I wrote a super long review below and then wondered, what if no one reads much beyond here? So let me summarize real quick. QIDI TECH Q2 is a amazing printer. Incredible features and capabilities for a printer at this price. Frankly no other printer comes close to doing what this can at this price point. Nearly impossibe to identify a single “limitation” of this printer. It can do just about everything you want a 3D printer to and does it at a fraction of the cost opf other printers and with exceptional quality. Want to know more why I think so? Read below, you won't be disappointed. Now the details…. I originally purchased my first 3D printer, a QIDI TECH Q1 Pro in May of 2024. I was a total beginner and knew nothing about 3D printing but in my search for solid beginner machines that were also capable of expert-level production (ie use of engineering style filaments, heated chambers, hardened nozzles, enclosed printers etc) I found review after review of the Q1 Pro from very reputable engineers, makers and 3d printing experts who have used them all from every brand. Despite the sense that the consumer market is dominated by Bambu Lab printers, those models which had the features and capabilities I wanted were simply out of my price range. Features I did not know how to use at first but which I was sure I would later value and require for what I wanted to do. I was buying the Q1 Pro because I knew it would be “all” the printer I'd ever need. In short, THAT printer has exceeded every one of my expectations. It worked flawlessly from the start, was easy to use, intuitive even for a total beginner and produced super high quality, consistent results with every filament I threw at it. And those few times when I did have a a rare issue (usually user error or misunderstanding) I was consistently impressed with the care and support I received from QIDI TECH Customer Support. (Way to go Charlotte!) Every one of my issues was satisfactorily resolved or addressed.(Heck,I know the name of my favorite tech support agent!) But wait, this isn't a review of the Q1 Pro, this is a review QIDI TECH's new Q2 printer. But the reason my experience with the Q1 Pro is relevant is because it was so good; only a printer that was BETTER (both technically and from a cost perspective) could catch my attention. Enter the QIDI TECH Q2. As stated above I'm barely above a novice at 3D printing and about equally new to CAD design but if it wasn't for my fantastic experience with QIDI TECH and their Q1 Pro, I would have probably given up by now, but it's just too much fun, too easy to learn and grow and evolve and too enticing to expand my skills and ablities. In the 18 months or so that i've been 3D printing I have learned many, although not all, of the various naunces of 3D printer design and functionality; the benefits of various features; and the frequency with which I expect to make use of them. I've become a real 3D printing nerd so when the new Q2 debuted I at first wondered what could it offer me that I don't already have in my existing Q1 Pro? Well let’s see: a beautiful aesthetic design first of all, professional high-end level look and materials, tinted glass door and windows (yes viewing windows in addition to a front door!) , a metallized polymer housing etc which just looks the part; this thing is beautiful! But beneath that fancy exterior lives a real powerhouse of practical functionality for just about every 3D printing task you can think of. Everywhere the Q1 Pro shined, this Q2 shines even brighter. Larger build volume within essentially smaller outside dimensions (turns out size does matter, and you’ll always want more!), higher precision Core XY movement (this leads to greater accuracy and repeatability of prints) with the judicious use of linear rails where it makes sense and a finer tooth belt design. A higher range of chamber heating and print bed heating to reduce warping of warp-prone filaments and to ensure proper layer adhesion and therefore ultimate strength of your printed parts. A higher maximum nozzle temperature to allow you to print with frankly all but the the most ultra exotic filaments (and I mean super rare and ultra exotic, which frankly are cost prohibitive for most doing this as a hobby anyway) There is basically no filament commonly available that you can not print PROPERLY with this printer. Glass fiber and carbon fiber reinforced filaments, (harded steel nozzle is key here to avoid premature wear from those abrasive filaments) PC, PETG, PLA, PPA, PA6 and PA12 nylons, ABS, ASA etc. I don't even know all the filaments but I haven't come across one that this can't print and print exceptionally well. My very first print out of the box was flawless. I didn't even bother with a test print; I uploaded a 6 hour print and went to bed. PERFECTION the next morning. The user interface on the printer itself (nevermind the easy to learn software side driving it from the computer) that I thought was perfectly adequate on the Q1 Pro has been upgraded with a better, more responsive and intuitive LCD screen. Calibration, troubleshooting, loading and unloading of filaments and tuning all made easier…and what about tuning? The Q1 Pro had automatic bed leveling (no turning the screws 1/4 turn here and 1/4 turn there to get a slip of paper to have just this much resistance etc)…No the Q1 Pro did it for you and with