This is beautiful.. Seems of quality metal (but we just set it up so not sure how long it will last). Roof / canopy also seems of good quality material. My husband did 90% by himself. When it came to the top I helped to hold sides up & put a couple screws in. It did take ABOUT 5 hrs total time, we were not in a hurry & it was raining, so we split it up in 3 days but it was relatively easy to set up & good instructions with pictures. I would recommend to a friend. Seems pretty stable but we have not screwed it into our cement yet.

This is a quality product for a fraction of the cost. This is not the $6000 dollar product by Purple Leaf, but an affordable option that is worth the $$ spent. It does take a little time to put together (my husband and I took about 1 day) but the pieces are marked so well. Good quality and a nice, sturdy cover for the patio over our hot tub.

The 11x13 pergola is exactly what we needed for our deck. It was easy to assemble (definitely a 2 person build after basic assembly is complete), and took a few hours to complete. The quality of the assembled pergola is very good and looks great. After it was assembled, my only real concern occurred. The pull back canopy only pops into a friction holder. If you have zero wind this is fine, but we have a breezy (not gusty or steady wind, just a light breeze that is steady) area and the wind caused the canopy to pull out of the friction holder quite easily. And because of this, the canopy tried to close all the way, but the wind caused the canopy to be cockeyed and this caused a roller to break and the first poll came apart. This leads to my second positive point. I contacted customer service about ordering a new roller and they instantly offered to send a free replacement. I received the new roller in a couple days and have since replaced it in the pergola. The pergola looks great and is holding together great. One concern is when the canopy is closed. There is nothing that holds it in place, so the wind causes it to slide back and forth unless secured (we have a bungee around it currently to keep it in place).

Very well constructed and sturdy, looks nice and the added shade is great in my yard. Plenty big enough for a 4 person patio table and chairs with room to spare. You definitely need at least 2 people to raise the sides for assembly. The wheels for the curtain are somewhat brittle so I'd highly recommend 2 people for installing the curtain rods. One of mine was cracked but the customer service quickly sent me a replacement and followed up to make sure I received it.

I have bought now 3 of these total.. my first one was fantastic!! it was exactly as expected and easy to put together. I got the 16x12' version which did need 2 people to stand up but very easy. The first one we bought was perfect.. and the right pieces and parts, all fit together exactly as instructed, it even came with 1 of every part as a spare just in case. The Second i bought actually had a broken plastic piece, when i contacted the customer services they asked for a picture and one i sent it they sent me out not 1 but 2 of the damaged item at no cost to me. FANTASTIC. My 3rd one was kind of an oddity, the poles were a little to long (easy trim) and about 2 months after one fo the rollers broke. I contacted them again expecting to have to buy replacment parts. They simply asked for the part number and again at no cost to me shipped out a full set of rollers. I cant say enough good about this product and company, i have my first one going on 3 years now and it still looks like new!!! the other 2 i expect to last about the same. High quality, Easy to setup, Great customer service.. Not something i can say about many products these days.

Purpose: We purchased this relatively lightweight pergola to provide summer shade along a vacation riverfront. We read many reviews of many products and chose Purple Leaf based on size, color and performance. This is not a heavy-weight super-industrial item - which was our choice - thus the moderate price. For now it is just sitting on grass, so we put in stakes, and then created bases out of log rounds. The rounds will protect the base from the lawn mower as well as stabilize it windy conditions. Wind can be steady along the river, so we retract the canopy when we are not using it. So far the pergola has held steady and provides much needed shade. We intend to remove the canopy for the winter, which will require removing some screws and poles, and will probably take 20-30 minutes; well worth the time from our perspective. Customer Service: FedEx left the box at our home, and it was clear that the box had been torn and re-taped during shipping, and some of the products had slipped out and were bent and/or scraped. We contacted Purple Leaf and they responded within a couple of hours. We told them what was broken and missing, sent a few photos, and they shipped the items IMMEDIATELY. We continued to have some shipping challenges with broken boxes (FedEx, come on, you are better than this), and Purple Leaf stuck with us, staying in contact, & tracking packages. The Pergola Assembly: For the price, this is kind of an amazingly engineered item as the only tools are allen wrenches (two different sizes). It took two of us to put the pergola together. We each read the instructions all the way through, checked every single part, and then organized all the items before doing any assembly. The instructions are all pictures, no text, so you do have to look carefully and pay attention. Only once did we miss a step but we only had to take out a few screws and re-do it. We needed two ladders to actually get the pieces upright and attached, so having more people could help at that step, but really you only need two people to do the assembly. We discovered one defect: one of the screw holes in one piece was too large for the screw. We worked around it and all is fine. We spread out the assembly over two days, first just putting all the posts and beams together, and then connecting everything the second day. We added solar bistro lights (with zip ties), and the pergola looks fabulous at night in our rustic little place.

I have erected this 10x13 pergola half a year ago. In this time, it went through snow storms, wind storm and scorching heat (over 100F) for days at a time. Installation took two people 6 hours. The manual was very clear and understandable. Everything was labeled correctly, no parts were missing and no aluminium parts were bent. We needed two ladders to finish the project putting it together. Pros: - it looks quite nice and provides good shade when the canopy is unfolded (open) Cons: - very lightweight; I would not lean on one of its legs, as you feel and see it bending. In heavy winds, it shakes a bit (although I properly anchored it down into the cement base) - when it is windy and the canopy is in the closed position, the wind will blow it open. Therefore I use bungee cords to keep it locked in its place (see photo in the snow). Because the pergola is so tall and I am just regular height (5'8"), I have to use a chair to step up and strap those bungee cords around the canopy. If I wouldn't have done this every time we have heavy winds, the canopy would be tattered and shredded. Doing this is VERY incovenient. Also, the canopy isn't very heavy, so I never leave it in the extended position overnight... meaning I have to climb a chair and strap on the bungees every night. - during the winter or during rain, the canopy is always in the folded (closed) position. Due to rain sitting between the creases, it has developed ugly, dirty streaks on every fold. Remember, I have this pergola only for half a year, and it already looks dirty. I am very unhappy with this. Every time I try enjoying my open, unfolded canopy, I see those streaks. I haven't washed the canopy and undoing it and taking it down would be a big project, plus I don't know how it would take to a washing machine.... - the clip that holds the canopy unfolded and in the open position is very stiff. When I hold the strap to move the canopy out of the clip, I have to use quite a bit of force. This force causes the entire lightweight pergola to violently shake. I could perhaps force the clip a bit apart but then it wouldn't hold the rod that keeps the canopy open... meaning in slight wind, the bars with the canopy would just roll forward and backwards. All in all, this is a lightweight pergola but this was to be expected as the price point is quite low for such structure. Basically it does what it is supposed to do (provide shade and look good). I give it 3 stars only because of how easily and quickly the canopy became dirty, by simply existing in the open elements.

Great price looks good. For delivery fee I wish it came unblemished however I feel confident that if you buy this you WILL have bent materials. I was able to make do and looks good. I feel the engineering is so light weight it’s tough to deliver without damaging… If it could be delivered without damage it would be a 5 out of 5 stars for the price:
