I have been into audio for years and years. Back in the day it was nothing by the best - 3 JL w-6 12's, 2 PPI Amps, best of the best 6x9's going to separate amp - Nothing but the best - MTX and Fosgate were garbage, you couldn't get the sound I was getting from a B-Buy - Had to be the absolute best - I would laugh at Pyle and the thought of poluting my ears with it - Years later (present day) I pulled my old amps out of the closet and made a man cave garage with a 160 inch projector screen, everything - and what the heck I bought these thinking well I'm practically deaf now, whats the difference - Turns out these things can handle what they say - I have them cranked on amps, and another 4 wired to a 2 channel ppi-a600 for guitar/vocal stuff - These things sound better than 2000 dollar home speakers - Very high volume, no distortion , great range (if your not running a separate sub or two your never going to get the correct bass from any speaker - for mids/highs (everything but what a good sub woofer handles) these are perfect - 65 dollar set of speakers that sound better than a 2000 dollar full tower pair I have in house. I highly recommend grabbing these - They install in seconds once you get the holes cut - took 10 mins to cut 2 holes in dry wall and put them in (with template that comes with them) then you turn the screws a bot and they secure to wall or ceiling - these are the best mid range/high range speakers I have ever owned - and I have spent more than most peoples student loans on audio in my life. ... show more

I purchased these speakers in 2 groups, as I found I had not bought enough. The first set was just fine. They seemed to built fairly sturdy and they looked like the picture. I ordered 2 more, and that’s when things went south. The next set was completely different. They no longer look at all like the picture in the product description. The tweeter was a different tweeter. The crossover is redesigned using less components, and different components. The mounting ears of the originals had small springs to help push them up while you were mounting them, and to make it easier to remove them. They were heavier plastic. The new ones were flimsy and will surely break if you are not careful tightening them. There is a treble adjustment switch. Originals had the setting markings painted white so you could see them from a distance. New ones, the markings were engraved shallower, and no white paint fill. Hard to see. One of them had the small wire that is attached to the cone in the wrong place. The had missed when making the hole and attaching the wire, so they just left it so it would vibrate when the speaker played. Amazon sent me a replacement very quickly. When I open the new set, one of the speakers had black sealer dripped on the cone. I was disappointed in the quality and the quality control. Out of 4 speakers, 2 had defects. The first sets were delivered in heavy, double wall corrugated boxes with Styrofoam protecting the speakers. Very well packed. The new boxes are much thinner and obviously retail style boxes. My guess is there was an initiative to save money and Pyle cut much of the quality out to meet their saving initiative. I wish I’d ordered more originally. If I were to buy them again, I’d order twice as many as I needed and send the defective ones back afterwards. That way I’d be sure to have enough good ones. I gave 3 stars due to the degraded quality of the currently produced speaker. If you can get the older ones, they would be a 5 star. ... show more

I purchased these to use as ceiling mounted Atmos speakers. At 45% off, these were a great value. Getting the grills back on while upside down was insane however. Forget about testing the treble switch. Set it in the middle and put grills back on before ceiling install. Updated: Didn't think about installation in a solid ceiling, know that the grills don't just easily pop back in. ... show more

I purchased these speakers in 2016, totally thought I would buy a new pair every year so I went cheap. The reviews for this speaker were interesting at the time. People seemed to like the sound so I figured why not give them a try. I can replace them yearly at this price. 6 years later and they still work, still sound good and fill my outdoor patio with sound. Are they the best sounding speakers I own, NO. but for the price and for my particular install (outdoor patio) they are perfect. I might buy a second pair soon just in case I loose one and these things disappear from Amazon. Hard to find inwall/ceiling speaker that fit the exact same hole. ... show more

I really like these speakers. They are an excellent size and I find the sound quality to be very good. My only complaint is how difficult it is to put the grill back on during installation. In fact, on 4 of these speakers I could not get the grill to fit back into the slots. When up on a ladder working on overhead ceiling speakers it is not fun to fiddle around for 10 to 20 minutes trying without success to insert the grill. Finally I just decided to cut a small notch in the grill which effectively reduced the circumference by a small amount, allowing me to easily insert the grill. But I should not have to do this. And on the first one I cut you can plainly see where I cut it. On the next 3 I got better at it so that the cut is not visible once the grill is in place. ... show more