incredible accuracy…but apparently it COULD be even more accurate and that is what the Q2 has! A more sensitive probe using the nozzle itself and not an adjacent sensor as the proximity point at least as far as I understand it. It is literally tuning itself with the very nozzle that's doing the printing to the fraction of a fraction of a millimeter. That means perfect first layer prints without adjusting Z-offset because it's dynamically adjusting itself before every print. I’d call it magic. I'm running out of positive words to use to describe my experience with this new Q2 printer, my former Q1Pro Printer, and QIDI TECH in general. There are so many little improvements and advancements and “nice-to-haves” on this Q2 that I can’t list them. And boy do I wish I could keep both the Q1 Pro and Q2. But sadly, I do not have room for a second printer so when I knew I HAD to buy the Q2 (all those features for essentially the same price I paid for the Q1 Pro?! Are you kidding me?) I purchased it first, and only THEN went to find someone to buy my perfectly functional, still super accurate, and fully-kitted-out-with-extras, Q1 Pro. (my investment in extra build plates, nozzles of every size, etc. etc. is just another testament to how certain I was that I'd keep the Q1 Pro forever) A friend who has never printed before was interested and I was glad to make it his without a moment of hesitation because I knew he would find the Q1 Pro as perfect, as capable, as easy and intuitive and as reliable as I did (just wait until he wants a Q2 now! (Sssh! don't tell him about the Q2! You must crawl, walk, and then run, grasshopper!) Look, I didn't have to write this review and certainly didn't have to write one this long, but once I started I couldn’t stop. I could have said “amazing printer, buy it!” and it would have been just as true. But If I can convince just one person to try out 3D printing and to do so using any one of the incredibly capable yet affordable QIDI TECH printers (Q1 Pro and Q2 I think are the BEST choices all around), it will be worth it. It has been an amazing experience for me to learn, grow and build, and i'd like someone else to realize just how easy it can be for them too.

As someone who owns a wide range of 3D printers for professional prototyping, I can confidently say the Qidi Q2 offers the best out-of-the-box experience I’ve had—especially compared to my previous Qidi machines, including the impressive Q1 Pro. With the Q2, Qidi has truly elevated their ‘Q’ line to a whole new level. Unboxing & Setup: Setup was a breeze. The user manual is the first thing you see when opening the box—clear, concise, and easy to follow. Every component is neatly labeled and securely taped, including the USB flash drive. From unboxing to powering on took less than 20 minutes. The only mildly time-consuming step was removing the four screws securing the heat bed for shipping. Installing the screen and spool holder required no tools—just snap them in place. First Impressions & Performance: Once powered on, the Q2 runs a self-check and auto-calibration. After that, you're ready to load filament and print one of the preloaded test models. I’ve tested Qidi Rapido PLA, PETG, PETG-CF, and ABS, and the results have been outstanding. The built-in heater makes ABS printing virtually warp-free, and the air filter significantly reduces odors—great for those sensitive to ABS fumes like I am. Compared to the Q1 Pro, the Q2 is noticeably quieter, and the touchscreen is far more responsive. Sending prints via QidiStudio is quick and seamless. Minor details: If you plan to print with brittle materials like Nylon CF, you may want to remove the lid (which could affect chamber temps) or print a riser to reduce the bend angle of the PTFE tube. Qidi even provides printable riser files on their Wiki. For most filaments, though, this isn’t necessary. Finally, no 3D printer is perfect, but the Qidi Q2 comes impressively close. It’s quiet, well-built, and delivers exceptional print quality—without demanding deep technical know-how. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned maker, this machine is built to grow with you. QIDI has really knocked it out of the park with the Q2. QIDI has definitely found their niche at creating extremely high-quality enclosed printers at a consumer-friendly price. It’s really hard to beat the price for quality that you get with the Q2. Setup was a breeze, from box to first benchmark print took less than an hour, including auto-leveling, input shaping, and print time. Just plug it in, follow the setup and it works. Printed a handful of things out of PLA/PETG so far and it’s worked like a charm. Haven’t had a chance to experiment with TPU/ABS yet but those are next on my list. The enclosure build quality is superb, competitive with much-higher price point printers and provides a notable upgrade from QIDI’s Q1. The aluminum exterior is sleek and sturdy while keeping the whole printer lightweight. The glass doors and windows are a welcome upgrade from the plastic on the Q1 and gives the whole printer a more elegant look. The silicone nozzle cleaner and built-in fan filters fix two of the main issues people would run into with the Q1, and prevents the need for aftermarket mods to provide air filtration. The filament chute lets you set up a much larger collection system for excess filament and not need