After installing my Bose 900 I had some weird problems. Got in touch with the Bose tech on Facebook messenger and they offered some various settings but really did not help the situation. I would cut on my LG TV and then turn on the speaker and it would cut the TV right back off again. Also, I have my XBOX connected to my TV and the sound was coming through just 2.0 and not 5.1 as it should. I would stream Amazon Video through my smart TV and not all the sound was 5.1 on that app as well. So neither I nor Bose could figure out what the problem was. My Bose is connected to my TV via e-arc HDMI so I should have been getting the maximum sound quality available. So as a last ditch effort I decided to change out the HDMI wire. I was using MONSTER CABLE since it's supposed to be a top of the line HDMI wire. Right? I exchanged that for the HDMI cable supplied with the Bose shipment. Viola! That was the problem all along. A faulty HDMI cable. Now it works as it should. Everything is 5.1 now. And I have the C.E.C set so that when I turn off the speaker it turns off the TV as well. This Bose sounds amazing. Depending on the source of the sound as in a movie or TV show it gives Dolby Atmos. I was pleasantly surprised when I was streaming the movie CLASH OF THE TITANS. I mean the surround sound was everywhere coming at me from both sides and even above my head. The scene where Perseus was walking through a cave and stuff started falling from the roof of the cave sounded like it was coming from my living room ceiling. LOL. So anyway I texted Bose again and told them I found the root of the problem and they were very happy for me and thanked me for telling them the solution to my problem. I had read other reviews on Amazon and they told of having similar problems so the answer just might be a faulty HDMI cable. Even though they may have a thick coating they have very fine wire inside and can still get damaged. Even though it's a bit pricey they are about two hundred dollars cheaper on Amazon which is why I ordered it. ... show more

Since I bought this device in 2023 it has been a nightmare! It works sometimes and sometimes it does not work!! I had a nose teck help me set it up and it work then it stops! It disconnects from my TV!!! TV is a 85 inch samsung bought it about the same time I bought this bose speaker! The sound is great but it does not want to connect! I have tryed very port I checked the wire! Its driving me crazy I should have send it back when I first encountered the problem!! I disconnected the power on and off I disconnected the hdmi! I have spent almost all day trying to figure out this device!! How do I get my money back!! Well I have to say what ever was wrong with it!! BOSE FIXED IT WITH NO CHARGE!! I REGRET THE THING I SAID IT IS A EXCELLNT SPEAKER SYSTEM I WILL BUY AGAIN!! I PAAIRED IT TO MY TV WITH BLUETOOTH AND ITS AWSOME! ... show more

Very nervous about this purchase since my last Bose had to be returned. So here’s my evaluation…Sound incredible, music outstanding. Television sound outstanding. Hookup a little of a challenge. This is what I did. Installed soundbar with HDMI ARC. I then reset my new 83 inch LG C2 OLED with SOUNDBAR CONNECTED. On Bose remote, the little box that looks like a television, I pressed it each time to connect. HDMI ARC. Once connected, it is incredible. Did I have to do that…probably not. Am I happy, extremely. One suggestion for Bose is to put a getting started instruction sheet. That would help alot. The price tag is fixed, no matter where you shop. I ordered it on Monday and Amazon delivered on a Tuesday. Good job Amazon. I placed order on my Amazon Store Card and got 12 months interest free financing. I promised my wife if there were any major hiccups, I would return it….Guess I am a new Bose Soundbar Owner. Sorry Honey!!! :) UPDATE Do not download the Bose music app. The software update is flawed. My soundbar started turning off on its own and beeping at me. Then there was an annoying white flashing light. To fix, I reset the soundbar to factory software settings. Now the soundbar works perfectly. ... show more

    • Not Happy After 3 Months

We took out a Bose surround system as we wanted to free up shelf space. The Bose system worked well for us so decided, after reading reviews, to go with this soundbar. Setting it up was tedious. The app could not connect to SB after many retries. My ipad bluetooth could see the SB but the app did not. Called Bose for help. They were suppose to return call. Never did. Finally gave up after several calls. So much for Bose customer support. I had to disconnect everything to remove tv from wall and reposition to make a place for the SB. After plugging in everything and turning on tv the SB was working. So it has worked for a week. Sound is ok but takes some getting used to after surround. The "full, rich" sound some reviewers posted is not my experience. Even after all this time it will come on and no sound. Not sure why. This problem persists. For example, we can watch TV at night and it works ok. Next morning, turn it on, no sound. This happens on a regular basis. Our procedure is to turn it on and after it boots up and tv comes on select source. One thing that is bothersome is there is a brief light when you turn it on but does not stay on. I would prefer some indication it is on. So sometime we have to turn on tv speakers to get sound. This is of course irritating considering the cost. I’ve had three different sound bars and I liked this one the least. Sound was only acceptable not great. I also didn’t like having to use app on phone to adjust. I had a Nakamichi 7.1 system that probably was the best sounding least expensive of the three but returned because I couldn’t handle the wires for surround speakers. I settled on the JBL 9.1 system which so far is excellent. Most expensive of the three but overall far superior to the Bose and slightly better sound than the Nakamichi. I got the Soundbar 900 and the Surround 700s. Set up was super easy with HDMI and the Bose App linked everything easily. Ran Adaptiq and the system sounds absolutely amazing. I'm blown away by it as I didn't expect it to make this much of a difference to my previous Sony(a cheap one) soundbar. The Surround 600s I love as well and at times we are looking behind us as the sound is coming from all over. They aren't "loud" but they do what they're meant to do. The loudness comes from the Soundbar which is super loud and clear. Movie nights got immensely better and the whole family loves it. Hopefully I could get a base module in the future to pair with it when I save some money. Only negative is the $$$. But you definitely get a way above average system and everyone that's heard it is blown away by the clarity and surround feeling. Highly recommend pulling the trigger. You live once, go for it! ... show more
