING: Superb...box inside of box inside of box (5 total). Even the packages holding the screws are slightly magnetic to make losing the one-billion screws less likely. *FIT WELL: Only one piece was slightly bent which made fitting one of the roof tiles tough, but everything came together so smoothly...no re-drilling holes, no misaligned unfixables. Super surprised considering this was the lowest price of the seemingly identical sets on Amazon. *ALL PIECES: No missing pieces, plus a couple extra screws just in case. *FUNCTION: The curtains work well, glide nicely, zip easily. The roof really does keep out UV, though not the heat on extra sunny days. Extremely sturdy. We love using this thing every morning and night when the weather allows. Cons: *RUST: This is supposed to be coated aluminum. The feet have already begun to show rust on ALL FOUR despite the fact that they have not been abused. The same location on the outside edge near pre-drilled holes on every foot. I am wondering how rust can start on aluminum in the first place, let alone coated aluminum. I am hoping two things. 1) Only the feet have this issue because they were made with some cheaper process than the rest (otherwise a very rusty situation is headed my way); and 2) The seller already has a fix en route, they will see this, and replace all four feet for me. If that happens my rating will climb to 4, and if the new feet work without rusting, I will raise to 5 because this is an otherwise fantastic gazebo that disappoints in no way. If the feet are the only spot that prove rusty, this will be awesome because they are the only pieces that do not interlock with the rest of the structure, so replacement will be mostly painless. ROOF CONSTRUCTION: Putting the roof together definitely requires two people. I was able to get almost the entire frame done alone, but when the roof framing go up, one other person is needed and two would make it simple. When putting the roof tiles in, again another is needed (and two others would be easy)--this part is really tricky because the roof pieces want to slide out while putting together five individual interrelated framing pieces at the edge. This really is the only hard part of the process. Otherwise, the pieces are labeled perfectly, the directions are written super clearly, and nothing is missing. Highly praise the process if you have two to three people to work together. Suggestions: *Include some sort of rain collecting tiny gutter (molded onto the outer edge strips) so that rain can be directed to the corners instead of just pouring over the edges of the roof *Fix rusting feet *Make the screws of slightly harder metal because the heads get stripped easily for the couple of tight fitting pieces that occur from imperfect (but still excellent) machining. I know 3 stars looks bad, but it is because I am worried about future rust all over as well as the fact that if this is advertised as aluminum and rusts, it may be falsely advertised as such since aluminum cannot rust. ... show more