to worry about cleaning near as often. The print bed is on the larger size especially for a printer this size, they really did a great job utilizing the space of the enclosure. The Q2 is noticeably smaller than my Q1’s but still manages to have about a 30% bigger build volume, which is great for those bigger prints and not needing to split things up quite as much. The HD screen is a nice touch even though I tend to mostly control the printer through Qidi Studio. So far the printer firmware and software has been stellar. The automated bed leveling solves one of the biggest pain points with 3D printers and it’s only gotten better with the Q2. So far haven’t really had any issues with any of the prints. Most print quality issues come down to needing to tweak the slicer settings to meet your needs, although the Q2 definitely does seem more reliable on some of the trickier prints (especially those with overhangs). It has quickly become my goto printer for any of those more complicated prints as it performs better and more consistently than any of my other printers. With the QIDI box coming out soon, filament switching would really take this printer to the next level. All-in-all, another great product from QIDI and a very competitive entry onto the 3D printer market. Has a lot of what you see or expect from more expensive printers with a lower price tag. Love to see QIDI pushing the boundaries and delivering solid products. Definitely going to be my new workhorse for the majority of my prints.

Update 4-26 I've now used the Q2 for about 2 months and there have been a couple issues. However, Allen with Qidi customer service is awesome, and has sent replacement parts without any hassle. The first issue I had was a nozzle temp heater warning, the error stated the nozzle was not heating properly. I added some thermal grease that came with the printer, but had the same failure again printing PETG both times. I contacted Qidi and they responded same day (4am in the US, daytime for China) and just asked for the .3mf file I was printing and my Address (I had previously sent a screen shot of my Amazon order for proof of purchase and also the printer run time before they asked for it) I just recieved the hotend today. The old hotend had continued to work for several hours of printing without issue, but last night I noticed the nozzel was loose after loosing my mind trying to get some PA12-CF15 to stick, that's a whole other storey, so I've replaced that. The second issue arose when I was attempting to use the chamber heater for the first time. The fan kicks on, but then goes off after a few seconds to a minute and gives a warning of heater fan speed incorrect. Qidi had me check the plugs on the motherboard, they were fine. I sent a video of the fan coming off and then the error message and Allan responded and said they have sent me a new chamber heater fan, and also provided links for the installation instructions. Qidi customer service, 6 stars. The Q2 itself, 4.5 at best. It's ok. You need to print a riser for the glass top, except it to take at least half a kilo of filament depending on what riser model you print. And the ptfe tube coming into the print head rubs the side of the cover. I printed an adapter to avoid this. Without the riser the ptfe tube also scrapes the screws holding the handle to the glass top. So there are a few engineering failures with the Q2, but they can be fix with printed parts. I also recommend printing a hanging "poop" bucket for the discharge waste filament. For the price it's a solid printer, but I'll probably upgrade in the future to a muti toolhead model eventually. Original review 2-2026; I had this printer about a week, I've used it every day. It would get 5 stars, but the AI spaghetti detection doesn't perform as it should. For example, I set up a 5 hour print before bed. I watched it as it laid down the first few layers to ensure everything was set up correctly and sticking to the bed properly. Everything was running well, so I went to bed. In the morning I found the printer had stopped about an hour in due to AI Spaghetti detection, however there were no issues. I restarted the print, but it did not start where it had left off, so there were 2 lines not laid down. It was in an infill spot so I just restarted and hoped for the best. The AI spaghetti detector has stopped the machine twice when there were no issues. Other than that it's a good printer. The QIDI slicer is just the same as all the others, so software wise there's nothing special. I do think the filament print speeds are set way too high, but that's software. All in all, it's a good printer with a lot of good features that you don't find in many, or any, printers at this price point. The fact I can print engineering filaments and only needed to upgrade the nozzel was nice. I ordered a tungsten carbide .6mm nozzle from Qidi tech. A bit pricey at about $48 but necessary to print carbon fiber filaments. If you need a heated bed and chamber with a high temp hotend, this printer is a good deal. The air filter is a nice feature, but not even used if you are printing lower temp filaments since the top lid must remain open during printing. But with the TPU, PLA and the like, I don't notice any fumes or smells. Now, research the Qidi box before you buy that. I opted not to purchase the AMS, Qidi box, due to the negative reviews.

