I couldn't decide between the Sonos Arc, Bose 900, Ambeo Plus & JBL 1300x. Needless to say I am extremely pleased with the JBL for my specific needs. The JBL has terrific surround sound capabilities when watching 4K UHD movies & is extremely great when streaming Hifi or Bluetooth music. Setup was a breeze when following the included instructions but I had a little difficulty connecting to WiFi through the JBL app which was quickly solved by calling customer service. The only downside to this soundbar is the Massive subwoofer (sounds awsome but jbl needs to improve the design like bose & sonos) and the removable speakers which could be a little louder when detached for more of a balanced immersive sound, but they are more than suitable with proper placement & room calibration... ... show more

The subwoofer is definitely a step-up and dare i say almost to home theater level (comparing my pc2000 svs). The 12inch defintely moves more air than the 10inch. It’s a really good subwoofer. 4k and blu-ray discs get very, very loud. For streaming, since everything is compressed, it requires volume to be turned up more. More movies below that I tested. A quiet place 2 - amazing bass hits! Atmos is great. Live die repeat: edge of tomorrow - phenomenal, bass as well. Incredibles 2 - sounds like a baby is literally floating in my room in one scene. Rest of the movie is great. Annabelle: creation - best horror atmos i’ve ever heard on a soundbar. Saving private ryan - the intro is a complete warzone on this system. Jurassic park - TREX MONSTROSITY HOLY F***. Blair witch (2016) - incredible atmos. the conjuring 2 - great atmos and bass. The equalizer is great - bumping up mids and treble help with the detail and dialogue (not that dialogue was an issue to begin with). App control is decent. Gives you a remote option to control the remote features, has an equalizer, tells you what audio is playing (atmos, dtsx, etc) surround volume control, and miscellaneous things. Purevoice on vs off didn’t do much for me but i notice a slight bump in voice volume with it on, but not to the extent you would think it would be. Either way it doesn’t take away anything with having it on. Cons: DTSX shows as DTSX Neural X. Not sure why JBL decided to upmix DTSX audio when DTSX already uses height channels. hopefully it will get fixed. Side note: JBL 9.1 was able to turn off the upmixing by holding atmos button on remote for 10 secs - this doesnt work for the jbl 1300x. My virtual remote suddenly stop showing up in the app, and I also can’t adjust the equalizer anymore. Hopefully a fix will occur. This soundbar is the best competition out there imo. ... show more

After I finally got it set up it works & sounds great. The instructions were so small that I needed magnification just to read them. Poorly written and incomplete. Took a call to JBL to finish connectivity. For something this expensive I would expect the remote & the bar to have equalizer functions. But, NO. Had to run all HDMI cables to TV & Optical out from TV to the bar. Not shown in instructions. NOW that it is set up right I am very happy with it. Max volume could be higher. ... show more

We got this soundbar just a few days ago. After opening it and connecting, we found that the sound is rich and bass is incredible. But after closer look when excitement passed we found that it came with small dents on the front speaker. We left the next day for a long vacation and did not have time to return it and have all this return hassle. Anyway, happy but not 100%. ... show more

The sound is GREAT... the Price was Great... Everythng was Great. The detachable wireless speakers sound really good and they are truely wireless, no power cord. I even had to set them to Medium, high was a little too loud. I highly recommend this Soundbar... The app is well programed... not a lot of features but you can make adjustments if needed... So I researched different sound bars far and wide, and I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile person, lol. I am so impressed with this system. I went and checked out so many different sound bars, but I’m not going to lie, the key for me was the wireless speakers! Look at the picture, you see no wires anywhere, and the surround sound is incredible….. Most of the reviews on this item received very high marks, and the only cons about it were the battery powered speakers did not last that long. They said only up to six hours, and who really spends six hours, watching TV! Not me…… I have had no issues with the wireless speakers losing power and I guarantee you I’ve watched movies and TV up to about 3 1/2 or four hours. I am totally satisfied with this product and I give it A+++++ or five out of five stars! Or, whatever your rating system might be, lol. ... show more

Such a disappointment with all the connection issues. This is my second 1300X. The first one I had replaced as soon as i realized connecting the Fire stick to the HDMI 1 IN and run the out from ARC to my projector never work. I thought it was defective. Support was great to replace it with a new one. Same issue. BT connects but the connection drops if you pause or put on mute longer than 5 min. Im retuning and getting the JBL 9.1. I never had issues with that model. ... show more

I was expecting much more. Very disappointed. When turning on, the soundbar fights over Fire TV and Apple TV, this shouldn’t be. I have zero control of different surround sound options. I turn off the devise yet it is still active in the background and have to turn the volume down on the sound bar. I was expecting much more sound and bass.
