After installing my Bose 900 I had some weird problems. Got in touch with the Bose tech on Facebook messenger and they offered some various settings but really did not help the situation. I would cut on my LG TV and then turn on the speaker and it would cut the TV right back off again. Also, I have my XBOX connected to my TV and the sound was coming through just 2.0 and not 5.1 as it should. I would stream Amazon Video through my smart TV and not all the sound was 5.1 on that app as well. So neither I nor Bose could figure out what the problem was. My Bose is connected to my TV via e-arc HDMI so I should have been getting the maximum sound quality available. So as a last ditch effort I decided to change out the HDMI wire. I was using MONSTER CABLE since it's supposed to be a top of the line HDMI wire. Right? I exchanged that for the HDMI cable supplied with the Bose shipment. Viola! That was the problem all along. A faulty HDMI cable. Now it works as it should. Everything is 5.1 now. And I have the C.E.C set so that when I turn off the speaker it turns off the TV as well. This Bose sounds amazing. Depending on the source of the sound as in a movie or TV show it gives Dolby Atmos. I was pleasantly surprised when I was streaming the movie CLASH OF THE TITANS. I mean the surround sound was everywhere coming at me from both sides and even above my head. The scene where Perseus was walking through a cave and stuff started falling from the roof of the cave sounded like it was coming from my living room ceiling. LOL. So anyway I texted Bose again and told them I found the root of the problem and they were very happy for me and thanked me for telling them the solution to my problem. I had read other reviews on Amazon and they told of having similar problems so the answer just might be a faulty HDMI cable. Even though they may have a thick coating they have very fine wire inside and can still get damaged. Even though it's a bit pricey they are about two hundred dollars cheaper on Amazon which is why I ordered it. ... show more

I’ve always watched movies using my tv speakers. Currently own an lg CX tv. The sound quality on the tv is not the worst but without subtitles most dialogue scenes sound like Chris Nolan’s Tenet. Sound was muffled and incoherent. Made it feel like my tv was an ersatz product. With the soundbar 900 my film watching woes have been solved. Easy set up and room calibration, plug and play dummy proof. If you have never owned a soundbar like me, it’s an easy get. I can understand if you’re an audiophile and recommend other products but for first time users go ahead and buy it. ... show more

Since I bought this device in 2023 it has been a nightmare! It works sometimes and sometimes it does not work!! I had a nose teck help me set it up and it work then it stops! It disconnects from my TV!!! TV is a 85 inch samsung bought it about the same time I bought this bose speaker! The sound is great but it does not want to connect! I have tryed very port I checked the wire! Its driving me crazy I should have send it back when I first encountered the problem!! I disconnected the power on and off I disconnected the hdmi! I have spent almost all day trying to figure out this device!! How do I get my money back!! Well I have to say what ever was wrong with it!! BOSE FIXED IT WITH NO CHARGE!! I couldn't wait to return this soundbar. Like so many others, I wanted an upgrade from my old Yamaha soundbar to an offering w/ Dolby Atmos, and debated between the Bose 900 and the Sonos Arc. I already have 5 other Sonos speakers so one would think the Arc was a no-brainer, but as a monstrosity of a speaker in size, the Arc would have required me to revamp my entire TV setup to fit on my stand. The Bose was so sleek and the size was perfect for my current setup placed between the stock TV "chicken legs" without blocking the bottom of the TV. Since I wasn't planning to use the TV soundbar for a whole room music speaker effect, I went with the Bose. BIG MISTAKE!!! The Bose app was basic but even worse, very glitchy. I had to go thru the calibration process 4 times because the 1st three times the app froze up on me. Then, once it finally accepted my settings, it lost them, so I was forced to do it yet another time. Dialogue mode kept turning off at random times. The soundbar's volume functions would not stay programmed to my Chromecast remote, something my old Yamaha soundbar never failed to do. You couldn't tell when the bar was on or off, and could barely tell if/when it was picking up volume key signals. Admittedly, the overall sound clarity and quality was better than my Yamaha, which was less than a third of the price of the Bose, but for the price difference, I expected that to be the case at a minimum. It did not improve the quality of my listening experience enough to justify the price difference and glitchy performance. My husband loves old-school Bose speakers so the bar was set high (so to speak), but this speaker simply did not deliver. Not as important to me but still annoying is Bose's lack of integrated music streaming services such as YouTube Music (which is what we subscribe to) and Google Music. Back in the box it goes to be returned. My Arc is on backorder but I am willing to wait AND revamp my TV setup to make room for it. The Bose was a good fit in size, but that's the only positive I have to say about it. One disappointing star. ... show more

I bought this to replace my receiver, speakers, and a TON of wiring. Turned out to be a great purchase, but the device could use some improvement. The sound is good but lacks bottom end. The app is nice but a bit confusing. The device will go to sleep after just a few minutes of inactivity, which requires me to open the app and power it back on. It gets easily confused if you have more than one input and requires use of the app to manually set the input. And… the advertisement of Bluetooth is damn-near a bald faced lie. Yes, it technically has BT, but it only works with Bose devices, nothing else. Do not buy this thinking you can/will connect your BT headphones to it, unless you own Bose headphones. As a workaround, I connect my headphones to my Amazon FireTV, because it has BT that actually works. ... show more

Very nervous about this purchase since my last Bose had to be returned. So here’s my evaluation…Sound incredible, music outstanding. Television sound outstanding. Hookup a little of a challenge. This is what I did. Installed soundbar with HDMI ARC. I then reset my new 83 inch LG C2 OLED with SOUNDBAR CONNECTED. On Bose remote, the little box that looks like a television, I pressed it each time to connect. HDMI ARC. Once connected, it is incredible. Did I have to do that…probably not. Am I happy, extremely. One suggestion for Bose is to put a getting started instruction sheet. That would help alot. The price tag is fixed, no matter where you shop. I ordered it on Monday and Amazon delivered on a Tuesday. Good job Amazon. I placed order on my Amazon Store Card and got 12 months interest free financing. I promised my wife if there were any major hiccups, I would return it….Guess I am a new Bose Soundbar Owner. Sorry Honey!!! :) UPDATE Do not download the Bose music app. The software update is flawed. My soundbar started turning off on its own and beeping at me. Then there was an annoying white flashing light. To fix, I reset the soundbar to factory software settings. Now the soundbar works perfectly. ... show more
