I’m traveling to New Zealand so I’m looking for “one-stop shoe”. Every pound counts when traveling so I am looking for a shoe that’s versatile (light gym workout, casual and hiking). Also I don’t want to buy a shoe just for vacation, so I’m looking for something that I can use day to day, as my wife and I have an active lifestyle (primary use of shoe for daily walks with our Lab, when not on vacation) I’m usually a size 11-11.5, I bought an 11 and as I’m walking the dog the shoe does not feel snug. This is my first “trail shoe” so I don’t know what to expect though, so take my statements with a grain of salt. They aren’t as “comfy” as I expected, not nearly as the used Hoka’s I bought off eBay and not as snug as either my Nike running shoes or Salomon hiking boots. The price point is about 25-40% lower than all my other shoes which is a +. I’m not too picky so I’d wear them running errands. Overall rating 3.8.

I have been buying Altra shoes for a while. It is a great shoes for people who has a flat & wide feet. I believe that so far I have bought about 5 pairs of Altra superior 5 trail shoes and I just love them. It is not only super comfortable to wear for the wide & flat foot people, but it also has enough support to do a trail run. I wanted to try out this Lone peak 6 because it looked much more sturdy as a trail shoes. It does offer many similar characteristics as the Superior 5, but it comes with much cushiony bottom. I guess that is for the hard impacts running on trail. Also, it seems bit larger (longer) than my Lone peak. Both, I bought 9.5 and this one seems like size 10, not 9.5 But it has a great big and comfortable toe box and my feet are so happy inside. So, I am keeping them.

after many months of researching & trying different softball shoes, including umpire shoes! i finally found these altra trail shes & they fit perfect & very comfortable. i needed 10 1/2 4E but can't find them for softball shoes. i have plantirs-fiscitis , a toe bonion, & arthritis in both knees. these helped very much. finally some shoes that fit perfect & helped solve my main problems. i oredered the 10 1/2 wide & Bingo!

Judged by Running magazine as the best shoe of the year. I bought it and NO surprise! The best shoe I ever owned! I liked it so much I got second pair. Love them for running and walking. Seriously this product is a bomb! What matters though is how you lace it… first pair fir like a glove with slightly bigger toe box (as expected), but second pair needed multiple lace adjustment… finally they feel, look, and wirk the same as first pair. Never could have thought lacing could give so much wiggle and shape changing room. If you think at some sections shoes are too tight, play with lacing, at the end you will get your perfect fit. The best shoe ever. Like them so much I am really tempted to try new model Lone Peak 7. They definitely beat Nike for running.

OMG, I have wide feet and bunions and tophaceous gout, so finding shoes that actually fit and don’t aggravate my ailments is a godsend. My shoe size is 9EE, but with all my feet issues I have to buy my shoes in 9.5 or 10EEEE just so they don’t hurt. I took a chance and ordered a pair of Altra Lone Peak 6 in size 9W. Guess what? They fit like they used my feet for the lasts. Very comfortable, doesn’t aggravate my feet. I can run pain free. Thank you, Altra.

First off I purchased this product because I do a lot of walking at work climbing up ladders etc so my main requirements are comfort and traction. The wide toe box and even sole make these sneakers very comfortable and stable my feet never feel like they are dipping or turning when walking and the deep grooves and knobs on the bottom of the sole provide added traction. These sneakers are also very breathable with lightweight fabric and they are light. So based on my usage I think they are near perfect.

I’ve had these shoe for two weeks and 15ish miles. It took about 4miles to really conform to my instep. Light and excellent grip over sandstone/granite/rocks with superb confidence. Water will enter the top but should be remedied with a good water proofing.

My son wore his first pair of Altra until he grew out of them. Which is saying a lot, since he is very hard on shoes. The tread is deeper and more non stick than most sneakers, but the shoe is still very light weight. Purchasing another pair was a no brainer when he needed new ones.