I am (or was?) a huge Qidi fan. I have 2 X-Plus 3s, and one X-Max 3 and I love them. I decided to add another printer, and going with another Qidi was a no-brainer, so I picked up the Q2. This is the worst printer I've owned, save for maybe (*maybe*) the Ender 3 S1. The firmware is terrible and half-baked. The UI is a horror show and some of it is in English, and some in Mandarin and there's limited functions exposed through the GUI as compared to the X3 series. The network connectivity is absolute garbage. It stays connected for a few minutes, if you're lucky, then disconnects - so good luck monitoring prints. It periodically won't wake up, no matter how much you tap on the screen. The newest firmware (which you will thankfully not be able to download due to the network connectivity issue) actually makes things *worse*. For example, because the PTFE filament tube is smushed under the glass lid, the angle filament is at as it enters the tool head prevents it from loading. The original firmware "solved" this by doing a L shaped move pattern, which jostled the filament enough to slide into the tool head. So, what do they do in the latest firmware? Remove the movement in the "load" macro, so filament won't load unless you take the lid off and straighten the PTFE tube manually. And, to make everything worse, the auto "leveling" is a joke. Which wouldn't be a problem if you could adjust the Z offset.. but, alas.. they don't expose that via the UI.. at least not in a logical way. Like, you can adjust it during a print - after you've discovered that their 'auto level' didn't work and it destroyed your first layer, but there doesn't appear to be a way to adjust it PRIOR to a print Oh, and did I mention that it takes 12 minutes for the system to prepare itself to print? 12 minutes. Not a big deal on a 10 hour print, but definitely a big deal if you're printing a 15 minute bracket or something. And now that a certain huge-named 3d printer company is offering a $220 coupon on the Q2's direct competitor, making the Q2 $100 more expensive than a finely tuned and polished machine (and only $50 more if you get the combo with the color changer), makes the Q2 a silly choice. Even for me, who loved Qidi up until the Q2. Unless Qidi reaches out and offers to somehow miraculously solve all of the ridiculousness I've experienced with this printer, it's going back and I'll be taking advantage of the $220 coupon, even though I hate the idea of a closed source system. So, in closing, unless Qidi fixes basically everything on this printer, don't waste your money. There are WAY better options out there than the Q2 for the same price or less. It's unfortunate, especially after how good the X3 series was. If Qidi reaches out, or if my experience somehow takes a 180, I'll update this review. But, if there are no updates, assume I boxed this thing up and sent it back. [Update #1 - ~24hrs later] So, I wound up buying their competitor's printer this morning and I don't have to bribe it to load filament, so that's nice. I'm still debating what to do with the Q2 long term, but in the interim I decided to look through the gcode to decide whether or not to bother writing my own macro for the filament load and made some hilarious findings. Multiple macros call macros that don't exist, either because they simply don't exist, or because they're calling the macro by the wrong name. eg: they have a 'shake_ooze' macro that's intended to clear the filament oozing out of the nozzle as part of their 'extrusion_and_flush' macro. however, they're referencing 'clear_ooze' - so obviously that doesn't actually work. and then immediately following 'clear_ooze' is 'clear_flush', which simply doesn't exist at all. this is a slight problem, because 'extrusion_and_flush' is called at the beginning of every print.. and two of the major steps to clean the nozzle in preparation for a print just..... don't happen. given that it already takes 12 minutes to start a print, I can't imagine how much longer it would take if they were actually referencing macros that did exist. what's funny, though, is that someone else (probably) wrote the 'filament unlode'(sp) macro and decided to write their own "shake_ooze" function on the fly without bothering to look at existing macros to see that one already existed. granted - the routine in the filament unload macro works better, but, still. Anyway, none of this is surprising and it kind of encapsulates the overall 'fit and finish' of the machine. It feels a lot like I'm beta testing this thing for them.. and I paid full retail price for the opportunity. [(final?) Update #2 - ~5 days later] No word from anyone at Qidi. I wound up buying a second P1S combo last night and UPS is picking up the Q2 tomorrow and bringing it back to Amazon. At $550, the P1S combo is so far beyond the Q2 that it's not even funny. And like I mentioned, when I picked up the Q2 I was a Qidi fanboy but man, did they screw up this printer compared to the X3 series. As far as my X-Plus 3's and X-Max 3, I'll be running those until they die and replacing them with whatever Bambu has at that time that would make for a good replacement. Though, I'm already considering pulling the trigger on the H2D due to the current sale price. Anyway - my advice to basically everyone, but especially those just getting into 3D printing - avoid the Q2 and get a P1S while they're still on sale. They're $399 for the non-combo, and $549 with the AMS. They're a much, MUCH better printer and ecosystem. You can browse Makerworld on your phone, click 'Print' and the printer takes care of the rest. And, with many prints, the P1S will be done printing before the Q2 has finished it's absurdly long preflight.. unless your printer was miraculously able to download the most recent, janky firmware. In which case, it won't execute it's wipe function and there'll be a big chunk of filament stuck to the nozzle, which will screw up it's "auto" level, and you'll have to manually intervene.

