UPDATE 2 - After about two weeks trying to sort out the picture issue, I finally received a reply from Pyle Customer Support: Chris Green (Support) May 28, 3:26 AM EDT Hi XXXX, First, let me apologize for any issue you may be experiencing. We are always striving to improve our products and improve customer service so I personally thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. The monitor has its limited capabilities, if after adjusting the video settings still does not satisfy your need. There is no other option that we can provide. So, it looks like there is no option left but for me to return this unit and find a better one. The picture really is not sharp at all, colors are washed out and motion is jerky. It all points to the monitor not switching to NTSC signal input. No offer to even replace it with another one. beware, when you buy "Pyle", that's what you're getting. A "pile". UPDATED - OK, so I installed a color camera. It is one of the higher-end ASA-Voyager brand color/audio cameras. The picture has 'some" color, but the horizontal lines and washed out picture are not acceptable. Based on the appearance, I am assuming that the monitor is not auto-selecting NTSC (which is what the camera is). I cannot find any way to change the monitor V2 input from PAL to NTSC. The "mode" selector is only to choose between 16:9 and 4:3. There is no other menu choice that would change the video input type. So far it's been pretty good. I haven't had a chance to really use it to its full capabilities as I am waiting for the replacement color camera to mate it to. It works as well as can be expected in black and white though. This is replacing an older black & white rearview camera/monitor on a 2006 Winnebago Sightseer. The older Voyager VOM-78 was still functioning, but I wanted a color view of the rear of the RV and to keep an eye on the towed back there. I will say that there are two very noticeable differences when you move to this monitor. 1. - The field of view (even using the same camera) is amazingly larger. Unless you see it for yourself, it's hard to imagine the difference between 16:9 and 4:3. Of course, if you find the extra viewing area to be distracting, you can always select 4:3 from the menu. 2. - I had to mount the monitor under the overhead TV cubby (where the previous monitor was, with all of its cables), so the mount is upside-down. I was able to easily mirror the image so that it was upright (the camera was already mirrored L-R). My only complaint is that this mount is not nearly as sturdy as the older mount, and it results in the monitor being jiggled around as I drive. If you've never ridden in a Class A motor home with leaf springs (instead of air bags), you might not understand how rough the ride can be on some of the lesser maintained roads. I hope to be able to update this review after I receive my color rearview camera (Voyager VCMS-10B). NOTE - this is NOT a plug-and-play replacement! If you plan on using the Voyager VEC/CEC cable currently run to your rearview camera, you will need to order adapters and do a little splicing on the monitor side to provide power (for the monitor, and back to the camera). Since this monitor does not process audio, you will also need to patch our audio feed from the rear camera into your dash-mounted radio. DISCLAIMER: I paid full price for this unit. I didn't get it for free or even a reduced price in hopes of a bright and bubbly review with lots of pictures and gushing superlatives. If it doesn't work, you'll know about it. This monitor was in continuous use last summer for 6 months. Not only was it my back up camera, I wired it to operate continuously so I could use it as a rear view mirror on my Motor home. It was a vast improvement because many motor homes like mine can not see very well behind them no matter how many mirrors they have. I added a second camera to the extra input and could switch to that view when needed during backing. Probably one of the best safety items I have installed on the motor home. The monitor still works well when it was last used in November. It has a provision to change the aspect ratio so it can be used with wide format cameras and more square format cameras without producing picture distortion like stretching or squeezing. I found that using a sheet of Velcro (hook and loop fasteners) worked better than the adhesive supplied. As soon as the summer heat arrived the supplied adhesive just gave up!. With the Velcro I was able to re position the monitor to find the best spot. After you install it because of it's size you will probably want to move it around some. The mount does not have a swivel function and the angle you mount it cant be changed unless you re position the entire assembly. It was a very reasonable price for features included. ... show more

It all works just fine. Mounting is better done by heavy duty Velcro, kind of looks like both sides are hooks. The one thing I wouldn't I'd like to of had What is four to go dark instead of bright blue In absence of a signal. Instead I have to find some thing on the reverse light circuit to tap into within the dashboard. ... show more

My truck completely hides my little mower trailer. I ordered this based on price and reviews. I installed it myself, and the hardest part was not the monitor, but tracking down the correct power supply from my truck. The neat feature of this monitor is the reverse trigger. The monitor has two inputs: one for a backup camera and another for anything with RCA inputs. You could add a front camera or a DVD player. The reverse trigger automatically powers it up to the backup camera when you put the vehicle in reverse. I wired mine into a switch. Normally, it only powers on when I put it in reverse, but I can flip a switch on power on the backup camera anytime I wish. This allows me to check on my trailer while driving down the highway. It's a great monitor that powers on very quickly. I'm very pleased and will recommend it to friends. ... show more

Great 7" monitor -- could not ask for more. Just as advertised, so I do not need to say much. I has a fairly long pigtail for cable and power hook. You can connect two video sources and switch between them -- a great feature. I set this up for a backup cam on my motor home lic plate --- great for backing into spaces but works only in reverse, as it should. So, I installed a second cam on the roof to watch traffic while traveling -- works great and the image quality is really nice, good color . It also comes with more than one way to mount it. Works as described! Very good display for my use--I have a camera on the rear of my van and this operates as my rear-view mirror all the time. The reverse trigger is great as it switches to another camera just for that purpose. I wish it had an easier to use dimmer on it. It's a little bright for night-time comfort, and punching the menu button and dimming it is a little much while going down the road. Would be nice if it had an auto-dimmer like the gps monitors do. Otherwise, it's a great value for the money! I must share this--the first one I received refused to power up. I told Amazon about it and had a new one within a couple of days, installed it and made sure it worked, then returned the faulty one--all at Amazon's expense! So long ebay!
