I moved from the desert to the mountains and quicky learned leaves loved my air conditioner compressor, and we have no shortage of leaves in the fall. I didn't want to cover the entire compressor because I read it wasn't the best idea (I guess critters find it to be a nice winter home if you do that). I just wanted to keep leaves from falling through the top. It has done that, in addition to keeping snow away from the motor. I have only been using it a short time, but the water beads when the snow melts, so it is water proof. The cover is made of thick nylon, but I don't know if that would last under the UV rays of the scorching summer sun at altitude. I will remove it in the spring, so I it will not need exposed to extreme sunlight. I initially considered a mesh cover so I could keep it on my compressor in the summer, but I don't have an issue with pine needles. It's only leaves in the fall. I am glad I got the solid cover since it also keeps out the snow. I am quite pleased with this purchase.

I was hesitant to buy anything for this purpose but I also didn't have any more scrap wood of suitable size to do the job. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of material and that it included the bungee straps for attachment. We'll see how well it holds up over the winter but I'm pleased with the purchase.

I had a full coverage cover and it lasted two years. The wind just shredded it. This one is only a year old but it seems to be holding up.