I received the Qidi Q2 with the Qidi Box in Novemeber 2025, and have since put ~1600 hours of print time on it. It is an incredible printer for the price, and has the technical chops to print some serious engineering materials. I've done a handful of mods, but at heart I am a tinkerer so part of my enjoyment of the printer is with modifications and such. Make no mistake, however. The Q2 is great out of the box, it looks sleek and modern and comes fully assembled. Why am I writing this review now, you might ask? Well, about a month ago, I had a problem with the printer where I kept getting MCU errors and could not print. I reached out to Qidi's customer support, with relatively low expectations as my experience with Asian companies and support have not been great in the past. Well, the experience ended up being great, and I wanted to leave a positive review to show appreciation to the team. I was helped by Charlie, from the Q2 support team. Communication is not instant, obviously due to the time difference between North America and Asia, but I consistently got replies within 24 hours which is better than I would expect. After running through a few troubleshooting steps, it was determined that the AP board of the printer was defective and needed to be replaced. Charlie procured a new AP board to be sent to me via FedEx and sent a video and written guide for how to complete the AP replacement. The replacement was relatively simple, a few screws and unplugging/reconnecting the wires. The AP board is located within the print chamber so was very easy to access. After completing the replacement and following the instructions to update the board, all was up and running again! A couple of weeks later, Charlie even sent a follow up email to ensure that my issue was resolved and the printer was working again. After the support experience I had, I would not hesitate to purchase another Qidi printer when I'm ready to upgrade from the Q2. I would highly recommend Qidi printers - at least from my experience, they stand behind their products fully and will honor their warranty!

I am loving this printer. Qidi has fixed virtually every complaint I could have had with the Q1 Pro in the Q2. Glass lid and door instead of plastic. The door has a handle, the lid has a handle. The lid is in a channel! You push it back when you want ventilation instead of having to take it off and find somewhere to put it. The waste container is non-existent, but that's fine because you can print one! Qidi has gone a different direction here and the waste filament is dropped into a shoot that leads to the back of the machine, so you only need to put something there to collect it, and Qidi has a file for a container to put there on their website. Timelapse videos have worked flawlessly, which is nice because I never did figure out how to set them up on the Q1. This one just works. I LOVE that there are windows on the sides - these are plastic, not glass - so you can see how your print is going from different angles. The chamber lights in the Q2 do not stretch across the entire front of the chamber, and they don't need to! The way they are set up, there is no issue with glare on the chamber camera. There is a built-in filter box and an extrusion on the back of the printer to attach a duct for venting exhaust of VOC-gassing filaments, like ABS, outside. Essentially, everything I added or printed to improve the Q1? The Q2 already has. It also has a narrower footprint, and no weird bulges when you are trying to lift and move it, which is awesome. I love the look of the Q1, but it was hard to move with my short arms and little hands! The Q2 is far more manageable. Straight lines. Metal case. It's beautiful. The chamber appears to be sealed off from the electronics, which is also a big improvement. I'm not worried about something overheating when printing ABS or something that requires higher temperatures. I'm very happy with the print speed and will probably be buying some more Qidi Rapido filament just because I love how you can just load it, set the filament in Qidi Studio, and go! Oh! And IT HAS A CUTTER! Which means not only is it less of a PITA when changing filaments, but it is compatible with the Qidi Box filament management system, which will make multicolor prints SO much easier. I am in love with this thing. Platonically.
