I counter-sunk the speaker and i still have 5/8 of an inch of meat left. It sounds pretty boomy. I think i might try plugging the port as the box seems to have plenty of air space for one 12" speaker.

The Subwoofer box is very good,but the tuning was off a little but I fixed is with an extra peace of MDF wood and now it is tuned to the correct tune that I was aiming for and that was all,but over all it is an amazing subwoofer box and came in amazing shape and nothing was broken or messed up on the box at all and was over all very very happy with the product and wish that anyone that buys this product has a good time and has an amazing audio/jam time. ... show more

At first glance it seems to be a nicely finished and well put together enclosure, and it's not far from that. But there are a couple of issues to note. 1) the face panel is much thicker than other sides so the pictures give a skewed perceived thickness. 2) the thin other panels are dense and a little tricky to get a wood screw through, many simply stripped and free spun. 3) included wire cup, it's a problem many prefabs have, it's just cheap. Using this enclosure with an American Bass Elite 1244, being pushed by an Audiopipe APCLE-18001D @ 2 ohms. Installed in a small 4 door sedan first and did not quite get the sound I was looking for. Then installed in a extended cab pickup truck and oh man the sound was awesome. You can hear the notes clearly and the SPL is so satisfying. If you have a sub that requires more than 2.5 cubic feet I would recommend this enclosure all day long. Update: Had the box for almost 1 year now and its still holding up well. Just upgraded my subwoofer from the AB Elite 1244 to an American Bass HD 12 D2. Was pushing 1100rms now will be pushing 1800rms and see how well it holds up. Update: I have been running the American Bass HD 12 D2 in this box for over a year now. I have not had a single issue from this box yet. I did like most of the other reviewers here and added in a piece of wood to lengthen the port for a bit lower tuning. ... show more

    • Good box if you brace it

The box itself is great! As others have mentioned, it would be wise to brace the box inside. I put some braces ( 1in x 1in pine ) cut to various lengths, in corners etc. I also re glued all seams with normal Elmer’s wood glue (generous amounts). Box may have been fine without these things added, but I did it anyways since others had issues with these boxes flapping after the seams or glued parts failed. Running a American Bass XFL 1222 in this currently for about two weeks. No issues so far and everything looks and feels solid as hell. Could probably get away with just adding extra wood glue to all the seems and be good too, if you didn’t want to brace sides/corners with small pieces of wood. ... show more

Is listed as 3/4” mdf. It is actually 1/2”! Box def hits hard but like others, need to length the port or you’ll hear zero lows period. That’s how I discovered the box being 1/2” when I went to lengthen the port. Guess you get what you pay for🤷♂️

Used oak quarter round on all lengthwise edges and port, used plenty of Gorilla wood glue. Total cost around $90. Running a Harmony Audio carbon series 12" sub with Skar RP-1500 and it's very good. Had to downsize from a $300 box to fit my new car, but sound quality is similar despite loss of 1 cu. ft.(sub is recommended ported cu. ft. 2.47-3.97). ... show more
