Wonderful speaker and great for fitness classes that dont have their own speaker system
This is an awesome speaker and so worth the money. The only thing I wish was that it had wheels on the bottom for easy transport. I am a fitness instructor and will have to haul this in and out of my classes. Its not terribly heavy though. Great sound that is adjustable. There is a guitar and mic hookup and controls. Bass and Treble sound controls. To connect to blue tooth you have to use the remote and press "mode" and keep pressing mode until the top says "blue" then find "Plye Speaker" on your iPod or device or you can plug in the adapter. There was no instructions on that and I wouldn't have know how to do that without reading other reviews. The lights on the speaker are as shown and looks great. This plugs into the wall and you have to press the on button on the back of the speaker. There is no mic included that is separate. There is no humming or buzzing sounds in the back ground. It works great for backyard parties and for Zumba classes. It is super loud. I use it for classes in a church fellowship hall that sits around 50 people. Even then I dont have it turned up all the way since it will be too loud. ... show more

Best party speaker for the money.
Compared to two party speakers from a competitor that rhymes with sock-fill. Tried two of the other companies speakers and this speaker has better sound. Much more control over the sound you prefer due to bass and treble knobs AND a 7-band equalizer! It's louder/more powerful and sounds much better - especially once you dial it in for your preferences. I bought this to be a permanent music solution for my back patio (outside, so I wanted inexpensive so I don't need to bring it inside at night). The ONLY thing the competitor does better is the party lights (not that important because I keep them turned off 98% of the time as it sits behind me). As far as the sound and power go, this speaker beats the competitor hands down. I would give it 4.5 stars if it remembered last input and stayed set to Bluetooth when you turn it off and back on. That would be my recommendation to Pyle. Last input memory and better/less annoying party lights. I love the LED halo circles around the woofers on the competitor instead of bright flashing LED lights on a panel and in center of tweeters. Two improvements and this would be outstanding. I can't speak to battery life, because it will spend 99.99% of its life plugged in to power. I appreciate the weight - twice as heavy as the competitor - as it seems a higher quality construction and probably a better amplifier. It is large, larger than the two others I tried, but the size works for me. Not as easily portable as the others, but that's not at all what I was looking for, and if I do want to take it somewhere it is easy enough, just a little larger and heavier than the other two. Functionality is great, very intuitive. Had it set up in 10 minutes. Again, only frustration is having to set input to Bluetooth every time I turn it on. ... show more

Excellent sound for a reasonable price
Very nice unit. I don't know much àbout sound quality, but they sound incredible to me. Much heavier and more durable than other similar speakers.

Disappointed right out of the box
This was my second Pyle Karaoke machine product. My previous version lasted 5 years. Unfortunately this one failed within 15 minutes of setting it up. I set it up to run it for a systems check. I bluetoothed my ipad with karaoke app and played some music first. Had a decent sound and volume and lights worked. Then I hooked up a microphone and started singing along. I then pushed the EQ button and adjusted the slider controls for the EQ settings. It squealed really loud, made a popping noise. Then the microphone volume was extremely low, even with the mic volume on full. You could then press the EQ button on or off and there was no noticeable difference like before. I swapped out microphones and tried mic port 1 and port 2 and no difference. Also the small tweeters rattled the entire time. I'm sad to say it appears the quality of Pyle products has gone down hill. This will be my last Pyle product purchase. This is the only one of two 1-star reviews I have ever given. I normally am very satisfied with my Amazon purchases. I'm not willing to give it another chance and order an exchange. Instead I ordered a karaoke machine from Sony. Twice the price, but a known brand name with great reviews. ... show more
