I’m changing my review on this product and for the reason that the seller went out of their way to make sure I was happy. This product didn’t work. The seller saw my review and contacted me through amazon. The seller believes the product was damaged during transit. So the seller not only replaced it, but upgraded me to another version just to make sure I was happy. I received the product and it works like it should and tells me the amperage and voltage of the battery I’m working on. It shows the amperage going down which shows me the battery is being charged to full capacity. I highly recommend the PZP yellow charger for 12volt marine batteries. I am a frequent traveler and have to travel a long distances. and this battery charger had made my life a lot easier. This battery charger is very useful during cold weather to start the engine. This charger is very useful to charge my car battery. This unit is small-sized, light-weight, easy to carry, and works quite well. This is very easy to operate and handle. This charger is very useful to charge all types of batteries and is compatible with multiple vehicles or devices. It can be used to charge from motorcycle to boat. It will charge up to 10 amps and up to 16 volts. This charger charges from 3-500AH batteries This charger can be used to charge even dead batteries which is very good. We can manually set the charging voltage and current as per our needs and requirement. This charger will automatically maintain the battery at 100% status after being fully charged without overcharging. There's also a repair mode that will automatically repair and reverse battery damage, improve battery health and extend battery life. There is a cable storage area that is useful to keep the cables safe., without making them messy. UPDATE: the company reached out to me after my initial review. the sent me a replacement. i updated my review because when this charger works it is great the review would have been higher if it didn't take a poor review to get their attention, I tried to reach out to them before I left the review as seen below. Hope this is the last update I have on this charger. I have it hooked up to a low battery now. received this to charge a battery, worked great for that battery. I didn't need it for about 7 months. hooked it up to the dead battery same as instructions say to do it. lights and gauge flickered and then it stopped working. reached out to the manufacture thru their website to see if they offer any type of warranty on their product. well that was a month ago and still no reply from them. I did purchase another charger as I need a charged battery and this time I spent 1/4 the amount and got my battery charged. ... show more

    • What a great little charger!
I gave this five stars because it has basically been my power supply / charger for my (usually) 23’ off grid camper. That’s hard use and it’s been doing it over a month now and doing it well. Once fall arrived with shortening sun hours and many cloudy days in a row my solar and batteries started struggling to keep up. I needed just enough extra power to keep the furnace running 24/7 without dragging down the batteries. It consumes very little power. I measured 1.94A at 120V (232W) while it was charging 14.9V at 9.4A (132W) for about 60% efficiency. Both the amps and the volts are adjustable with rotary knobs. This is convenient for many applications. If you were just holding a battery over winter, for example, you probably wouldn’t want to charge it to 13.8 volts, you’d just want to maintain the 12.8V full charge at say, 1A. This unit can do that! In my case, with the furnace or other items are consuming power, I want to charge at 13.2 or 13.4. If it’s cloudy I could charge at/to 14.4 to 14.6 and get some absorption charge (granted I get great solar charging on sunny days, so I don’t need a big battery charger. However, FYI 10A is too small to charge 300Ah or 600Ah of batteries. That’s not what this is made to do.) Right now it is set to 13.2V and 10A. As the battery reaches the set voltage the amps automatically reduce. The unit is displaying 13.2V and 1.2A and the fan speed is reduced. And yes, the fan is variable speed. If the unit is inactive because the battery has reached the set voltage the fan is stopped and the amps are zero. As the battery voltage declines, due to load or self discharge, the amps begin to rise and the fan begins to run. Turn the volts all the way up and the fan will go to max speed. The charger never has gotten hot, and the fan output has never felt warm. While the alligator clips and their wires also stay cool, I do have a complaint with the wire size- very thin and likely to be damaged. A 10ga wire would be a great improvement. Or at least something thicker and more flexible. Yes I’m using it for an unintended purpose but it’s been great. It’s living up to its price point. Great little charger! PS: all the poor reviews because people don’t know how to charge a battery? Pretty foolish to leave a bad review when the product is fine and the reviewers don’t know what they are doing. Total complete junk, it is 100% is Non-functional. The power switch will illuminate when selected on the voltage digital display will raise and lower with the adjustment knob, and a fan will turn on "as if it's doing something" HOWEVER THE AMMETER KNOB & AMP meter display remains at 0.00 even when the knob is set to 15 AMP. This charger is so tiny! It almost feels strange and criminal that it can do what it can actually do. I needed a charger for an electric scooter which uses two 12V batteries in series. I wanted to be able to charge either both batteries together at 24V but with the option to charge each battery individually if I needed to do so. To make things even more complicated, I could be faced with 7, 9, 10, 12 and 15Ah capacities! That means that for optimal charging and battery life, I would want to be charging from 0.7 to 1.5A, respectively for all of those different battery options. I couldn't find another charger that could give me all of those exact options! The fact that this charger was only about $20-30 more than the "fast charger" that is standard for this scooter, it was a literal no-brainer. Also, reading some of these Amazon reviews where the charger was "not working," some of them may have been simple problems, like the Amp setting being set to zero when starting the charging process, or having both clamps connected too early, or by simply not using the recommended value of 14V+ for charging a 12V battery. (...try 14.3 or 14.4V) THIS CHARGER ROCKS Edit: Now that I've been using this charger for a while, it's even more impressive now. I had a 12V 10Ah battery that I'd completely left for dead; nothing I threw at it would do anything to the battery. I decided to connect it to this charger, and set it to 17.5V @ 2.5A and in less than a minute, the battery started to take a charge! Very impressive. I was looking for a battery charger that had manual control features. I didn't want a battery charger that was totally "Automatic", that just went along and did its own thing. First, let's get a few observations over with: Yes, the AC cord and the cables to the battery are short in length. I can live with that. This charger IS about the size of a PC Power Supply, and its electronics are probably somewhat similar. No problem with that. And is probably why the cables are shorter, there's not much charger to wrap the cables around! And yes, you need to turn the current control up a bit from 0, or else nothing will happen. It is doing what you ask. If you leave it set at "0", you're going to get "0" current out of it. Makes sense. Yes, it has an internal cooling fan that changes speed to match the power delivered. I did not find it objectionable, and lets me know its running when it's out of sight. How it works can be simplified in understanding, if you mentally re-label the "Voltage" control to "Ending Battery Charge Voltage". It gets set to the ending voltage of charging, what it will read when the battery is fully charged. And re-label "Ammeter" to "Charging Current Limit". With AC power "ON", once you set the "Ending Voltage" to what you want (with battery leads disconnected), you then connect to battery. Then set the "Charging Current Limit" to the maximum current you want to allow. So now its charging. As the actual battery voltage rises under charging, the actual charging current will drop from the current limit value you set. Having read the reviews of some other chargers that reset parameters in case of AC power interruption, I tested this one by pulling the AC plug, waiting, and re-connecting it. It continued on with the settings I had chosen, as they are dial controls you turn, and are inherently physical memory. Good. If AC power is lost while you are charging, then the charger goes into Voltmeter Mode, and draws a small amount of current from your battery to run the voltmeter and display. I guess if it was in this condition for a long long time, it might eventually run down your battery. I assume they have some disconnect voltage built-in, but did not check that, as I wasn't concerned about it. I really like it, I use it for car, trucks, and tractor batteries. If you will be an infrequent user of this charger, you may want to write some simple instructions on a card, and keep it with the charger, so you can get going with it without having to do much thinking. ... show more
